KP remains the only show where I had 2 OTPs and both became canon. Still can't believe it :D And the things is, I just shipped them for fun, and I NEVER thought either would be canon, NEVER. (Drakgo - even less, although it was my fave OTP of the show.)

Drakken did appear noticeably older in the bad-future in Sitch in Time, while Shego stayed the same, but both had the white streak in their hair to show they're 'older'. I'm guessing their age gap is around 15 years at most. The comet might have just made Shego age slower in general (since she looks the same still in the bad-future).

I always thought it was simultaneously a knock for and against Drakgo being a thing because Drakken seemed to be the only male character who literally never noticed Shego was hot. Or react to her in terms of attractiveness. Ever. Shego in a bathing suit? She's been in her bathing suit around him couple of other times too. Zero reaction, 100% nonchalance. First season, Shego tried to flirt with Drakken cos he was angry (early season when Shego could actually be scared of Drakken), and Drakken got more pissed that she would try that if anything. I would say, that maybe Drakken was so damn focused on his master plan, that even all the 'signals' Shego giving off never got to him, and so he never reacted. And it took until the end of Graduation, when he finally succeeded and got recognition, that he FINALLY actually NOTICES Shego (cos heck she even dressed up in a nice dress for that occasion). And the plants react on his feeling this, finally, and acted on his instincts that he may have always been too otherwise focused to ever notice.

I think, ironically, the clip you glossed over is the best argument that they are in a relationship by the end of the series - the two second scene with the plant. As you said, the plants follow Drakken's mind, even if it's subconscious. He draws Shego in beside him. The flowers go around her hips and literally drags her into him. Shego has this sort of shy smile about it and goes with it. Now.. we know Shego is not opposed to physical violence if someone does something she doesn't like, she's clear about maintaining her personal space, and Drakken very much enters her personal space. I propose the following: #1: Drakken has just literally dragged her against him. #2: Shego -has- the power to resist, step away, or smack him for inappropriate behavior. Previously in the series, we've seen her do this to Drakken and establish clear boundaries and limits. She does not here. #3: Instead, she expresses happiness that he did it, and she's even a little bashful about it. She even puts her arm around him and allows his around her. I would argue that speaks volumes. While it's true it could have been platonic, I think it more or less confirms the relationship, which would tie up the last remaining plot arc in the show that wasn't resolved (which is what Season 4 was entirely about to begin with)

The director of the show, Steve Loter, confirmed during a Q&A for the finale of the show that Shego and Drakken were a couple after Graduation. I personally don't buy it but you did a great job on analyzing that moment. Never thought about it that way. You raised good points but I still stand by my opinion. The reason being the director's reasoning as to why the two are a couple: Because the fans wanted it..... That's it. I never got the vibe the two had feelings for one another until the very end. Felt off.

coming in WAY late to the party but one of my favorite more subtle hints that Drakken had feelings for Shego is in the episode “Blush” when Shego is reading off the personality quiz options to him about what he would do if he had a crush on someone and Drakken says, “Oh, I don’t know. I’d probably employ some kind of mind control on them.” and WHO was it that he put a mind control device on first in “The Twin Factor”? to listen to him and give him attention? (even though this is terribly fricked up to take away her autonomy like that, I don’t condone his actions and he def deserved whatever punishment Shego unleashed upon him off screen lmao.) completely agree that he had feelings for her for a looong time, as seen in him missing her when she’s not around in “Kimitation Nation” (plus him calling her Dumpling?? for no reason?? ???) and the way he says her name when he thinks she’s the one breaking him out of jail in “Mad Dogs & Aliens.” and yes!! the fact that Shego stayed with him after all those failures just shows that she had some sort of affection for him that grew over the series into something more. like in the Christmas episode when she left the beach to go save him in the North Pole after finding out he paid for her holiday!! she grew to like him so much so that she went to space and fought aliens to save him. I love their dynamic so much!!! Their bantering and domestic villain-y vibes always made them the best part of the show to me lmao. such a good video!! sorry I’m only just now stumbling across it but so glad I did!

