I'm thinking of getting the Holy Pandas and lubing it with olive oil.

While filming switches often isn't necessary it makes the sound a fair bit deeper (although holy pandas already sound great) and can help reduce ping as the material reduces resonance and the nasty high pitch noise created by the top and bottom housings colliding with each other. I'm currently running a tai hoa mykonos keycap set which (while IMO looking fantastic) is quite a high pitched keycap set due to the doubleshot pbt keycaps. Therefore, I'm a big fan of thick films to bring the pitch back down.

Drop just announced the holy panda x so maybe those will be even better
@64BBernard2 жыл бұрын
I received an Email from Drop regarding the Holy Panda X switches. But there is quite a bit of concern among the Drop community, as it involves a person known as Mech27. I wasn't into mechanical keyboards in 2017, so I don't know the story or background to the controversy.

So do you like the Holy Panda or the U4T more and why?

I wouldn't pay a buck a piece for these, I got a 70 pack for sixty bucks from the drop website and I'm assuming they come with a succ job. Find out when they finally decide to show up.

nice video 👍 i have orderet some drop holy panda's now and i cant wait for them too come. I really like how you are telling people about a Classic Panda that i knew allmost nothing about

My 2 cents is that they're great for their sound profile. It's very loud and clacky in a unique way that's very satisfying to listen to. Medium facility and a bump which is alright and not offensive. Biggest problem is using them with hot swap boards. 3 pin really lacks stability especially around any flex cuts on the pcb. I have switches not firing because the pcb flexes and loses connection with the switch which isn't a problem on any 5 pin switch I've attempted.

It isn't just you but what is it with people that got all these keyboard videos and they don't type with more than three fingers?
@gravityhealer2 жыл бұрын
I type faster with 3 fingers around 120 wpm. If I use all my fingers my wpm drops to 50 wpm. So it really depends on how they learned how to type from the beginning.
@DJaquithFL2 жыл бұрын
@@gravityhealer .. Honestly, that's because you don't know how to type. My wife is an easy 200 WPM typist and where I have Holy Pandas she uses Cherry MX Blues but can easily type on any functional switch with all of her fingers.
@DJaquithFL2 жыл бұрын
@@gravityhealer .. BTW I type similar to and about as fast, but I'm not delusional and know I can't type. In school I was taught how to use all of my fingers and then for years wasn't typing much. What you and I do is hack typing.
@gravityhealer2 жыл бұрын
@@DJaquithFL I think it doesn’t matter whether you can type “properly” or not. My little bro types using all fingers but can’t break anything above 70 wpm. As long as you’re not compromising accuracy while typing.
@DJaquithFL2 жыл бұрын
@@gravityhealer .. Your little brother can type we can't. It's that simple. I don't want to troll your KZbin channel, It's just an observation and it's again just not you. Once you start looking you can't unsee it. Honestly, it's hard to trust them as experts on typing and their opinion becomes unfortunately minimized. I'm giving you the same feedback as I would any of them. It's a skill you have it or you don't. Here's the thing I trust my wife's opinion about keyboards and switches. Bottom line she doesn't really care as long as they work .. way more than my perceived notions because I can't type. Maybe that's the takeaway. The rabbit hole that people are going down for no legitimate reason is actually past crazy. It's frankly kind of looney. I felt so guilty about my $350 CTRL Drop Signature Series Ultrasonic Keyboard that I spent an additional $400 modding it, keep in mind about $150 of that was from custom koi wrist rest and some keys custom colored and made by a talented artist on Etsy in China. I'm trying to build everything GOAT for my gaming PC. My old Corsair with Cherry MX Brown is or was as good as what I have now. Granted the new one looks sexy and whatever but damn.
@DashzRight2 жыл бұрын
Short answer, NO. I spent 100€ on them, 5 out of the 100 stopped working after 6 months of use, the quality is up there to the Fekker aliexpress holy pandas.

Why no research on reasoning for calling them holy pandas? Didn’t explain, and no review material relevant to why they’re so legendary
@Turboards2 жыл бұрын
My guess would be because it’s a combination of the “halo” stem with the Panda top housing, therefore making it a Holy Panda, since halo = holy and all, and the hype largely comes from Taeha’s Fjell typing test, again another assumption
@jammies7012 жыл бұрын
@@Turboards thanks for reply! And I meant why people are letting the Drop version get away with using the name when it’s not the original Invyr Panda housing design, even though Invyr make the new housings still I’d get calling them “Drop Holy Pandas” or “Holy Panda v2” or even “new Holy Panda,” but I don’t get why people just call them Holy Pandas when… they’re not the same thing as the original I think the hype came before that, but to be honest I have no idea and my guess is worse than yours. I hadn’t seen that video though, so I’ll check it out
