Can't wait to hear what you think about these green ECO boats/yachts? Lately in the news we are hearing about how a few manufacturers may change the direction of building electric cars. What do you think? Yes or definitely NOT?

The whole *green revolution* thing is nothing more than a monumental scam designed to siphon money from people by creating an artificial market for a product and is literally a solution in search of a problem. Electric cars, boats, airplanes, etc., are not only many, many times more polluting to produce, operate/charge and dispose of, but with today's technology limitations they are also completely impractical as well. All other factors aside, the biggest problem with electric vehicles is the unsolved issue of *energy density.* Simply put, a battery pound for pound, cannot be made to contain the same amount of available energy that pound for pound, is contained within a gallon of gasoline, diesel, etc.. This is why with current technology, you will never see a car, boat or airplane which can go as far or do as much work on a charge of electricity, as one which operates from a full tank of fuel. My background is aviation and we now have electric airplanes which can fly 40-80 miles on a charge, while their gasoline or jet fuel counterparts can go literally hundreds or thousands of miles on a tank of fuel and in many cases, do it at exceptionally higher speeds and payloads. Fortunately, people are now waking up to how expensive and impractical electric vehicles are and are voting with their dollars and not buying them. This is why the major auto companies are suddenly scaling back or outright cancelling their electric vehicle programs. However, I believe the citizenry will now be forced into buying EV's because our government is in the process of mandating/legislating our compliance with their *green* agenda.

I had an off grid home in the mountains of New Mexico. Only fuel was propane for the refrigerator, hot water heater, stove and radiant boiler.. Wind and sun power. The toxic chemicals and rare earth minerals for advanced battery systems and plain old lead acid batteries make “EV” systems more environmentally damaging than a well regulated petrochemical plant.

Any videos on how to exactly properly change a belt on main and gen would be appreciated if you get that chance, also what is the product I see ppl spray on the filters on occasion to I would guess to clean them? Is that normal, and what is it and when and how used? As always you guys are the best, and thank you!

U can buy a cleaning spray for the filters. Treat as directed and then follow up with the oil spray.

One gallon of fuel occupies 0.133681 CF of space (7.480543 gallons fits in one cubic foot) which weighs 7-8 pounds per gallon depending on the fuel type which propels my 8,500 pound vehicle 15 miles. It takes only a few seconds to replenish one gallon fuel which I can get at over 100,000 gas stations in the US without waiting in line. When battery technology reaches these parameters (and it never will) it might start making sense. BTW no one enjoys a long trip in an electric vehicle LOL and how about the F-150 electric truck that caught fire (lithium battery) and burned a hole through 8" of concrete and destroyed many other cars in the parking garage! We have had 100 years to put in production capacity and distribution networks for gas/diesel powered motors and can't just mandate the use of electric vehicles overnight when we are decades from having the production capacity and distribution not to mention adequate battery technology. Electric engines mostly burn coal without which we would be back to living in the dark ages...no refrigeration, no air conditioning, no computers and data centers (I believe the data centers and cloud technology use more resources than manufacturing).

