Thank you very much for this detailed explanation that all Catholics need to know and I am one them because my mother "God Bless Her Soul " came to me in my dream by lifting her eyes to Heaven and I understood immediately that she was asking for prayers. Since then I pray the Rosery every day for her. Amen Father have mercy on our souls 🙏.

I’m a Christian who believes we go one of two places when we die . But when I was heavy on drugs me and my ex had a house way out in the woods . The stuff that we , and other people experienced was scary . Maybe drugs invited some dark spirits into the house

Drugs often cause hallucinations. But of course drugs are made by the devil, and consuming and focusing on devils goods can perhaps cause such a situation to make you see things. Or like in the video explained, God made you see the spirit from Hell as a wake up call to not continue this lifestyle and turn to God. Bless you.

About 2 weeks ago, my deceased husband appeared to me as I left my chair in the living room to go to the kitchen. It was a very vague outline of him but I recognized it. I couldn’t stop myself before I passed by him and as I did, my arm passed through his and he immediately disappeared. I was startled and upset and prayed right away. Right before this happened I had heard that souls from purgatory may appear to be asking for prayers so I immediately started talking to him and praying to God and for the intercession of the Angels to help him out of purgatory. I hope he lets me know sometime that he finally made it to heaven. He has been gone almost 7 full years.

@@DivineMercy_Official what Bible verse tells us to pray to the dead or those in heaven?
@DivineMercy_Official
@DivineMercy_Official 10 ай бұрын
You might want to read Rev 5:8 and Rev 8: 3-4 where those in heaven take our prayers to the throne of God. The Bible does teach that the saints are alive even though they died on earth. Consider, for example, that Jesus teaches that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is “not God not of the dead, but of the living” (Matt. 22:32; see also 22:23-33) even though they had all died on earth. In addition, Moses is alive to Jesus at the Transfiguration and converses with him, even though his earthly death had occurred many years before (see Matt. 17:1-8).
@DivineMercy_Official
@DivineMercy_Official 10 ай бұрын
@KevinWindom-fz5bc "To pray to" doesn't necessarily mean "to worship" but "to ask." Haven't you ever asked anyone to help you? We ask Mary to help her lead us to her son. To bow doesn’t necessarily mean worship either. Japanese businessmen bow when receiving your business card as a sign of honor. Are they worshipping you? Certainly not. Thank you Fr Chris for this video. I learn so much always about our faith through your videos. I have a question though. I have a niece that claims she sees dead people walking around. Its something that she claims she has seen since she’s been a little girl. Some seem harmless but others are evil. I have told her she should not talk to them and to go to confession and receive the sacraments. She has fallen away from the church. What do you advise she do? I don’t like the thought of this happening in her life!

I was raised Catholic and learned about Purgatory when I was younger. As an adult, I've met many non-Catholic Christians who disagree with the concept of Purgatory. If Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross, then why would a believer need to "suffer" or go through some sort of cleansing period after death but before going to Heaven? It's like saying that the immeasurable sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us fell short, as if what He went through wasn't enough. I must admit, that viewpoint makes a whole lot of sense to me.
@wms72
@wms72 2 жыл бұрын
Haven't you read St. Paul's letter saying, "I make up in my body what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ ...."? Jesus paid the eternal price for our sins. But we have to make reparations for the temporal consequences of our sins. For instance, if you left your wife and went to another country to commit adultery, then felt sorry and went to confession, you would be forgiven. BUT, you would still have to make the trip home and make up with your wife to undo some of the temporal consequences of your sin. Sin also deforms one's soul, by making giving in to sin easier the next time you're tempted. Purgatory removes from our soul the effects of sin already forgiven.
@DivineMercy_Official

Yes, as said below, Jesus paid the debt to save us from the eternal punishment due to sins but there are consequences due to sin and for that we need purification and detachment before entering heaven. As Revelation says, "nothing impure will enter the kingdom of God." How many of us are totally pure? Praise God for Purgatory. God bless kzbin.info/www/bejne/h33ZgYZ-j82agbc

If we trust in Jesus's death and finished work on the cross then we are saved from the penalty of sin...death and have the assurance of heaven. The verses in Scriptures that say we are being saved is from the power of sin in our lives...we will " sin less" by His power. And the verses that say we will be saved are from the very presence of sin which is when we are in heaven where there is no sin. This IS eternal security. Jesus promises to those trusting in what He did, verses trusting in anything we do, is that the moment we put our faith and trust in Him who saves us is eternal life...our citizenship is in heaven.....not Purgatory. Paul clearly states "To live is Christ...to die..Gain" It's a win win for the belie er. I was a practicing Catholic for 44 years...then Jesus taught me all about Salvation in His Word. Love to all ❤

