Not really correct though. Like they said here, by the time you’re left with what you pay for food, it’s £45 for 7 days - £6.42 per day. Now, a pint of beer/lager in Marmaris averages around £2-£3. So if you have 2 pints per day, one with lunch and one with your dinner in the evening, that means you have to get any other drinks (tea/coffee/soft drinks) plus meals, for under £2.42 per day for it to be more cost effective to not go All Inclusive.
@kingcobra851
@kingcobra851 Ай бұрын
@@NJTRAF they said £45 per day, not £45 for 7 days. but the way they have compared is not correct, first they added up wrong it was £54 for the stuff they showed (taxi costs isn't included in all inclusive and 99 percent of the time there is restaurants next to or within 5 min walk of hotels by the nature of tourism) and that was for both of them (showed in the last part they were adding two meals and two wines to get £40, so the other prices can only be assumed to be the total costs for both) so they spent £54 pound out of a £90 daily budget (they said the total costs for holiday were per person) they also didn't buy equivalent food compared to all inclusive, you can get local food and drinks for cheaper, you can also buy food and drink in to cook in your hotel which would bring the prices down even more. all inclusive vs self catering is never about the price either way, all inclusive is just for convenience and mostly for people who don't really want to leave the hotel and spend there holiday around the pool or using just the hotel facilities. If you also want to explore the locations or food outside the hotel and have all inclusive, then the costs vs is just massively in favour of self catering

My parents always did the same either rented a house in Denmark and went from there when we were younger. Later on we always went to France and stayed at this big camp grounds where you can rent tiny homes, are close to the beach and have a massive pool on side. Going to the local supermarkets and trying all the local deserts they had was our favourite thing to do. I will never get why anyone wants to literally be locked into a hotel.

It’s not about behaviour it’s about convenience for the parents who like to lay by the pool as a holiday. For me that’s not a holiday at all. We were far too poor for AI when I was younger if we were lucky enough to go away it was self catering and we always had a really good time, however I could see how AI would have been equally as good but less stressful for my mum.

For me (especially with young kids) it’s an absolute hassle trying to find somewhere to eat 3 meals per day if you leave the hotel. If you stay in the hotel for almost all meals you might as well have gone all in. We go all inclusive and make sure there are at least 4-5 restaurants so it’s not too repetitive. Then we can just eat as and when without planning. So much easier to roll down to breakfast, all eat then you can hit the pool with the kids. We buy convenience and if you stay in nice places you always get good food in most of their restaurants even if one or two isn’t the best.

AI for me is simplicity. I have two teenagers with simple needs... Sun, pool, beach, food choice. I used to love travelling around an area. But to be honest what I like more these days is that from the moment I drop my car with the airport valet everything is done. And it's one phone call with my travel agent and one payment to her. It depends on the all-inclusive. I went to one on my honeymoon that was tiny - I think about 20 people were there. The food was amazing and they would pack you lunches if you wanted to go out and about to explore. You would need to take taxis if you wanted to go elsewhere for dinner, so easier to stay on the resort for dinner. Loved it. Recently tried another out - huge resort and the food was too 'samey'. We won't do a big resort again. I do like bed and breakfast types of places so you can ease into the day, have what you like and then get to explore the places nearby in the evening.

Athens I did payg this year, but had breakfast included in my stay. That cost £600pp, and the food & drink elsewhere was very very cheap (maybe £15 pp every day). A think the value of all inclusive, or any sort of catering plan isn't necessarily that it's cost affective, because that's a rabbit hole that ends with eating ramen out of a cup in your hotel room and everyone lands where they are comfortable with after a while. The value is that you know you can stroll up to the bar or cafe, get whatever you want from the menu you've bought into, and not think about it past that. It's a suspension of having to deal with food and drink beyond let's try this or that

I love how the comments are like “you will only get your money worth if you stay in the hotel” 😅 that’s not true. If you eat a large breakfast, go out with fruit and snacks they provide, large meal when you get back, you can easily make up £45 worth. People really assume you’re needing to sit by the food are trying to find issues. Last year, I went all inclusive to Portugal, my friend and her fella paid as she went, my hotel was better, my flight was better, I got British airways, she booked Ryan air, I got a transfer to my hotel, she had to get a taxi, my food was so good in hotel I only needed to eat out twice and that was because I didn’t want to be anti social, I took sandwiches out with me and the hotel gave me a cooler bag. I spent £500 less than she did and she got a deal because there were 2 of them (it was actually £1000 more but I split it) it sounds like people are picking the first all inclusive deal they see. Weird brags going on. Remember that lower quality places will advertise more, shop around. 😅

I'll try and keep to eight during the course of a day, which sounds like more than it is. My last booking had a delta, over half-board, of £50/day, in high-end Mauritius. For that, I get those 8 drinks, a lunch, and more restaurant choices for dinner. Is that worth £50? Marginal, I think. Perhaps I should have gone half-board and take in a litre of duty-free.

Went all inclusive in Cypress and the food at the 4 star hotel was amazing. I didn't realise until the last day that you could order a burger (or whatever) at any time, I thought it was just the breakfast, lunch & dinner 🤦‍♂️

Me and my other half travel to salou in Spain a lot and have done both our first time we paid as we go to try as much as we wanted and it did rack up a lot but was incredible the other times we have done half board and inclusive and I think half board is best for us breakfast at the hotel, go somewhere for lunch and then dinner back at the hotel gives us the flexibility of the rest of the day doing what we want all inclusive was useful but you couldn't take drinks to the rooms so you would be sat in a very quiet bar which wasn't so much our thing lovely when spending time by the pool but yeah half board is a nice middle ground :)

All inclusive is good if you like staying in the resort. Also if you drink plenty alcohol. I don't, so I'd just be supplementing other people's drinking. Ditto food, I dont eat that much but its great value for people that do.

The problem with all inclusive is that you're not really seeing the place you're visiting, you may as well just have a buffet back home.

Problem with all-inclusive is the crowds it attracts. I prefer pay as you go, I am not always in the mood to eat and or drink unlimited alcohol. I also prefer to go out and enjoy the restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Food in most all inclusive is either bad or you can definitely get better outside the hotel. Besides, who wants to stay within the confines of a hotel.

It just depends on your budget ! If you’re low income then all inclusive would be ideal especially a family, unlikely to explore anyway

You will save money in the hotel by going all inclusive as they will charge you more for drinks around the pool and with heat they warm up quickly so you can just get another but that doesn't stop mean you have to eat in there all the time you won't get punished for not eating for me I do both

if your plan is to stay at the hotel compound yes. If it is to stay there only for 1/3 or 1/4 of your trip, then probably no.

All inclusive is great if you want the same boring food every day. From my experience they usually change one or two types of food each day, but that's about it. Personally I rather spend 20-30 more each day to enjoy my food and to get better flavors.

Much prefer renting a villa and doing a food shop, eating mostly at the villa and one or two meals out. You get private pool, personal space etc and I don't like the idea of just having hotel rooms for me and the kids, having to share the pool wirh loads of people etc

I book all inclusive whenever i go abroad. Even if i go out for lunch or dinner for at least half the holiday. Its cheap enough nowadays anyway. The caveat to this is it only me and my partner because we don't have kids.

If your getting high end beer and top shelf branded spirits then it's worth it , entertainment in these places are average to ok, your regimented to eat at the restaurants at a certain time unless you want to snack on chips burger and pizza .

I feel like it really depends on what you desire. If you want to be more "into" the place, rent an AirBnB (or some affordable hotel) and eat where the locals do, though that comes with certain stress. If you just want to relax and have all of your needs taken care of, All Inclusive sounds pretty good to me.
