Sometimes it may involve blackmailing, mental pressure, denying basic rights and so on. On the other hand if someone converts to another religion on their own free will that is not forced conversion since the person has his or her consent.

Before the British Missionary came to Nagaland we were following Animism. In my village case, It was just after the 1930's when my grandparents and my whole village accepted Christianity. There was once an incident in my Village back in 1875 when Captain John Butler the political charge of Naga Hills District was going for an inspection in our Village and our Villagers thought that our lands will come under the British and our sovereignty over our own land will be vanished and they will be against our faiths and beliefs, so a group of men's from my village gathered and assassinated him while he was on his way too our village. And so as a revenge the British Army burned our village for 7 times.

I am tribal Christian. Before embracing Christianity, my forefather follow tribal religion which is not Hindu religion. Most of the tribals follows their own tribal belief or animism but it's not Hindu religion. So it can't be term as conversion from Hindu to Christian
