The test for the cheap one was at 5. We all know that the higher the flow, the lesser the purity. If they tested fully charged at level 1, it would have been over 90%. Aside from this, we don't know what flow the more expensive one was set at during the test.

Yea but it should pass the test at level 5 regardless if it is being sold because some people need higher flows and still need maintained purity in the oxygen concentration.

I agree. HORRIBLE VIDEO! "Let's compare a concentrator with low battery to one with a full battery" POINTLESS. Doesn't even mention flow rate. Tested for "a few minutes." Cheap one have significant weaknesses but this test was horrible. I would never buy from someone who produces such a bad video.
@kanankiri1306 Жыл бұрын
No, you can't say a Ford Fiesta isn't good because some people need a large SUV. I don't know what patients need what oxygen level. The video should state that the cheap one can only maintain above 90% at 1 or 2 LPM, so you need to know what your doctor is prescribing because that probably isn't enough. .this was a horrible video.

It's $800, it's a cheap model. Really. I don't call $800 cheap. I'm an engineer and sticker price often has nothing to do with performance or quality. I've seen equipment that sells for $350-$400 that has $20 worth of parts inside. That's not a joke.
@wytewillow006 ай бұрын
Agreed. However compared to the price sticker on a medical grade machine, $800 is majorly cheap :(
@scaletownmodels6 ай бұрын
@@wytewillow00 Sadly this is true. I've seen a simple set of surgical clamps in a catalog listed for $500. Nothing special about them. Just standard stainless steel, 2 pieces pinned in the middle. Made in India. Absolutely nothing special about them. Should cost $20. In a surgery they'll have 10 or 20 of them lined up. $5000 to $10000 worth and that's a factor of why medical costs are so high.

Please Note they speeded up their video to show their units oxygen numbers rising quickly. Also it appears their comparison was unfair due to the less expensive unit having a Low Battery. Even Top of the Line $2,500 medical grade oxygen concentrator machines will stop producing enough oxygen when their batteries are low! Battery life is critical on ALL of these units and purchasing Spare batteries is a must for long term use. I know my mom had a "Inogen One" brand portable Oxygen concentrator that needed fully charged spare batteries to be portable.

I have a creliver goes from 1-7. I usually set it on 1 because thats all I need. It’s connected to my bipap machine. I only use it for travel or vacation. Hotel rooms or cruise. Mine stays at 93%. I check my o2 levels when I wake up in the middle of the night and I am always at 96-98 on my tester. So it works for me. I have a regular medical grade one for my bedroom so I only use this on trips. Easy to carry and set up. I use an Inogen G3 during the day in 2 ltrs. At night I only need 1 ltr to sleep with.

Have you checked the creliver with an oxygen tester like this guy has in the video? I just ordered a creliver off Amazon, Then they immediately removed the selling post. I’m concerned and I don’t understand why it says in the instructions, 1L/min is 93% and 7L/min is 30%.
@icur2 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzyapplebong328 As you increase the air volume the purity of the oxygen goes down, not an honest video because they had the setting on 5, which is double the normal air volume and the cheaper one that they are selling has no air volume control that I could see? I like the Veron better, it has much superior electronics, what they sell here is for profit. I know of a wholesaler where you can buy good quality for pennies on the dollar, these machines are actually cheap to build, however there are laws that block 3rd party sellers from U.S. markets, that is why people buy these cheap machines, as shown on right in video for $2000, when they import it from China for $50 wholesale. So they make huge profits!

If it does 60% at level 5 I would expect about 90% at level one. I just got a Varon VT-1. $450 but eventually after testing at the pulmonology lab, I'll drop another $200 for batteries and an external charger. 90/60 is what I'm looking for.

I noticed in my shopping lately, that the less expensive ones specifically say "non medical grade". They also say in the small print some level of "oxygen percentage" which I have seen today as low as 30% (vs NEEDED 95%or better) to 55%. That's what made me come onto YT to look for ideas on the best least expensive real quality deal for people who have been evaluated by a pulmonary specialist and is prescribed full time 24/7/365 oxygen support, like I am. I need a very durable and very compact backpack style for taking long walks in the woods with my dog at my new home up north closer to Canada than I've ever lived. :) Green, plush, and lots to see..but NOT with an oxygen unit on rollers. That will never work. Thanks for letting people know this good info. Good people get cheated and scammed every few minutes, especially older folks who grew up in a time when a person selling medical supplies was trustworthy and took great pride in her/his work, so they could be more susceptible to bad advice that "sounds" okay.
@beachbum46912 жыл бұрын
As with everything the needs of individuals can be very different, and the cost of these units are similarly different, you can pay $500 or you can pay $5000. remember 55% of an 8 L output is 4.4 L far more than 95% of 2 L output at 1.9 L but remember also a 2 L output may well be sufficient for a steady walk on flat ground, it depends on the individuals needs,
@joepublic6256 Жыл бұрын
You do realize that the best home units drop to around 55% at higher levels correct? Only level one is top purity. it goes down significantly from there the higher the number.

1. A cheap oxygen concentrator would be no more than $300, $800 is absolutely not the price of a cheap oxygen concentrator. 2. A cheap oxygen concentrator would have probably done just fine maintaining around 97% oxygen concentration if you set it to 1 liter per minute instead of 5 liters per minute. If 88% is the minimum a cheapo oxygen conc can probably be set to 2 or maybe 3 liters per minute at most. 3. Setting a cheap oxygen concentrator to 5 liters per minute for a comparison video is absolutely deceitful when your overpriced made-cheap-but-still-costs-more garbage Caire Freestyle Comfort only does 1 liter per minute at its max setting.

This company shouldn’t have made the stupid battery comment. But besides that, they are telling the truth. Here’s what the Varon website says: “If you need supplemental oxygen, a home oxygen concentrator may be an option for you. Home concentrators are portable and can be used at home or while traveling. They're less expensive than medical grade oxygen concentrators and don't require a prescription. However, they are not as powerful as medical grade devices so they may not be the best choice for all patients with COPD or other lung conditions that require high levels of supplemental oxygen on a regular basis (such as those who live at higher altitudes).” So if your life depends on it, get a medical grade oxygen concentrator which requires a doctor to give you a prescription. If you want something that provides supplemental oxygen and doesn’t need a prescription, get a non-medical grade concentrator. I’m getting a portable non/medical grade just to help out when I Covid, travel to high altitudes If a doctor says to get an oxygen concentrator for health reasons, I’d go medical grade.
