I just got my first pair of prescription computer glasses which my ophthalmologist recommended because I work in front of a computer all day. Thank you for the information in your video. Very informative! But I have a few questions. Yesterday was not first day wearing them and the computer started looking okay after a while but when I took the glasses off and put them back on they had to adjust again. How long will it take for my eyes to adjust more quickly to the computer glasses and how far back from the computer monitor should I sit? Also, and I don't know if you can help with this, but I know from a previous ophthalmologist whom I have not seen for years that my eyes do not converge when items are very close up. He prescribed prism in my lenses to help with this convergence issue but I was still getting migraines that lasted all day, probably from the computer. With that in mind, should the computer glasses help with computer-related migraines? Any insight you can provide is much appreciated.

Hey Oliver, I did a check up today and my eyesight is perfect, I just have EXTREME eyestrain or fatigue, my doctor recommended I use eye hydrating drop 3 times a day for the next month. As my work evolves around focusing on a computer screen or papers, Would getting computer glasses make any difference?

Same issue. I can no longer use my phone nor computer with pains behind my eyes. Have drops for dry eyes, don't do much to help. See if glasses do.

What is the difference between having magnification to help with convergence vs a prism vs a small ADD in the bottom (like Essilor anti fatigue/sightrelax)? I had a concussion and was given a 2 fresnel prism and told to wear them with a no rx lenses for computer work (I am nearsighted with a -2.00 rx for distance). However I was also told I would benefit from a small ADD of 0.6 for my distance lenses, but not to put the fresnel on my distance lenses. Would combining computer glasses with the 0.25 magnification along with the prism potentially provide additional benefit? When would you choose a fresnel prism over magnification for up close reading and vice versa? Similarly when would you choose the 0.25 magnification over the 0.4 ADD (0.4 is the lowest available) of the anti fatigue lenses? From my understanding they both help with convergence but with different mechanisms. There seems to be so many opinions it’s very difficult as a consumer to navigate! I got a crizal prevencia prescribed glasses that was told to wear all day

Prevencia only filters less than 20% of blue light. That's why it's ok to wear all day. I'm not a fan of the pink color, that's why I'd rather not have it on my everyday, all day glasses.

@@JSFrederic I think Prevencia came out really early when Digital Eye strain was just starting to trend. It's an ok option but I prefer "in the lenses" blue light filtering rather than coatings that do it. I don't want to use the word "better" but my preference would be something like the Shamir Blue Zero (if you wear prescription) or something like the Felix Gray lenses.

For eye protection screen you need to check StillerSafe Advanced light control screen which is very good for eyes and your future . Check on google. Wearing anything on your eyes will not help you for long hour work on the laptop. try this screen check reviews on amazon but expensive on amazon cheaper on their website.

Idk what i bought computer or blue light but it has same tint as you and of course -4.0 power . I feel strain heaviness when wearing now off the glass i still feel uncomfortable rolling eyes . Idk maybe cause im wearing all day . Im getting plain simple cheap glass thats better .

Do brown sunglasses block blue light ? my ophthalmologist has asked me to wear yellow filter glasses that block most of the wavelengths of blue light because of my macular degeneration. However I didn't find those in the market. So I got a dark brown tinted sunglasses. Should they be fine ? Would they block blue light wavelengths just as good as yellow tinted glasses.

The darker the lens, the higher up in the visible spectrum you are going. For example, yellow is in the 560-590 range and brown jumps into the 635-700 nanometer range. So to answer the question, Brown filters blue light and more.

They do to an extent, but it'd not recommended you wear sunglasses indoors because of etiquette and eye health reasons. Also, most organizations have rules against personel wearing tinted glasses inside.

Cost varies but yes, computer glasses or blue light filter glasses can really help. If you don't need prescription then Felix Gray, Pixel and Gunnar are great options. Kooper Eyewear is also cool if you want a more hipster frame style with quality lenses. Price can go from $60 - $100 USD. Can't say what you should get. It really depends on your style preference.

Try cyxus. They are cheap and have really decent built quality. Most of their computer glasses have very little yellow tint. Which is good for colors as you can still see blues just fine. It only filters out near UV blues to UV.

What if I have myopia -5? For some reason I can see clearly on the mobile and laptop but it's impossible to not see blurry when I'm seeing the monitor at a distance of an arm's length. The monitor is perfectly fine and I can see clear only when I see through the bottom of my glasses or when I move glasses farther away from nose. I'm damn confused as I never faced so many problems before and one pair of spectacles was enough previously!

They might. It sounds like light intensity might be causing your discomfort so blue light glasses may be able to help. To be quite honest you should start by having a complete eye exam and talk to your doctor about what you're feeling.
