To be fair, they're a lot better than old Halloween costumes used to be. Plus, most kids don't really care as long as it's their favourite characters. I remember having a really crappy Spyro the Dragon costume and I loved it, lol.

As someone who works at a Spirit Halloween, the Cru ella stuff has oddly been moving really fast. The kids have a cool Trick or treat bag though. And they had a new Disney Villains line this year as well.

Commercial Halloween costumes from my childhood tended to be cheap, shapeless, plastic sheet clothing with graphics bordering on cartoon-like and seams that gave away quickly, paired with an inflexible, thin plastic mask that was prone to cracking, cutting your face, and obscuring a good part of your vision. You did not want to be around open flame in those things. The noxious vapours they gave off were probably flammable as well. Modestly well-detailed graphics on fabric are a step up I suppose.

As often as not, instead of trying to look like the character they printed a PICTURE of the character on the front of the costume. So you had a painful, non-breathable mask, and a garbage bag of a shirt with a cartoon of what you were supposed to be.

Most of these costumes are more or less the modern day versions of those old costumes from 70s & 80s with the mask of the character & a shirt or drape with the promo art of the series they're from. Basically like a walking billboard (Eat at Joe's). Only this time it's bloody expensive!

These Halloween costumes are the reason I go to the thrift store and make my own Halloween costumes. This year I'm going to be Agnes from Despicable Me. I was going to switch to Captain Carter, but they have the Eternals costumes, but no Captain Carter or the cool stuff from What If... The only Captain Carter costumes I found were legit cosplay costumes for hundreds of dollars! I'm going to have fun taking off my unicorn backpack and saying "it's so fluffy!" All day! 😁😁

I really appreciate Disney FINALLY having costumes for wheelchair users. I’ll tell you the greatest memory of this year was having my little brother beyond thrilled to be buzz lighter IN his spaceship (the wheelchair was wrapped by a heavy duty foam spaceship). He actually got to be Buzz light year.

The bad batch are a bunch of defective clone troopers (hence the name) they were first introduced in the animated show The Clone Wars and now they have their own spin off on Disney+. So they are just meant to be in clone trooper helmets but they war paint them to fit their personality.