well the best part of "emotion controler' was a fact, that kim act lovly olny to Ron, and shego only to drakken, so we can asume, shego have feelings almost from the start. But because she was baddas mercenery and drakken was... well... he was a grown up child, she try to control this feelings by hook up with random "hot" guys. but in the end, she awleys go back to him. yeah love is strange... and this is the best part of this

I think you left out one of the most important episodes as far as the relationship between Drakken and Shego is concerned. "Mad Dogs and Aliens" is important because it shows Shego's jealousy of being replaced as Drakken's sidekick, but I think "Mentor of Our Discontent" is even more important, as it shows how she feels about being replaced on a more personal level rather than a professional one. At first she's thrilled to have Lurcre around to annoy Drakken, but as they start to bond she realizes she's made a mistake, and in the end Drakken treats her mostly as just a third wheel, without any consideration for her feelings, which leads her to storm out on him.

There are differing stages, and vibes, a relationship can have over time though; and Drakken and Shego definitely portrayed that kind of banter-y ‘supportive yet mocking’ kind of relationship that siblings can have, on several occasions. That said, I think the “unlikely partnered turned something more” stage that they are in at the very end of the show, doesn’t have that ‘sibling’ vibe anymore.

He still mostly speaks his mind, they can still banter more or less the same, and he still is her last line of defense cos I think she trusts him the most. Heck when her platform got blasted, Drakken automatically caught her, no fuss. Also Shego totally beefed him up to fill her specific kink (the diff guys she hooks up with on her vacations shows her 'type'), so uh, she made him into her ideal of 'eyecandy', apparently. It's still not great, but Drakken doesn't seem that bothered so you know, they seem happy!

In *Emotional Sickness* when the episode first kicks off its first fight scene, Shego initially refuses to fight, which is quite out of character for a woman who LOVES fighting Kim, Drakken then tells her “now is not the time to question the nature of our relationship”. That was a big clue for me. The way i see it both Drakken and Shego know they have feelings for one another, but both suppress it and try to go about business as normal, but it’s not working.

I would say an interesting episode is Kimitation Nation, because Drakken really struggling in his plan, when Shego's not present and sort reminiscing about her, not to mention how Drakken was when Shego came back at the end of the episode.

Shego was my childhood crush and still she is my favorite villain, i love how independent and badass she is and her style and that’s what made me like so much, however it looks like that she kinda loves him since she is always there for him and supports him and Drakken respects her, I think that there is such a strong chemistry between them and I would die to see a romantic villain relationship with these two 🤩

I won't repeat all the references to a relationship between Drakken and Shego: all the comments analyze very well how they are unconsciously attracted in so many episodes. But there is another plus for D / S: Drakken has blue skin and Shego has pale-green skin. This feature should not be underestimated. Before they met, Drakken and Shego were lonely and introverted people. The fact that two abnormally skinned beings met was probably a fateful event ... how many people have skin of their color? Hence, Drakken and Shego are two loneliness who eventually meet and cannot do without each other. This is my opinion.

I have this weird feeling that because Schooley was writing the script for the liveaction film right, and having decided that Drakken and Shego would be a couple at the end already, that he dropped in a lot more hints in the liveaction version that they're already 'closer' compared to the originals. I mean in general, what is slapstick physical comedy in a cartoon becomes a little more suspect in liveaction. Like how in the character teaser trailer for both of them, both of them keep trying to hog the limelight, up till for some reason Drakken/Todd decides to play with Shego's hair and fingers. It's arguably OOC, and more like the actors themselves goofing around, but still interesting because they still seem to be a bit in-character at the same time. Or how in the first image reveal when they were cast, they COULD have gone for a back-to-back pose, or any other dynamic pose, but we end up with Shego back into chest of Drakken. Like I said, in a cartoon, it doesn't really seem like anything, Shego has physically dragged, tossed, full-body-shoved Drakken multiple times, and even Drakken has grabbed or poked Shego multiple times and it's played as nothing more then physical comedy. But in a more grounded liveaction setting, that level of physical contact is...suspect. Then in the movie itself, with the plotline being a plot with their 'robo-daughter' and in the position of 'bad parents'; them very nonchalantly sharing a milk carton between themselves (I've seen some family members refuse to share spit like that) and the one single bed in the entire lair (arguably just an oversight, and clearly Drakken can sleep on the chair or on the floor), and it just...in the 'real world', it definitely seems they've gone beyond boss and employee is all I'm saying.

