Ok but the news article you cited isn't really answering the question. Firstly, that was 2016, where an ICE report says that there were roughly 500k-1M illegal immigrants at that time, whereas now that number has been multiplied over 10 times, since, according to a PEW reasearch article I found, states that there are over 11 million illegal immigrants as of 2022. Second, the article is discussing LEGAL immigrants who simply haven't become citizens yet. Not illegal immigrants.
