Before I bought dividers, I used highlighters to color along the edge of the paper to differentiate between the months.

I color code my time blocks with colored fineliners. Then when I actually do the things I highlight the box. I have chronic health stuff. So it’s really helping me figure out what time of day I’m most productive. As well as patterns so I can better schedule what I do need to plan out. Giving myself more reasonable expectations.

Since I'm a student, I like to color code with highlighters for classes. For example, my microbiology class is green.

This month’s pen only theme speaks to me!! I love, love, love using highlighters and markers in my planner. In fact, that’s my go to. They add interest without making things too cluttered. My favorites are Zebra mildliners, Tombow brush markers, and Zig Clean Color Dot. I highly recommend. You mentioned time blocking in your Google calendar. Have you done a video on how you marry digital and paper planning? I don’t think I’ve seen one, but I may have missed it. I’d be very interested in seeing how you make the two worlds work together. Thanks so much for all your work, Cindy!! You’re awesome!

I know that many of us have given up on goals for the year, but if you haven't, I like to color code by which goal it might be associated with. (my goals are more like things I should prioritize. My relationship, creative time, money, for example.)

i love that - I did something similar in my powersheets (which I've been avoiding lol)

@@CindyGuentertBaldo I found that adding those colors to my regular plans helped me feel less like I'm not doing anything toward those goals (also from my powersheets) and more like, "hey, I am structuring my life around what I care about." Without making it a huge to - do.

Love this, and your plan with mes. I'm going to have to miss it this week, because Rosh HaShanah, but I'll catch the recording. I use highlighters the same way I use other markers - to make my spreads colorful for the headers and the boxes.

I use highlighters exclusively, they are so versatile and beautiful! I use them to “cross off” items on my to do list and in my power sheets, color coding goals. They are my favorite accessory. I have 5 and that’s a perfect amount

Noooo !!! It's just so wrong to use highlighters to cross things off ! 🤣🤣🤣 Agree though - 5 or 6 is perfect number for me too.

For time blocking my work day, I use my highlighter along the time strip only, then shade meetings/calls across the full box with the same highlighter (then write in what the meeting is with pen). Less work and doesn't run the ink out too quickly!

Absolutely LOVE your style as a person 💙 My fave thing to do with highlighters is to do a quick swipe where I need/want color & then write over it - no more smearing! 😁

I've been thinking about time tracking lately and highlighters would probably be my best option for that. My mom gave me a big set of mildliners for Christmas last year and they have me kinda spoiled. 😅
@jordanblankjordanblank46034 жыл бұрын
I categorize. Household schedule, my schedule, misc (birthdays, anniversaries, whatever), time (appointments, purchases), and highlights of the day. The mild liner colors may change, but the idea stays the same.

I’ve been doing a lot more pen/highlighter only weeks this year, and while I haven’t come up with anything “cool” on my own I’ve totally copied several people’s ideas. My hands down favorite was when my teen was going to band camp. I wrote his name in big letters (taking up two lines) with a Mildliner, then wrote in black in much smaller I wrote “band camp”. It looks fucking awesome.

Since I am using the Passion Planner this year I am really enjoying color coding with mildliners. May I ask you.....what are the containers that you have your markers etc in on the shelf behind you? Desperately searching for pretty but functional storage. Thanks

it was from michaels line of cube organizers - this one was a marker organizer that had two drawers in the bottom section - I had two of these organizers so I removed the marker part from the second and stuck it in the bottom!

I currently use mildliners for budgeting. I’m thinking of color coding in my home planner because I’m thinking about trying a dashboard layout instead of vertical. My current way to plan is to use the three sections to prioritize my tasks but I don’t think that will translate well with a dashboard layout. I would like to have time to experiment but Amazon has currently lost my shipment of new mildliner colors.
@CindyGuentertBaldo4 жыл бұрын
I feel like you could adapt your prioritizing with a dashboard layout using color coding and maybe a weekly prioritization over daily? I don't even know if that made sense lol
@Luvs2read334 жыл бұрын
Cindy Guentert-Baldo It sort of does. My plan is to have weekly tasks that don’t have a specific due time on the one side and then have the more specific tasks on the day side. If that makes sense 😂. I just feel I waste too much space in my vertical planner and I would like to simplify it, and yet I plan to add color coding...🙃.

I use my 2 mildliners I have left (after giving some to my daughter) for dr. & dentist appointments and to notate when we get her hamster's cage cleaned. To be able to see those times quickly while flipping through is helpful. Keeping the colors and the amount of times I do it limited is helpful too.

Put the highlighter down first and write on top of it - that sometimes works, and stops the other ink transferring on to your highlighter tip to be smeared elsewhere.

@@JT1358 LOL! the fact that we are all different is what makes us all special! My work planner is basically all my to do's and if I highlight it, then i know its done and I don't have to look at it again. If i just check it off or cross it off then for some reason my brain thinks its still needing some work. :)
