It's funny how my 2004 Ford always reach operating temp in minus 20 and never falls back down, but I guess it's where it should be with a bit of spirited driving on windy roads. As for reliability, I will never buy myself an adblue handicap, and newer vehicles are built to break after a certain amount of time I read somewhere, but I'm impressed at how my car is holding up even though I trash it around and nearly jumps in dips after the road has taken some beating from deep freezing, but I change parts every month now because I can, maybe I should convert it to AWD as well...
@MispronouncedAdventures9 ай бұрын
-20c is ok, anything below that then operating temps start to drop off. everyone uses them out here, big vans and small cars. I’ve never found the adblue a handicap, I just fill the tank every 5000 miles

FYI, you can look it up on the DEF/Add blue count down. you can disconnect your batteries and wait 5 mins. (dodge but might work on a ford too). a few can reset via a clear code with a diagnostic tool to give it a chance to stop tripping on itself. It sucks when the def gets lumpy or crystalized. id imagine that you dont have much in the way of regens with the engine working harder in that weather.
@MispronouncedAdventures9 ай бұрын

I promise im making up for it by binge watching your videos from this day forth 🙂
@MispronouncedAdventures9 ай бұрын
Not a dumb question at all! It gets asked a lot. I am quite particular on how I am reply it’s not necessary the simplest of questions. Mainly as my experience with my tyres on my vehicle will be very difficult to yours. I use the same tire all year round. I used a BFgoodrich KO2 which is a popular tyre with the aggressive offloads look. They meet all the legal requirements for the Nordic being 3PMSF rated. they are a studless tyre unlike normally all cars and 4x4 use up here used a studded tyre. However, particularly I am a heavy rear wheel drive van so there is plenty of traction over my driveway. many of the British front wheel drive van however have switched too studded tyres, as they don’t have the benefits of the weight over their drive wheels. Studded tyres can be bought and rented up here. Additional note, I’ve particularly choose to go up in January and March before the transition season when there’s a lot more ice around. majority of the road/ during the middle of winter are compact snow, where the tread is doing a lot more work than studs do. In the last winters up here, I’ve helped helped pull out more vehicles with studs tyres and without. It’s very much how you drive

The crystal orientations don't get sorted by gravity. They are all random due to the turbulent and chaotic nature of non laminar flows or in this case stagnant non confined flows (Reynolds number Re > 3500). Long story short is that the photons only hit your eye when a crystal is at an angle of incidence equals angle of refraction orientation which happens only for milliseconds. Thankfully the column of light remains because there are billions or trillion so snow flakes rotating and translating into the perfect position to give the you the illusion. Stop pull over and get out and look closely or use a small spotting scope to observe the scintillation. It's rare to observe this but with full spectrum sunlight you get ROYGBIV all of those colors flickering like cosmic LED's. Very rare to get those conditions but its just as beautiful as the Auroras.

I’ve been lucky enough in the past to see light pillars and auroras at the same time! Really a lovely thing to see. Interesting the way to explained it, I had always had to explained to me ( and infographics show ) the same orientation of the plate crystals.

I don’t often but sometimes I need too. If I’m not using a tripod. I’d run out of hands

Hi again from Finland. Damn it has been a cold January here. Just a small comment on that petrol station in Tornio. It is called Teboil, TB. If you want to avoid money going to russian war wallet, avoid using this chain. The money from the pertol goes to Lukoil, which is owned by russians. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lukoil Anyways have a safe trip, dont freeze!

Interesting, I wasn’t aware of that. Although I would’ve assumed given the current and embargo and trade restrictions, a European registered company legally be able to give money to a Russian company or parent company?

@@MispronouncedAdventures it is a bit complicated. Teboil's ownership leads to Russia through a few steps. Teboil's shareholder is a Swiss company whose direct owner is the Austrian Lukoil International GMbH. It is owned by the Russian PJSC Lukoil. If it get extremely cold, there is winter diesel available in all petrol station and in addition arctic diesel in few stations. Here is a little info copied from Neste chaing webpages. Arctic diesel, designed for very cold conditions, is available in Northern Finland at four Neste stations and eight heavy-duty Neste Truck stations. According to weather forecasts, severe frosts can be expected in the north already after the turn of the year. "Nestie's arctic fuels have been developed and tested to withstand even the harshest conditions. The lowest storage temperature of arctic diesel is -40 °C, and a well-maintained diesel car can operate with it down to a temperature of -44 degrees. It is still good to keep in mind that in very cold conditions the diesel vehicle should be preheated or kept warm in the garage before starting the engine," says Sam Holmberg, head of Neste Oil Retail Finland. Neste's arctic diesel withstands long-term storage and does not contain traditional FAME biodiesel. If necessary, arctic diesel fuel can be added to other diesel fuel grades in any mixing ratio. Arctic diesel is sold by the following Neste light and heavy traffic stations: Light traffic stations: Neste Kemi Lapintuuli Neste Kolari Neste Automatic Kuusamo Ruka Neste K Rovaniemi Reissumies Neste Truck stations: Neste Truck Crash Neste Truck Rovaniemi Alakorkalo Neste Truck Oulu Äimärautio Neste Truck Suomussalmi KTK Neste Truck Kuusamo Kitkantie Neste Truck Ivalo TTK Neste Truck Kemi Lapintuuli Neste Truck Sodankylä Ranniotie
