i have a frenchie and a pug . there are pros and cons to both but I still would choose my pug over any other breed they are so sensitive and sweet frenchie is a little rougher not as cuddly . so thee frenchie is my husbands which he adores and yes the pug which i’ve had 2 1/2 years and is my baby both loved and spoiled

I have a sweet little cream colored frenchie named " Betty Boop" . She is a small female , almost looks like a mini frenchie . Shes so darn cute, stops people in their tracks when I have her out in public. She loves attention, so she eats up people making a fuss over her . Boop is my first frenchie. This breed while adorable & very clown like behaviors do have health issues. My little girl developed aspiration pneumonia after having her home for only three weeks. She was in critical care for ten days, the vet bill topping 5,000.00. Thank god she survived, but my point is make sure you have the money to cover unexpected vet cost owning this breed. I also went through a period of itchy skin with her. After much reading and dog food changes I got that skin itching under control. I feed her a salmon and sweet potato formula that is grain free. She loves it and no more itching. I never knew what a " gassy" breed of dog that frenchies are . It comes with the territory, so just get used to it. No fun in the car when its hot outside though ! Lol. Frenchies are great little dogs, will always keep you laughing and squeezing on them . Both good for the heart and soul ❤️

They are great family members but are over hyped. The Bostons are almost identical but costs less and have less health issues. You need pet insurance with either breed, just be prepared since pet insurance is expensive on a Fenchie, What worries me about the Frenchie and to a lesser extent the Boston are you becoming a theft target. Whether walking the dog, leaving in car or in back yard---someone is watching. They are a wonderful breed, but the breeders have over exaggerated the features to the point where the dog is put in a position to have ailaments. Unfortunately the hype pushes greedy breeders to exploit causing many dogs to live an unhealthy life. The public needs to send a signal to breeders and the AKC to change standards that would not produce genetic defective blood lines. Yes, if you have the funds you can afford to maintain a Frenchie, but this creates the vicious circle. With Covid being sidelined and people going back to work, there are also a lot of Frenchies at shelters very affordable pricing.

You’re 100% correct some breeders have cheap bloodlines and this causes them to be born with a lot of health issues that could be avoided.

Don’t ever let anyone say you have to spend a certain amount for a frenchie to be quality because I bought one for 1500 and one for 800$ way less than the 10k dogs and there absolutely stunning

How did you potty train him so well? I have 2 Frenchie puppies. The girl is doing better at potty training and has not messed in her crate for weeks. The boy messes in his crate every night. They still have accidents in the house when I am not looking. They are 3 months old. I have had the boy for 3 weeks. HELP!

Training dogs is actually more training the humans to follow the schedule 😊 so we just stuck to the schedule 100% and made sure he did it too. Then it becomes part of our lives! There is a lot more to dive into with this, but that is the simplicity we followed

Limit vaccines, do blood titers, eliminate topical, oral flea and tick medication(toxic) there are natural prevention methods, & Food therapy is very important...Whole food based nutrition w/ supplements, omega oils..

Maaaaaaan, all mine bark lol. They bark at people, dogs, cars etc. Also, 3K-8K is pretty low because these dogs are morphing into different colors, sizes and unnecessary pricing.

Not only are they not worth the 'hype', but they really shouldn't exist in the first place. Breeding a dog that's so screwed up it's average lifespan is 4.53 years is literally animal abuse. If the poor thing has already been born and needs a home, by all means give it the best life possible - but lets not make more of them. Just get a damn mutt - they're just as cute and way healthier. Aside from a few historic working breeds, most so-called "purebred" dogs are inbred mutants with genetic problems - for instance, the King Charles Spaniel have skulls to small for their brains, which cause seizures - or English Bulldogs are unable to give birth naturally, and have to have a c-section. My mom had miniature collies all through my childhood, and most had severe hip issues - and i honestly feel sentimental about miniature collies for this reason, I love them - but even still, I don't think they should be allowed to reproduce anymore.
