Interesting project. Can I ask, what do you believe the maximum current is for this controller, and how many mIlli amps does it use when there is no sun? Thanks

Thank You. The current rating is 5A. I have not measured the mA during no sun. In that condition I have to remove the LCD and ACS712 leds. too. Your channel is really nice one. I have learnt a lot from you. Thank You for your videos.

I was looking for this to charge my Isuzu car battery using a 100W solar panel. I couldn't figure out the car alternator computer to fix the problem with charging. At the moment, I am using a portable battery charger to get around charging the battery. It takes 5-amp fast charging to maintain the charge while the car is turned off under an hour. This is a game changer project. I am inspired to build the solar panel controller/battery charger. My go to for schematic capture and board design is KiCAD and for 3D packaging model and printing is FreeCAD. Both tools are open-source software based on python scripting language. What is the specification for the charge MOSFET? Do you have the part list on your web site? Thanks!

How is the load on and off process

During day load off and during night it will turn on.

I didn't simulate the project, I have first tested on breadboard then on prototype board. And finally I made the PCB.

I tried to download the SW and the port on the PC never came up. when I take the Nano off the board it shows a port on the PC. What is the load procedure. Why is no port up on the load machine?

I made your project everythnik is okey but I connected 12V 7Ah battery after arduino is burned. Everything is the same with your project. How can this be?

Thank You, A 12V solar panel means it is suitable for charging a 12v battery. The open circuit voltage is around 18- 21V.

also can i omit the grounded connection of the leds, beside the power diode, i didnt understand its purpose. The leds has already a grounded connection.

If you use it inside an enclosure, it is hard to display the LED outside, in that case without soldering the LED you can use external wire to pin headers for connecting the LED.

It is not a MPPT type, it is PWM charge controller.
