Brother you Don't have proper Knowledge about India's Situation. only 10 percent Private Jobs have salary more than 25k other people are earning so less. please come on ground and see the reality here a company worker or a labour is earning 10-12k a month while a govt employee salary is 40-50K a month. now maybe you will tell me software engineer earning 1-2 lakh a month haha but brother as i told they are only 10 percent people who earn good in private jobs. there is a 4 times difference between govt job and private employee salary which is huge.

90s kids ke parents are one of the worst in terms of giving career guidance and freedom. I as a 90s kid totally followed my teachers and parents blindly. Used to follow them as if they were my guru. Pie to pie I used to listen. Then after studying 5 years chemistry (BSc plus MSc) saw that there was no job. It was a reality. Then again I didn't knew what to do. Because parents told me before that do BSc, MSc, PhD, post doc. But by then I understood the trap. But since I didn't take any decision of my life by myself even after MSc I was confused and didn't know what to do. Only option - prepare for government job. And my parents suggested same. Started preparing but quickly became frustrated but went till interview of two central government exams. Now upskilling in CS to get a job in private sector. Age -28. It's an uphill task. Government job and degree is a trap and a waste of time.

My father is an IRS officer. He did not appear for UPSC but reached there through promotions in over 20yrs. He wanted me to appear for the same because of the facilities he got. But in the last 5 years he obviously says that the work has definitely changed. The work has become more hectic and due to addition of technology, several corrupt(under the table) practices have become non-existant because lots of the records have become digital vs when everything was with files which were lost of settled by "other means". Now everything shows who is doing what. He even says that many are taking early retirement because they cannot keep up with the work. So yes, it is no longer like what it was 20 years ago. Also, there is no longer pensions which was considered a benefit. I was also one of those who was facinated by these things but then reality struck me and I felt stupid that I love what I am studying and still going for something which in my opinion is "boring" and disconnected for what I want. Now I work as a software engineer and my salary great for a fresher and this is just what I am getting with 1yr of exp. The earning potential does not have an upper limit only if you put in the effort to upskill.

I am from Bangladesh. The craze of govt jobs is the same here. 2 years of corona had destroyed the job market. I had lost my job during this time. Then I determined to have a govt job by any means possible. For 2 years I didn't even consider myself as a human, no social life, no affair, no connection with family or relatives nothing. I set only 2 choices for myself, get a govt job or suicide. I totally lived on my savings. On my long time gf weeding's night I cried on my study table, still tried to study on that night. After countless failures, finally on 15th September 2021 I got the joining letter from a govt owned Gas company as an assistant engineer (first class officer), later I also got 2 more jobs but didnt join. The pain and suffering I went through, I wish even my enemy had not to bear this. I will never let my children go through this. Thanks to lord Ram, I prevailed.

Do you know why people are more into these govt job? There are lot more factors that influence people to get govt job, when you actually see the data, the financial support, no good colleges or universities, lack of proper guidance and awareness, region where the students are born and not to get encouraged for more opportunities rather than just a govt job which is much handy to achieve by an exam. People will change with the time by getting proper knowledge and guidance about carrier opportunities in future. Till then it is the only way for many more youths.

Becoming a Indian bureaucrat has very less to do with money..People don't realize the ultimate truth behind this profession. The main agenda of becoming a bureaucrat is to be part of THE small group of POWER ELITE who run this COUNTRY.. thats it. People who have never been part of bureaucracy or who have never met with these people will never ever will b able to grasp the importance of this...The general public will never b able to grasp it. Its beyond their present level of perception..The game of POWER ,POLITICS,ROYALTY & SECRECY is something civilians will never b able to grasp...& if they see it or experience it for once they will either be overwhelmed or awstruck, it will be too much for them to handle...PERIOD.

Nice Analysis for new aspirants. Next analysis could be done on inter-city infrastructure and transport development which includes broken small Roads with plenty of Cars , bike heavy vehicles ,unmanageable traffic due to road size and undeveloped old apartments, basically unplanned city. In my opinion It seems India's higher authorities are majorly focusing on connecting states, Major through National Highways, this is good but we also need to work at ground level. I have been paying tax for 6 yrs and I am getting pot holes on the road, traffic , and rush in the train no use of first class in Mumbai local. AC locals are of less frequency and not affordable. Achha if you go towards Actual Mumbai where celebrities and netaji stay those cities are comparatively more developed than normal urban non metro City...

In my opinion getting a private job with good salary is not easy. You need much more degrees and special skills to get a good job. These degrees coat a lot of money. If you want to do a MBA, IIT or something it is not easy for anyone from poor background. But for a government job you need a basic graduation degree and a proper preparation. Govt jobs have lot more stability security than private jobs not just UPSC but other govt jobs too. But for private if you are not from a very good company or not in a high post security is very low. And also this jobs have power and those who actually prepare for govt jobs are mostly from not so rich family.

The big truth is private no doubt good but for those who can understand and love coding. And rather than coding I don't know there is a good growth or not .

What I have seen is that government job people's are more free than private job. A simple comparison is private and government schools, in government offices a single paper kept pending for multiple days just for one sign , in private company employees should work with full dedication as company owner can fire them any time as earlier happen in corona pandemic.

