Angela! Hey, I’m a May ‘24 undergrad who’s active duty military. I got a great scholarship from the Army and was allowed to attend college full time BUT am required to return to duty after graduation. I’m in the process of applying to deferred MBA programs, thought being that I’ll get out of the Army soon and pursue an MBA. Thoughts??

YEAH GO FOR IT!!!! Zero harm in trying. It does not hurt your chances if you're unsuccessful and want to try again later. You fall into one of those rarer classes of candidates that deferrals are for so go for it! Keep in touch and good luck!!

Insightful. Outside of pursuing a non-business career path, how else does admission criteria for differed MBA programs differ from that of standard MBA programs?

The criteria is the same, it's just that proving you clear the bar is harder because you have less experience to draw from. They will prioritize candidates who show they are more or less MBA ready today in the way they communicate and present themselves in addition to their track record of impact.
