This is wrong. The extra force of gravity is cancelled out by the fact that heavier objects have more inertia which means it takes more force to move them. This means that all objects fall at the same speed. The reason the fastest cars are heavy is because they get less affected by drag. The pull from gravity averages out for every car, but drag from air will be more effective on lighter cars, this is because they have less inertia so they are easier to slow down.

Also depends on the wheel and other factors such as axle, aerodynamic, what it is made of, what are the wheels(less friction more speed, more friction less speed, but in real life you will want friction or else your will wheels are just spinning in the speed of 62mph[100kph] but still not getting anywhere [also down force is needed]), etc

Hello friends, I have done many races on this same type of track, and I have noticed that each Hotwheels car runs differently depending on the lane that they put it. This time I am sure that if the F-150 had run on lane 1 or lane 6, it would have won the race or stayed closer

In Puerto Rico,along time ago,alots of hot wheels racing were taking place in every place where a very,very long race tracks could be fited any where and when the cars are going down the track,many or the mayority of they all give maintance to the these cars by developing or looking for the right lubricant oil of there choice so that the car would go faster down the track and Wow do they zoom down the track at high speeds!!and thsts is what really all racers were looking for are cars with wheels that are not sticking out the hotwheeks because the wheels make alot of friccion on the side panels of the track and also they were to make sure that the car were from the series faster than ever (FTE)due to have more slippier axels bcuz of there made of polished stainless steel making them faster.

This video shud have a second part..i liked the analisis of the weight thing going on and it all depends on the manufacturing of the axeles and the even molding of the plastic wheels that sometimes neither the wheels or axels are done correctly to assure a exelent smooth rotation.

I would think that heavier cars would be more sensitive to the condition of the axles, but given good axles, and all other things being equal, the heavier car will go faster by the laws of physics.

keep in mind that weight at the back end of the car spends the maximum amount of time on the downslope ramp. You will see that principle exploited in pinewood derby cars.

An object at rest tends to stay at rest(heavier is slower to start moving). An object in motion tends to stay in motion(heavier will maintain speed longer) obviously variables will affect the basic.

Have done similar experiments with my collection that has a higher percentage of muscle cars. Novas chevelles and vipers do very well, but I have noticed that track stars fantasy castings with wide bodies usually win.

Given the same impulse, a light car accelerates faster to maximum speed, a heavy car will take longer to accelerate. When you no longer accelerate, a light car will brake sooner, a heavy car will take longer to brake. In real life you want a light car, because you have an engine and brakes. In toy car racing you have to choose. If the track is long or has curves, a heavy car will start out losing but will eventually win. If the track is short and straight, a light car will arrive first.

The lighter only one some races because they were like 2 grams apart but if it was 15 grams difference, you would notice the faster ones are heavy.

There are plastic base cars that sometimes faster due to better smotthness on the rotation of the wheels sometime the tip on either side of the axle are kinduv rough because of having excess of metal making in time wheels wobbble because its being eaten or scrapped on the interior of the wheels...if you take an axel and see the tip under magnified glass youll see sometimes deformed tips when being welded of flatered i guess... that the wheel are being scraped in the interior of the wheels and also the wheels are sometimes deformed on a good axel making them dance or shake while traveling down on the track😁👍✌

I get that this is for fun, but the video is wrong, first of all you got the last race wrong, the Senna was heavier. But importantly you completely ignored the fact that all the champions are well above the average weight. To be a champion you must have all the things right: aerodynamic shape, good axle build and smooth wheels and of course there is a reason all the champions are heavy. Heavier cars do not accelerate faster, but they keep their speed better because they have more inertia, which means the air and friction from the track slow them down less than lighter cars.

I don't think your test is very accurate. For true results you need a longer track at least 3 to 4 times longer. Reason for this is because it takes longer for a heavier car to get up the momentum to start rolling. Also you need to only use two lanes to keep it consistent, and race the cars twice switching lanes for the second race. And a couple of things to keep in mind is sometimes the wheels on one car may not roll as well as another, try racing two of the same exact cars and see what happens. Also keep in mind the shape of a car can cause more drag, as in the way it rubs the sides of the lane. So if you do all that I'm willing to bet heavier may possibly win over lighter.

Out from the champs the ferrari is practically all metal...metal base and a metal body with a moving back hatch...in this car it seens to be glued i guess or somthing like that..i have the same ferrari f40 in gold with a moving opening and closing rear hatch.

That short track of yours does not prove which car is overall fastest. Heavier cars will ABSOLUTELY perform better on an open track! As many races as you like to put on KZbin, I'd think you'd invest in some Sizzlers track. You'd get different results.
