Thanks Sir. This is the only disassembe video that shows how to remove a spring retainer. All other videos are showing how to disassemble the bolt from high quality ratchets. Appreciated!

I just did this on an 3/8'' drive unbranded Taiwan ratchet almost identical to this one that I got at a yard sale for a dollar. Still has a lot of life left on it & it's actually one of my favorite ratchets.

I have this ratchet but on mine the black plastic has has come off. I can't seem to see what keeps it fixed in place? I have a feeling there is some sort of spring and ball bearing doing that job but I have no idea really. Can you help? Maybe a video taking one apart so I can see how it all goes together? Thanks. Mike.
@teddidit60883 жыл бұрын
Tks Mike great idea. I think mine was missing some parts. That springy washer should snap into a groove inside the wrench, holding the guts together.....

Now I know how to disassemble and oil it. Thanks! WD40+Multioil solved the hardmoving head problem!

No oil is required. Pull the retainer ring apart and start spinning it into the groove as you push it into place. This should take about 10 to 20 seconds. Otherwise, you are doing it wrong. You cant push it directly into place. The ring is split so that you can screw it into place. It's like trying to push a screw right through the thread. of course, you must spin it to travel inwards. Same principle here.

I watched my video again & as I thought there was no mention of putting oil on the split ring or anything else. Just grease on the insides as 1000s of my other viewers have said to do. Your words of wisdom sound most wise but are baffling. . I look forward to your first video. I promise to comment in an equally thought provoking way. Tks for writing...I think

@@teddidit6088 by oil, I meant grease. It was not necessary to load that much grease into it... but whatever floats your boat, sir.

I tried taking one apart, greased it then i wanted to put it back in it’s housing to do that i put the plastic selector in neutral then the plastic broke off🤣
@teddidit6088 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you took it apart more than I did on mine. If that plastic flipper broke you may be outta luck. Anybody else out there have an idea?

You may try looking up the ratchet wrench manufacturer's customer service contact details (email or phone), contact them, and ask them to mail to you a replacement. Nowadays, most manufacturers give a lifetime warranty on the tools.

how the hell did the wd40 fix it? i mean it worked for me but how?
@teddidit60883 жыл бұрын
WD40 seems to loosen up the gunk that jams it. but what do I know. Tks for writin MR!

The mechanism is on backwards. The retaining clip fits inside the seated side of the head.

WRONG JC. Next time look with your eyes not your mouth. Only a pubic hair would fit inside. Make a video instead of trashing somebody & you will get some real cred. Trolls like you make me puke. Or go to harbor freight & buy a new one & shut the ^#@* up. [Ted... flush this turd ]
@TylerSnyder3053 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. These horrible bottom of the barrel roundheads with plastic selectors are not worth fixing. Not long ago a threw a handful of them away that were still perfectly fine ( as good as you can expect such crap to be )
@teddidit60883 жыл бұрын
Yes they are weak. Just went to harbor freight & a new set with sae & metric bits is 6 bucks. So why bother. but if you like to take stuff apart & mess around then ....what can I say.Please consider subscribing for more videos coming soon.....

@@teddidit6088 Well we ought to take apart these chinese crap-tools more often. To study the level of cheapness they are made with. Makes u appreciate our Murican tools way more. The Eagle has spoken.