This is a verse from the New International Version (NIV) Bible. It is found in Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, and Luke 20:25. It is part of Jesus' answer to the Pharisees and Herodians who tried to trap him with a question about paying taxes to Caesar. Jesus asked them to show him a coin and asked whose image and inscription were on it. They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "So give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." The NIV Bible does not explicitly say who can return to the earth after death. However, some passages suggest that only God has the power to raise the dead and bring them back to life on earth. For example, in 1 Samuel 2:6, it says: "The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up." In John 11:25-26, Jesus says: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." The NIV Bible is a popular translation of the Christian scriptures that uses the word ghost in different ways. According to some sources , the term ghost can refer to: - The Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity and the source of God's power and presence in the world . - A spirit being, either divine or demonic, that can appear to humans or influence them in various ways . - An apparition or a disembodied dead person, which is not supported by the Bible but rather a deception of Satan and his angels . The NIV Bible does not teach that ghosts are the spirits of deceased humans who can communicate with the living or haunt places. The Bible warns against seeking contact with spirits, as they are either evil or forbidden by God. The only spirit that Christians should seek is the Holy Spirit, who guides, comforts, and empowers them to live for God's glory.

Big difference between Catholic and other's view: The Lord's mediation. It is mandatory. Indeed Our Lady said in Medjugorje: "The important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit, so that He may descend on you. When one has Him, one has everything. People make a mistake when they turn only to the saints to request something" (October 21, 1983).

Yes "only" is the key word. Intercession is always to be in Christ as the Catholic Church teaches. Yes, Jesus is the only way to the Father but there are many ways to Jesus. Have you ever brought anyone to Jesus? If not, you should. If you have, then why can you but not Jesus' own mother? Andrew brought Peter to Jesus. Philip brought Nathanael to Jesus. I brought my family to Jesus... but there's no intermediator b/n Jesus and man? In proclaiming Christ the one mediator (cf. I Tim 2:5-6), the text of St. Paul's Letter to Timothy excludes any other parallel mediation, but not subordinate mediation. In fact, before emphasizing the one exclusive mediation of Christ, he urges "that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men" (2:1). If subordinate mediation is not allowed, please don’t ask anyone to pray for you because prayers are a form of mediation. Moreover, the Greek word used for "one" that St. Paul used here in I Tim 2:5-6 in the phrase "one mediator" is not monos, which would mean "sole," but eis, which can mean "one" in the sense of "principal," or "first in a series." Jesus is the principal Mediator who enables many other sub-mediators to transmit the grace of God to others. Again, faithful Christians act as sub-mediators in Christ when they pray for their neighbors, share the Gospel with the lost, and serve the poor. The Bible says that our growth in faith and holiness is aided by the intercessions of the other members of the Body of Christ (Eph 6:18; I Thess 3:11-13; I Tim 2:1-4), and there’s no better intercession than that of Jesus’ own mother. Jesus comes from the line of David an in the Davidic Kingdom the role of the Queen Mother was important (1Kings2:19). Read about how she had the function of "counselor" to the king in regards to all matters. God bless.

I have a few friends, who are deep down genuinely good but troubled in heart and spirit, who participate in wican/ pagan practices, and I observed a few of their rituals. Mostly just to gain some understanding and perhaps let them see that such ways are most unholy, I however have failed to bring them to Christ, and I fear that my presence at this rituals might have damned my soul even though my intentions were good... Thank you but that is wrong. What your referring to is quite different from the Saints in heaven. Revelation 5:8 tells us about the Saints taking our prayers to the throne of God in intercession. Moses who had died was quite active on the Mount of the Transfiguration God bless

Hi Teresa, it absolutely is .. The danger of these activities, is that it opens us up to this evil realm and into the grasp of Satan, which will then also open us up to many other evils that we don’t even realise. As Father said in this video, we are purposely invoking the damned who are not of the Body of Christ. God bless 🙏🏽

There is no such thing as purgatory show me in the Bible where it says there's a purgatory, if there was a thing called purgatory then you would not need Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins
@DivineMercy_Official
@DivineMercy_Official 2 жыл бұрын
Actually Marvin, purgatory is a result of God's mercy. Forgiveness of sins was won by Christ on the cross but purgatory is not about forgiveness of sins. So that is a misunderstanding. Purgatory is about purification and preparation, and the bible says nobody gets to heaven w/o that, even though Christ died on the Cross already. This explains it all if you really wish to learn. @@DivineMercy_Official show me a Bible verse that talks about purgatory, and show me in the Bible where it says to pray to the Virgin Mary, and show me another Bible verse where it says you confess your sins to a priest, it's not in the Bible.
@DivineMercy_Official
@DivineMercy_Official 2 жыл бұрын
Dear Marvin, the video I sent you 8 hours ago lists 18 bible verses on Purgatory, so if you really are interested in knowing the truth, it has your answer. The authority of the Catholic Church started by Christ (and the only church for 1500 years) has stated a priest is needed through the sacrament of confession to be guaranteed of forgiveness because Jesus said in Matt 18:18; Matt 16:19 and John 20:23 that "whose sins you forgive are forgiven in heaven." Who was Jesus talking to, himself? No, he was talking to the first priests. And it doesn't make sense to grant that authority to just 12 people in the whole history of the world. That's why Apostolic Succession applies. In James 5 James says we are to go to the priest for anointing (v. 14). Then in v. 15 he says they will be forgiven of their sins, and then in v. 16 he says "Therefore, confess your sins to one another." Since he says "therefore" and and he was just taking about the priests, and that fact remains that nobody else was mentioned by James, he is still talking about the priests. This is the teaching of the Church fathers and with all due respect, I think they know a little better than you. Thank you and God bless.

