Based on personal experience, tech certifications allow you to qualify for more opportunities than not having one as some jobs may list that they need a particular candidate with said qualification. Something to note as well that you need to leverage your certifications with some relevant experience and/or coding projects to make your job applications hold more weight.

Even tho you dont have a degree?

@@JonBerisha-ti1vl Yes, you need to do small projects and then work on bigger things. You don't necessarily need a degree but you need to demonstrate that you are competent in order for them to hire you

@@JonBerisha-ti1vl in the tech industry in general, degrees are not needed. With that, I have to say that it could depend on where you live. I am based in EUR so I would imagine that in places like America it probably wouldn’t matter as much consider would great their tech industry is. In short, if you have the skills and are in a fairly decent environment, your degree doesn’t matter

Other than the certificates, what are the most important technical skills for an associate/entry level Solutions Architect? Python, terraform?

I agree with the point about getting involved with tech events. For example, if you are in university, companies will host recruiting events at your school where you can attend, where you can connect with recruiters and get your resume noticed. I have had a lot of success this year getting interviews for new grad roles.

Hello Lucy, great video as always. I only have one suggestion, that is if you can include a PDF of the roadmap you explained to download and refer later if needed. Thank you.

Nowadays companies posting job opportunities will receive well over 100 resumes. Now they have a choice between an applicant with a bachelor degree and certifications A, B and C, and another applicant with only the certifications A, B and C. Who do you think will get an interview between the two of them?...😏
@thehunted31618 сағат бұрын
None. They would go for the ones with experience.

Thank you so much, Lucy! Your videos are always amazing ❤. As an engineering student, I’d love to see a video on a roadmap and guidance for those of us looking to build a career in cloud computing.

Very important question - If you upload projects on github in percent or 1-10, how much would you higher your chance to be called for interview?

Hello Lucy, What can I do if I don't have the money to do the AWS certifications
@PdfnaegaКүн бұрын
um should I do mern stack (also adding things like tailwind, typescript , next js and using chatgpt or claude and making some intensive projects) or should I go with cloud computing. I want a secure and stable job in future even when ai is replacing or automating some jobs or tasks in some jobs ;) oh also which one would be tougher and how much time takes, ik its too much but if you'll still answer me I will be happy 😭😭 thank u for reading :D

Some companies still insist on a degree. Not many, but some still do. Short-sighted and you can imagine the corporate culture at such places. Snobbery and bias based on rep of school you went to, level of degree. Going to work feeling like pulling up to fancy country club in your Camry, when everyone else in Bently & Porsche. Di you even wanna work in a place like that? Ok, maybe you can deal with all that for a paycheck. But more and more companies are realizing degree not as relevant as skills for tech jobs.