@@WillFixThat Fact.. conventional ICE cars are 80 times more likely to catch fire. The energy/polution deficit Is bogus aswell mostly because the lithium and other rarer earth metals in older batteries were very poluting water intensive. This has changed and Li phosphate is way way safer ..for boats .. even if I put up the internal links half the time U tube deleays them so go figure that one. Hybrid power is 30 % more efficient done right ...this is especially an advantage with off grid and explorer Sailing yatchs and cats. See the Windelos. They can run the motors in regen under sail, they are also covered in solar panels that can fill the batteries in the course of a day ..some in less sunny latitudes also run wind turbines ...though these are of limmited efficiency. The other guys to look at on U tube are Edison motors out of BC Canada and topsey their Electric hybrid logging truck. The key words are Stoichiometric optimum. The advantages its simplet powerfull lighter, quieter cleaner it has built in power redundancy.. the ICE motor generator requires less inapropriate use and therefore maintainance. Remove the ICE motor from the constant cycling and throtling and drive function and you can substitute a multi fuel simpler lighter motor ..dump the clutches, selectors and gearboxes big bad exausts and other plumbing.. and what you put in its place contains 50-100parts and is 1/5 the size and is for a 70ft can be about 20% the mass The electric motors are equally if not more compact .. need no gearboxes or clutches can be mounted in any position and just need the a bearing check every two years. They produce 100% torque from the ON forward or reverse and they dont vibrate or smell they are up to 98% energy efficient....they can even run underwater and use contact cooling so no pipes or through hulls and have only one moving assembly. No need for air O2… less cooling to be done no Dangerous combustion gas leaks .. and if you have a battery pack able to store enough energy you can leave the boat gas off and save yourself all that cost, hassel and insurance risks. As theres no world standard system for bottle gas bottles and adapters.. Marine diesels are 80times more polluting than their land Automotive equivalents and small two strokes like outboards are just off the scale .. dumping it into the water is not a solution, the fuel itself just as here, is a major cause of problems boating/shipping.. that will get worse. You are also not rellying on the stuff that you find in the second or third word as most live aboard cruisers do, where its been in and out of tanks pipes and cans that are whatever they have available. Finally a whole lot of heavy plant, large boats, subs and ships ..plus Railway locomotives have always used Electric motors powered by generators...thats at least a centuary and electric power built the first high speed cars and was used in boats even earlier. Finally new battery tech is arriving or has... So you already have Blade cells ..that make battery packs super safe and easy to overhaul. Theres high capacity long range packs.. theres new formulations of the Lithium tech thatvuse smaller amounts and are more stable. Theres Na ion tech emerged in the past year and that whilst not as power dence ..more of a problem in a car .. is amazingly cheap available, stable and resilliant in terms of temperature tollerance -20to plus 60C from memory it can bev totaly discharged for transit. With C rates to match. Li Sulpher and Al S chemistries are being tested and with those you are looking at equivalent storage capacities/densities from 5x present and up to 10x and at that point ICE fuel is dead. One other point when they talk about comparing the energy and pollution cost of producing Li batteries with fossil fuels , they dont take into account the energy cost and pollution cost of mining and producing the fossil fuels or ICE engines 🤦🏻🤷🏻‍♂️🧙🏼‍♂️⚓🇬🇧 when you do that and then add the pollution costs and lack of efficiency in ICE motors. Fossil fuels are what they always have been 🦕 ..tech. See where the commercial and fleet is going... and life boats...

The arguments about EV's remind me of the 1970s when unleaded gas came out. It was going to ruin your engine. And now ethanol gas is going to ruin your engine. Some people just won't embrace change.

You are correct ethanol gas in and by itself will not ruin your engine, however, ethanol’s affinity for water, will damage your engine if not treated properly.

100 percent of the battery is recycled
@jameslobosdelmar
@jameslobosdelmar 4 ай бұрын
That's 100% misleading. Tesla tries to "recycle" 100% of theirs but others don't. 100% recycle doesn't mean every bit was saved & reused. Additionally, there is a lot of energy used in the process of recycling. Don't forget new "raw" materials must be mined and added to the cycle as well. In many cases it is cheaper to build new vs recycling and the energy footprint between isn't as large as most would believe/hope for.

It has proven by Electrical Engineers, many, many times that our electrical power grid is not read for an all EV society. As of today, March 24, 2024, there are no where enough charging stations across the United States to charge even a small portion of EV drivers cars. According to Electrical Engineers, the national power grid is far behind in providing enough megawatts of electricity to charge all of EV's the U.S. Government is mandating be driven in just 5 or 6 years. America is not ready for mandated EV's. The batteries aren't ready for what the consumer needs to carry on everyday driving, the electrical grid isn't ready for the near future of charging requirements, and the auto industry isn't ready either. .Alan from NC
