THIS brings back some Incredible Memories! In 2009 I worked as a WOOFER on a nearby Organic Farm...less than 12 Kilometers away. The Farmer, an Australian Man who was a fine Painter, a questionable Musician, and a Fiery Thespian had put together a "Sight-Specific" Performance of Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose". He actually obtained permission from the Tomar "Camerata" (Chamber of Commerce / City Hall) to have use of the Templar Monastery! It was a Once in a Lifetime "Spectacle" - to say the least! As a daft, American who had basically run-out of funds while living in Lisbon, working on that Farm, and having THIS Amazing experience is something I will NEVER Forget! Tomar is one of many, and I mean many Magical Places scattered throughout Portugal! Visitors to Europe's most underrated Country, should also Visit Coimbra, Braga, Guimaraes, Evora, Sintra, and the spectacular 2nd City of Oporto (Porto)!