I Puased the video at the 4:30 mark. I have no doubt those people are in heaven, but its cherry picking to be honest with you Father Chris. As the issue is your praying to dead people in which DO NOT GIVE SALVATION, this is whorshiping Idols, thats the real reason people have issues. 2nd Purgatory isn't actually Biblical, as in its not in the Bible, so this idea of 3 Spiritual Phases are suspect as we know Heaven and Hell is real. This is why many Prist wont directly answer the questoin of Purgatory becsuse its not Biblical, so instead they will say it was given by the athority of the church, which is code for Speclative Theology, guessing on the issue of spirits on a topic that is mostly silent. So why even teach it at all?

Scripture says nothing with even slightest stain will enter heaven. I don't know too many people, including myself, who fit that category. Do you? The Bible says we must be purified and prepared to see God so you can only hope Purgatory exists or we are in trouble. Jesus forgives our sins like a good father who forgives his son for breaking the window, but a good father also disciplines the son out of love. To let him walk away w/o any responsibility is not love but false mercy and not the way of God. The Bible warns extensively that we need to break our inordinate attachments and only be attached to God to enter heaven. How many people can say that? That is why Purgatory is a purification and a result of God’s mercy. Purgatory is in the bible: 1Cor3: 11-15 (purified by fire) and Matt 5:26 (pay the last penny). Please see passages such as 2 Maccabees 12:41-46 (this book was in the original canon until it was removed by Martin Luther), 2 Timothy 1:18, Matthew 12:32, Luke 16:19-16:26, Luke 23:43, 1 Corinthians 3:11-3:15 and Hebrews 12:29 as support for prayer for purgatorial souls who are believed to be within an active interim state for the dead. If you are Christian, you believe in the Trinity, but the word "Trinity" doesn't appear in the Bible. Then why do you believe in it, which you must if you are a Christian? God bless.

@DivineMercy_Official I mean, I don't have to assume anything beyond what scripture teaches, and that isn't Purgatory. My point is it's very complicated, but adding to the Bible or tacking away from the Bible is actually forbidden. Thus, Christian should stick to the teachings of God's word. And to your question of Salvation, Jesus brings salvation, he I'd the only way. It's not Mary, Pual, John, Michael. It's just Jesus, God in flesh, the one paid for the sins if the world on that old rugged cross. The one who tells us to seek him, repent, ask forgiveness, invite me into your heart. Evidence of this in a person's life is exactly what the Bible tells us a significant change in them. Which is exactly what repetnece means CHANGE, OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW, TAKING THE DIRTY BATHWATER OF LIFE AND DRAINING IT. Jesus is Salvation, and as the Bible says we believe this through FAITH and HOPE.

Father Alar has a remarkably clear voice that is easy to understand, and yet I find myself wishing that his shorter teachings were available in the closed caption. I live near a beautiful cemetery and I have a devotion to the Holy Souls. I pray for them daily during the day and night. Our 7-year-old grandson loves driving through the cemetery and praying a Hail Mary for the Holy Souls on the days that I am privileged to pick him up from school. Our nickname for Purgatory is "Scrubby-Bubble Land" where people are getting all cleaned up for Jesus and Mary. I am a convert and it took me decades to come to terms with Purgatory. The more we pray for the Holy Souls, the more real Purgatory is for us to understand.

Many of what you are saying is not biblical..3 types of ghost...really....Ecc 9:5 .".For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten" this includes the saints.....and just because you canonise a saint does not give you power to have them accessible and again its not biblical...only God can allow such a thing.... i luv how catholic church give themselves rigjts and powers....

The sin of necromancy is not just “speaking to the dead.” Necromancy is the attempt, through occult practices, to contact and communicate with a deceased person in a way that brings that person back from the dead by your own power, not God’s. Speaking to a saint or to a deceased relative or friend thru prayer is not necromancy, b/c Christian prayer relies upon Jesus, as intercessor between God and man, to facilitate the conversation. When we pray to the saints, it is all through Jesus. Regarding deceased human spirits… although the Church affirms proper veneration of and prayer with the saints, it forbids divination (not divinization) or necromancy like the bible does. Necromancy is seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means.Necro is summoning the dead or other practices meant to seek forbidden knowledge (Deut, Lev). Necromancy is not what Catholics do because the church, through canonization, has guaranteed that these brethren are alive in Christ and not dead! Jesus: God is the God of the living not the dead. Moses was not dead on Mt. Tabor The reason we don’t call up our relatives is because we don’t know their fate in the same way. Even Satan could come in and appear as them (remember the Exorcist). If they appear to you in a good, holy, unexpected way, that is usually a gift from God. But commanding them to come to you is different. That is why Ouija board or séance is wrong and against Church teaching.