I think you have no idea of government schools. in primary set up schools have no building , no road connectivity apart from that Single teacher manages whole school. And a government teacher is not just a teacher like private teacher In rural areas specially in rainy season it becomes difficult to reach school . Teaching, mid day meal , milk distribution, elections, census survey , Booth level officer are the tasks they have to perform. you are correct government job has comparatively more freedom.

A well researched video! Another issue is that most of the higher education institutions like Central Universities don't follow job oriented curriculums except the engineering and management departments. A simple batchelor's degree with no specialisation doesn't offer any skill or knowledge to get a job in any sectors. We need direct industry linked courses right after schools in every sector. Even in arts and humanities there should be an ecosystem developed for graduates to be able to turn their knowledge and skill into an employment.

Meko literally manipulate kiya tha to give government exams..where meko ye lie accept karna pada and accept this as career to not to hurt my parents. I'm such a student jaha I cannot study like medical and upse students do, na mai scholar hu...finally I studied myself amd came to realise that I'm more like creative person and jugadu type. I love drawing and marketing related thing, now I'm trying to persue mba. After 12th I started to study for upse but then realised that's not for me...itna padai nahi hota mujse...itna padai to medical mein bhi nahi hai. Im from engineering bg jaha jugad kaise karna hai vi sikha...and during lockdown I realised I want to create my own animation/comic company as Im day dreamer, can draw for 12hrs without getting tired and I can please people, and hence choosed mba so that I can get deep idea about business with rules. You are right, gov jobs are safe, but major drawback is promotion is just based on how much years you are in company not based on Talent and hardwork, you keep regreting that khas risk liya hota and come out of shell and create big. Sad to say, just for societal status some parents force their child to do mpse/upse studies.

Really an eye opener for Govt aspirants. Our youth is wasting their precious years preparing Govt jobs. Those who didn't clear remains unemployed and then they curse govt. Countries like US china and European nations have bigger economies with less population coz their people and youth don't just blindly run behind govt jobs. They have billion dollars firms which generates lakhs of jobs and generate billions of dollars revenue.Actually in these countries there are very less govt. Our youth should focus on skilling and must be diverted on manufacturing, automobiles, IT sectors. I have spent 4 years preparing Govt jobs, due to less vacancies and reservations I was not able to clear the exams. I'm not blaming the system but this is how things work in India. For the several thousand of posts, lakhs of candidates are appearing and I believe our luck also matters in Govt jobs. Nowadays Govt jobs also has become very hectic. I feel sad for our generation who's still desperately looking for govt jobs and wasting their important years.

The biggest reason why Govt. Job exams are destroying Indian youth That is the unproductive syllabus of the exam. Let's say IBPS, which conducts exams for the Government Banks if you look at it's syllabus you will find 10+ level maths and reasoning is asked, difficulty may vary but mostly they are preparing for basic Arithmetic and English, in the mains exam they have Banking Awareness in syllabus but if you look at the question are asked and study material you will find that candidate actually don't gain any knowledge about banking industry it's just basic minimum knowledge now if the candidate doesn't get selected at the end 4/5 years of preparation they don't even have the knowledge and skills that they will apply for private banks and atleast get a job. So even after years of preparation for the banking sector candidate do not develop the required skill and knowledge that they get a banking job in a private bank. So isn't it a complete waste of time and money and human resources? What if the syllabus is designed in such a way that even if a candidate doesn't get selected for the Govt bank at least he can gain some knowledge about the banking industry and get recruited by the private banks. Today private banks don't recruit such candidates because they know that these guys don't have any skill which is necessary for the job role...this is only one examination there are multiple examinations and all have the same thing all candidates are mugging up 10th level maths english civics history geography science that doesn't add any value to them or any skills to them

May be because they dont understand the work or because of frugal living or they believe since I don't stay much in West Bengal - out of sight out of mind. The most hurtful life incident is when my past girlfriend tagged me "illiterate", she being a phd and getting numerous benefits because of SC quota, now she does more of Mamata/TMC slavery and she still believe being a TMC pet, bengal government employee so to speak, is more respectable than IT. This is the sad reality in this life how politics can brainwash people.

Problem is not with government jobs. Problem is with old mentality parents who think government job is the king. Those students who actually feel the need to be in a decision-making heirarchy and the need to make fundamental changes in governance are absolutely right to go after govt jobs. What is wrong is parents forcing their kids, or because of attraction to power and prestige. I've seen 10 year olds saying they want to become collector. "Desh ki sewa karenge". Like hell. They don't even know what homework they'll get tomorrow but somehow know the duties of a collector. This isn't because they actually want to become. But they have been force fed this idea that they've to become collector by their parents and relatives. So I don't think government jobs or even those genuinely interested should be criticised. But I do feel that to become a civil servant, there should be a criteria of 2 or 3 years of professional experience in some field before applying for UPSC. This will force many students to realize that there's a world beyond UPSC. Many will decide to stay back. Only those who are motivated and genuinely interested will come to UPSC.
