I lived on Hyde Road in the late 50s and worked at the Manchester Hippodrome Ardwick Green …..I loved it …Now look at the mess we have.

Gorgeous to see Ardwick, my dear dad, passed now, would have absolutely loved to see where he grew up as a boy till his 20's I'm certain he would have visited many of the shops in the video Fascinating to see Thank-you for posting

Hi ,I lived practically opposite the apollo on the same side as the hippodrome down abit back in the early sixties as kids we use too play in the old theatre (no fear) abit creepy now when I think of it, o how I miss those times ,loved Manchester always will x

No wonder we lift in 1969. The last vestiges of its 19c early 20c heyday we’re all but gone. Seen here. I’ve warm memories, but it really was down at heel. Manchester’s rebirth has been superb

Not really …you need to look again ..no people drunk or on drugs sleeping in doorways in those days…..I lived on Hyde road facing the bus depot in a sweet shop and I worked at the Manchester Hippodrome …I loved it.

I think it's fair to say that there were a lot more shops back then. In some areas, you have to travel miles to find a shop now a days. :-(
