Grea video. I used the triangle foundation stability bunker for almost all my Rust career. No one ever softsided the foundations tho. I think if a group has the time/Jackhammers to softside an HQM foundation they would just c4 it anyway.

Might just be the servers you play on. With 3 people it’s only 8 minutes to soft side it and around 700 scrap. Given many people only have one sheet metal door protecting that foundation, it is incredibly easy to eco raid that base.

The serenity bunker is still going strong. With the buff to armored doors, reinforced windows are now the weakest link.

ive built serenity 2 multiple times in rust, only problem is if you get raided it doesnt let you rebuild in certain areas, so its a one and done build

@@Call-Me-Mo That's a concern. I fortunately hadn't had to notice it until now. I guess foundation placement was patched some time ago. I don't see an easy workaround. Maybe it's time to dust off the old 1x3 with a stability bunker.

There is an easy fix for the roof chute bunker and the conditional roof bunker. If the lowest foundation is as close to the ground as possible, you can place a triangle foundation raised 2 levels higher so that the socket will be against the side of a foundation. That will prevent the socket from being blocked.

That means that you have to then honey comb that foundation way more, as its 1 soft side foundation to all of your loot.

Being a console player, I feel sorry for the PC builders today. It seems like facepunch is just making it easier to raid a base now and harder to come up with a more secure base.

I want another type of window like wooden windows can swing open imagine if they had metal windows that can swing open and you can place code locks or wooden locks so eco raiders can't raid your roofs when your off also can be shut and not easily shot out during base defense. Also a high quality window that can swing open both at once or you can open either side whenever you'd like plus an option for it to slide open like the doors with a small gap on each of the 2 windows would give alot of peaks and more defense could also help against heli when it fires loads of rounds so you don't need as many meds

Also so many ways we should ve able to make electricity windmills sometimes don't produce all the power you want what if they created a way to have electricity made from crude oil and expensive route of making a radioactive PowerPlant where you and raiders need a specific amount of rad protection to be near it but also a simple water wheel so if you build near a river that can make electricity for that one I'd say the closer you are to a waterfall or start of the river the more power it gives off. For the radio active one let's say you'd have to start a radioactive crate in some monuments such as launchsite and have to wait to collect it will drop off heavy scientists plus other players will be alerted you have started it so they can counter. 1 nuclear rod can last 24hours as a fuel source. For the crude oil most people just chuck it if they can't do the excavator but because of how rare it is and how strong the fuel is compared to low grade it should power a much larger generator. Also going off that idea maybe with that type of generator or nuclear one you should be able to set up passive small excavators in your area to passively collect you resources not as much but small amounts worth the effort of you having to constantly run monuments to keep them running. In a safe location such as in your compounds but if other players jump you walls they can steal your fuel or your resources while your gone so make sure they are heavily guarded

Not a fan of bunkers in general. Always felt exploit-y and cumbersome to me and it sucks that you have to implement them to match other players. Not sure if they're just intended or too difficult for Facepunch to solve. The only reason I really care is because every single youtube base tutorial is a goddamn bunker. (Makes sense though since the concept will mostly appeal to players that aren't casual)

I'd like to see small-scale shell-base drop options implemented. What I mean by that is having an optional function with the building plan, that if you have enough wood - will give you an "instant basic layout/shell/twig" of a starter. It wouldn't NEED to be on the building plan either, it could function in a different manner - like taking enough wood to a certain NPC and trading it in for a "camp setup" or something. I don;'t mean having this option available for a compound either, moreso small-scale starter types. 1x1 with airlock, or 1x2 with airlock Maybe even like a log-cabin type of thing that's built to be viable hour like 1-4 and not after, could even put something in to circumvent adding structures on to it. Mainly to save the headache of finding out your spot isnt big enough to place a certain wall or something whilst mid build because of a random rock or something - but also because in the opening moments, people will often hear the building happening and rush - which youre defenslesss as is, but if you're solo with BP/hammer out it's GG. This wouldn't outright prevent that, but it would give people more of a chance and also get us into the prim stage of fighting/looting quicker.
