My great great father was born in Sanford, seminole Florida. The story goes that after his parents died he was watched over by his uncle who wore a turban. We always thought that meant we were African and that fueled òur religious attachment to Islam as our true religion. He, actually, became an Episcopal priest, one of the first brown ones in the country. I thought back and realized he could have been Seminole or similar because of the turban. Are you familiar with "Curran"? I was curious to know if it is derived from Quran. I am studying historical figure John Philpot Curran who had a major influence on law and politics. Then there is martyr, John "JC" Philpot, who is historically known for being jailed and persecuted...burned at the cross 12/1555 for renouncing Roman Catholicism. He was removed from his position as Archdeacon for those beliefs. While imprisoned he wrote the stories of the other inmates. Moor is short for MOABITE descendants. It is not exclusive to muslims as many portugese and spanish moors were sephardic jews. Even the Holy Roman empire, which was Christian, was started by the Moors. Some of the moors were colonizers that arrived at the american continent as european colnizers and married into some of the indigenous tribes. thus, many eastern tribes speak ALGONQUIN which is an indigenous language mixed with arabic ARABIC.