His intention becomes even more obvious when he wrote the script for the liveaction KP movie which isn’t great, but noticeably made Drakken and Shego seem to be more of a possible couple because Schooley prolly has a clearer idea where he wants the two of them to end up in compared to the show (where I do think they only decided to really write them as a possible couple in the last season). Even the two actors of liveaction Drakken and Shego said they deliberately act like a ‘bickering old married couple’ and that’s after Todd talked with DiMaggio about portraying Drakken. And during the casting call, once they had Todd for Drakken and started trying out Shegos, they decided on Taylor because she could counter Todd’s presence and “got him to follow her like a chastened puppy”. And that’s not even going into the actual subtext in the film which was - Drakken calls Shego his partner-in-crime during the teasers, not a sidekick; the base plot line includes their ‘robo-daughter’ in Athena who they act like really bad parents to (“She got this from you”; Athena yelling at them to stop arguing because she wants their attention); them sharing milk from a carton more nonchalantly than some families would; a single bed in the entire lair (tho Drakken is shown to sleep on the floor, at the base of the bed; or possibly was pushed off the bed). Look I know the liveaction and the animated version is different, but the endgame is presumably the same. And it’s clear Schooley told them to act like a couple who have lived together for years, but stop short of fully being romantic. He already stated they become a couple in the original animated version, the liveaction version just makes it a lot clearer and sooner since Schooley can write them with a clearer idea of what their relationship actually is.

What I find weird is that Steve Loter says they made Drakken/Shego sort of canon because of the fans, but at the same time he said him and the other writers liked the idea of it as well. I find it hard to believe that this decision was "last minute" since even seasons 1 and 2 hinted (admittedly rather subtly) that they had feelings for each other. Granted in season 1's case it was more on Drakken's side with the way he touches her face and hair while she's brainwashed and calling her "dumpling" in the Kimitation episode. But still.

Todd and Taylor deliberately acted like a ‘bickering old married couple’; Taylor was cast as Shego because she alone could counter Todd/Drakken’s presence during screentests and got him to ‘follow her around the room like a chastened puppy’. They are both deliberately acting on a ‘couple in all but name’ energy (and that’s not even getting into the whole ‘robo-daughter’ thing). The movie’s still G so nothing can be ‘explicit’ but it’s definitely more consistent in terms of the vibe they give. I mean, Drakken got drunk off milk ffs. Tho if they were one milk-drunk bender away from sleeping with each other I wouldn’t be surprised because it seems plausible (heck there’s only one bed in the lair so who knows!)

something I notice watching this recently was after shego helped kim defeat Warmonga stating to Drakken its her job to destroy Kim and wasnt gonna let someone else do it which could be true but even after kim defeats drakken n warmonga, Shego steals the communicator to guide Wade with a plan to get rid of Warmonga specifically so she doesn't work with Drakken again. Guess she's not very keen on letting anyone else have him lol.

@@konstantinatzila4567 The funny thing is there’s other moments in the show - like the episode Unfair Job or something - Drakken literally grabs and hugs Shego tight cos of a lightning storm and Shego doesn’t have a negative reaction to this (she’s freaking out about the lightning too) but either way, physical closeness between them actually SHOULDN’T be a big deal, but they mentally made it into something awkward in Graduation. Hugging is not that out of character for Drakken because he has done this before, but it was the first time Shego went for the hug herself and that seemed to throw both of them off.
