Thank you for this fun video! One thing that I always found so striking about the initial bless cards was how strong the class identity was. Guardians mostly didn't draw the tokens, they sealed and spent them; Survivors wanted to draw them; Mystics wanted to use them as part of their paradox. It is interesting to see how bless design among these three classes has changed with Feast. Keep up the fun videos!

If I were writing the taboo for Ancient Covenant, I would make it say, “If you drew a (blessed token) during this skill test, you may exhaust ancient covenant to treat (the auto fail token) as a -6.” That way it’s auto fail protection, but you still have to be +4 for every test you want to potentially use it on. There are certainly decks that can do that, but it’s no longer as free of a combo, you have to put in more work and commit more resources for it to go off.

For a lot of the 'symbol' taboos I really wish they'd just print lvl 1 or 2 versions that had that text on them. A lot of them are good enough to warrant it and it'd be really nice for players who play untabooed.

Exciting conversation about blessed and cursed archetypes. Thank you both. Would you say with this easy blessed generation and keeping them in the bag and the bag stuffed, that Sister Mary's core ability and card design is overshadowed and that she's way weaker now? Also, does the new Rules insert about Matheo granting himself or any other investigators that he has "blessed" by sealing a bless them on them, to count as "Blessed" traited essentially mean he would be able to buy the "True Awakening" trait card from the upcoming Drowned City?

I think the big problem is parallel Mateo, less so the covenant. When Ancient Covenant is restricted by only being able to randomly pull tokens and/or the 6 pulls from 2 favor of the suns, it feels strong but fair, like it is walking a fine line on the precipice of overwhelming the game. Mateo and his infinite bless resolution, that is also like a permanent, is the factor that the game's balance isn't ready for. I am currently playing blessed shotgun tommy and the game is so drastically different when i do and don't find the favor of the sun. Additionally, when there are so many enemies that 3-6 shots isn't enough so then I have to just take regular token pull shots, the game keeps its tension high. (to borrow the phrase from the editor) Having that permanent, infinite, favor stapled to mateo is definitely what pushes the balance over the cliffs edge.

I hear you on this. I played Parallel Father Mateo last week. . . Once he got Ancient covenant, Favor of the Sun, Blessing of Isis, Beloved, and Eucatostrophe . . . I'm pretty sure he auto succeeded the entire campaign. He could even put a token on Sister Mary who he played with, and if she had ancient covenant, she could have pulled off some similar chicanery.

IMO Key of Solomon is the most impactful Bless payoff from Hemlock. Parallel Zoey with the Key is just invincible.

I think Parallel Zoey is in general one of the strongest fighters in the game, now that Blessed Blade 4 is a thing.

I think they can go as broken as they want with parallel investigators beacuse, meh you are printing out a card that doesnt exist. Might as well make it wacky. As long as they balance regular investigators i think we are fine . Also the loop of filling the bag with bless tokens in 4 players and having someone just randomly oversuceed or suceed when they thought they couldnt, especially rogues and non-optimize new player decks brings a lot of good vibe to the table. Even without big pay offs

I agree bless decks are cracked. I think Parallel Zoey and Parallel Mateo are both among the top 5 strongest investigators.

A big part of that is how insane Key of Solomon is as a bless payoff.
