how can you ride without changing gears? where is the pleasure? and tthe smell of gas? the sound? the exploding engine of an r1 big bang, the roar of the ktm 1290 beast? yeah, nevermind the electric bike, it’s like a fake orgasm.

It's funny to me how protecting people's health and the environment does not matter for most people, even though most electric vehicles were conceived with that aspect as the driving force. If somebody would invent an instant injectable cigarette to stop people from polluting and making others sick, most would love it because of the convenience first and foremost.

The common man in the states cant buy one either. It is for sure a premium priced vehicle. Only justification for the price is lack of maintenance/gas down the road

The more I see videos on Zero the more I want to get one. I've never ridden a motorcycle before though. I'm selling my gas vehicle so I can use an electric vehicle to commute to work. Being only a couple if miles away helps out. Plus having solar panels at home the charging isn't an issue.
@slartybartfarst97374 жыл бұрын
I run Tesla Model s P85 2014 100,000 UK miles. Have run a zero DSR now a SRF. My solar panels charge the car when Im on the bike (I reduce it to 1.5Kw) The bike charges when Im in the car. The SRF is incredible with everything turned up 100% and a complete gent when in ECO mode. I run 1000cc sports bikes and classics that weigh the same as the SRF at 220Kg. Not shifting is the best aspect for a beginner, Ive always said having traction control (for the closed loop control of power) is essential on any EV, the SRF has got it, the DSR has not and dont ask me why I know, put it this way a high side is not the best way to exit any bike, Ive ridden bikes 35 years and ride Kawasaki triples so know evil bikes .... turned up 100% that DSR can spit you off. Go for the SRF or any bike that has traction control and run on ECO as you learn. Ride the big fusion reactor in the sky have fun!

The best beginner bike is the Zero. Twist and go, no shifting. You can adjust the motor down so that grandma can ride it and up it as you get more comfortable.

Only advantage of electric bike is do a wheelie and no neighborhood hears you ...so wheelie all day in front of your house...if it's possible
@exothermal.sprocket5 жыл бұрын
It's all great. It's wonderful. Except the cost, time to charge, lack of level-2 and lack of infrastructure. And it's burning just as much coal, gas, and oil as a gas bike. Electric torque is very appealing, but it's the one-trick selling pitch that even Tesla constantly leans heavily upon. After you've flattened your eyeballs on a launch a few times, all the other realities set in. Mainly it's two things for me: Purchase cost (what else in the gas land can you buy for this cost? Is this Zero actually as premium as bikes in the same premium cost range?); time to charge, especially on longer trips or trips into remote areas I love to ride with gas bikes.
@M1XEDBAG5 жыл бұрын
no dude its not burning as much fossil fuel as gas bike. the cost to charge these bikes is around a dollar......thats not using much fossil fuels
@exothermal.sprocket5 жыл бұрын
@@M1XEDBAG Back all the way up for the moment. Dismissing the cost factor of operating these e-bikes, what was the original push, the motive, for creating these bikes? Or e-cars for that matter? Now, from the research I have done and my background in manufacturing, engineering, and science, the total impact of e-bikes and e-cars on the earth isn't so clean as the media, marketing, and environmentalists would have everyone believe. Now, moving forward to the cost factor. Zero's bikes ARE expensive. Very much so. For the equivalent of about a GSX-S750 in outright power, these easily cost a LOT more. Yes I understand longer term maintenance is very inexpensive and cost to charge is relatively inexpensive, but don't forget how many miles of fun can be had on that equivalent 750 for 10 thousand dollars above the purchase price. Not to mention owning the bike right off the dealership floor instead of foolish loans. Wealthy people don't get loans. That's why they got wealthy. Do what they do.
@M1XEDBAG5 жыл бұрын
Lifted_Above look dude you type to much I’ll keep it brief. The sooner we go electric the better. Simple as that. The sun and wind produce enough energy for the world to live off of and can take us back to low end emissions. All vessels land air or sea can all be electric, it will just take time for the evolution of the tech and a lot of investment from the richest of the world. As soon as the rich find a way to make money off of it, and they will, it will absolutely be doable and be waaaay less harsher on the environment.
@exothermal.sprocket5 жыл бұрын
@@M1XEDBAG "The sooner we go electric the better. Simple as that." "it will absolutely be doable and be waaaay less harsher on the environment." Those are some pretty bold statements. It's the same gobbledygook being foisted on the masses by the environmentalists, the traditionally liberal left politicians, and big corporations. You agree with that sentiment, I do not. I won't go on and on and on. As you've expressed you like simple, declarative statements that don't explain how. I, on the other hand work in engineering, manufacturing, and understand science and the weather.
