I've got about 14 years experience tattooing and tattoo many different tattoo designs in different styles from Old School Traditional, Neo Traditional, Japanese, New School and Realistic. Great video, I can’t stop thinking that’s the only way they’ve found to stop tattoo. As you said there’s no proved correlation between inks and any disease... I don’t get it. They already tried to remove it on 2013...

Yet aspartame and high fructose corn syrup is nooo problem.. Colour tattoos have been around for centuries and are not going anywhere. Back in the day people were making there own colour pigment, looks like we may be going back to that. Yet big pharma can put out drugs, and side effects may include abdominal swelling, nausea, diarrhea, increased risk of stroke, heart disease, renal failure, hallucinations, memory loss, blood clots, cirrhosis of the liver, kidney failure, and the list goes on. Just gotta love being RULED, and have every choice about what is and what isn't safe made for you. Granted in some cases it is warranted, but this is definitely not one of them. There are far more toxic things LITERALLY being shoved down our throats, with far greater and worse consequences.

They run some test like breaking down the pigments via acids, exretme high temperatures and blue and greens didn't fully breakdown. Now problem is the tests in no way resemble what the body does and the simple fact that they didn't breakdown fully is by no means proof of them being dangerous. Its all ifs and maybes. If there was actual proof of course the tattoo industry wouldn't use them but so far just a bunch of test that don't prove anything

They are not banning certain colors, just the ingrediens that are considered unsafe. Companies producing these colors will have alternatives ready in no time. Where I buy tattoo supplies they say they will start selling regulated inks during the spring.

The ban comes into effect January, eternal, world famous, silver back etc are all unsure as to when or even if they will be able to get reach ready anytime soon and if they will be able to maintain the same quality of ink. And the rush speed in which they are having to get ready also means we have no time to adequately test how they will last over time will the ink stay strong over 5-10 years? There is no way to judge that. Either way it's not good for tattooing especially when they still can't prove if the ingredients are dangerous. Save the pigments initiative is doing an update on the appeal process on friday(tomorrow 29th october) which will hopefully have good news

Would it be too hard for tattoo industry to find a middle ground? I don't know, present something to the equivalent of the FDA for having a composition of ink recognized as safe. I said this out of good intention cause it's true that bad quality or certain components in some inks can be problematic it would be cool to have something officially recognized as safe for the well-being of both tattoo artists and clients.

Problem is it’s pretty much impossible to achieve 100% safety with anything, especially colour as in order to achieve the right vibrancy. Same with anything, a car requiring petrol, but emits bad fumes, so they make them electric, but then the electric ‘safe’ option cause more pollution though the factory’s making the batteries.

The sad part is petitions rarely do anything and unless people are willing to start personally emailing or sending letters to their representatives in government then they will succeed at banning colors. Even if you're not into tattoos and just if you're into art or creativity at a base level this should bother you and anybody that believes in a right to express yourself how you see fit should be taking the hour to research and write their government representative and let them know how they feel

Petitions can help, and if they don’t they spread awareness and the more awareness the better we can combat the situation if it does goes further. But completely agree about writing to representatives, it definitely helps a lot and anyone willing to take the time to do that it is greatly appreciate by the tattoo community, everyone needs to understand how this can be a slippery slope to worse things

More people should take action, not just artists. Clients should know they are going to be affected the most as they will no longer be able to get what they want. Tattoo artists are not a big portion of the society and even if all go and sign, I don't think it would have such an impact. Hope I'm wrong..

If companies will be smart, they will sell inks as a ink for painting etc. Change their purpose, but we all know what to do with them. In Poland to avoid paying sugar tax, they selling coca cola in section with car parts as a rust remover.
