Just in case you don’t know the meaning behind the lyrics... “Fluorescent Adolescent” is a ballad about getting older and finding out that life isn’t as fun anymore. It describes a woman who dreams of her youth while her current life is unsatisfying and boring, with emphasis on her sex life. Got it from genius.✌️

I can't say that their new stuff is bad, but Do I Wanna Know and stuff like that are just kinda boring. You know? They're good songs, but nothing exciting happens. Damn, i remember when i was 16 and i was so worried because i had kissed a guy, and i was also struggling with anorexia/bulimia, and other mental problems in my family. I would get into my balcony with my mp3 and listen to this song with my eyes closed, thinking about all the things that were awaiting for me. It is so sad to think my generation was promised so many things that never ended up happening. I was so messed up, but so happy that somehow someday i could escape my tragic fate. I am close to 25 now, still living at my parent's, hopefully not for long.

Their lyrics and their sound remind me of David Bowie on some songs, but they have a sort of vibe that's all their own. All in all, an awesome band.

This song is so emotional to me but in a more surreal way than I'm used to. It gives me hope that I haven't experienced the best days of my life yet.
