Nice! I've been looking at trainers to keep myself in shape (and sane) during these dark cold winter days. I didn't even know a roller trainer was a thing but you make a good point about "getting bored" on a regular trainer.
@MTBTravelReview6 жыл бұрын
Yea man. I have avoided indoor training in the past for that exact reason. The roller makes a huge difference during these miserable cold/snowy days! Glad I could help. Let me know if you need any pointers!

Very good video. Why do you run a trainer specific tyre? Ive heard that rollers make less damage on your tyres than tarmac does.
@MTBTravelReview4 ай бұрын
Less about tire damage, more about comfort and sound. Nobby tires on a a roller is no fun.

Hi - I’ve just bought these and just had my neighbour round complaint about noise - can you offer any advise on noise reduction vibrations through floor?
@MTBTravelReview3 жыл бұрын
I used a couple of mats that work well. I think they are called anti-fatigue or cashier mats. 3/4” or so foam like material that absorbs the sound well.

Thanks for the video, I'm thinking about buying one, however it looks like it produces quite some noise ... can you confirm ? How does this compare to non-smart rollers ?
@MTBTravelReview6 жыл бұрын
Sebastien C. Honestly, once you put it on the rubber mat it isn’t bad at all. I was surprised how quite it is. The gopro mic definitely picked up some vibration which is making it sound worse than it is. I’d say it’s very similar to a regular trainer. I have a downstairs neighbor since I am in an apartment and they haven’t said a word about the noise.

Really great video thanks! I was planning to buy one to use with my XC MTB, does the trainer properly interact with apps and automatically change the resistance?
@MTBTravelReview6 жыл бұрын
ema cross thanks, Ema. It sure does! I use Zwift. Just make sure that you get some trainer tires for your XC bike. Over 25 rides now and still love it!
@Pokkel23056 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. I have the exact trainer. I find it response perfect to zwift resistance changes in normal 'just ride' mode, but when I use it in 'workout' mode it doesn't force you to hold the workout required wattage like a normal ergo trainer. Do you experience the same? I've tried connecting with both bluetooth and ant+ and the results are the same.
@MTBTravelReview6 жыл бұрын
Pieter Olivier glad you liked the video! I have not experienced this myself... I use workout mode all of the time and it keeps the same wattage requirement. Mine is connected via ant+. I would reach out to the company and see what can be done or if they have heard of this issue before...

Pieter how or what do I need to connect this roller to zwift? I recently bougt one but I still don't know how to connect it. Thanks

Are they loud, like would they bother downstair neighbors?
@MTBTravelReview2 жыл бұрын
On the rubber mat it’s not very loud at all. I had no issues with downstairs neighbors, but that’s just me.

Can you pair this with Zwift but for power data use your bike's powermeter rather than the somewhat inaccurate meter of this roller?
@MTBTravelReview4 жыл бұрын
messi9991 great question. I assume you can, but I am no expert. Sorry man

@@MTBTravelReview no worries, thanks for replying and thanks for the review, I am pretty much convinced on this roller now as opposed to a direct drive smart trainer.
@MTBTravelReview4 жыл бұрын
messi9991 I highly recommend it! Much more fun than a standard trainer
@alexanderengelsryming44043 жыл бұрын
messi9991 did you end up trying it out with the on-bike-powermeter? If so what do you think?
@messi99913 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderengelsryming4404 no, I ended up getting a direct drive instead, was on offer and was convinced by a friend. Not looking back to be honest, I did up to 4.5h rides on it in the winter. And interval sessions work great.

Just got a new rollers , my front wheel is not spinning ..., any idea why ?
@MTBTravelReview5 жыл бұрын
olivia olivia did you get this specific roller? If so, you need to make sure that the band is wrapped properly from the front to back rollers. The front wheel only spins if the back rollers are turning and thus spinning it...

How do you put your bike on the ceiling?!
@MTBTravelReview6 жыл бұрын
hahaha. Solid question! I grabbed a couple of those big rubber coated hooks from Home Depot and hook one around my stem and one under the seat. Find a couple studs and install! Works like a charm in my small city apartment.
