Caste discrimination is rooted not in religion but culture. Caste was an ancient system of occupational class delineated in Hindu texts that over the years developed into a rigid social hierarchy. Manusmriti text was never implemented as a law code in ancient India. The caste system as it exists today is the result of developments during the rise of the British colonial government in India. The British Raj furthered this development, making rigid caste organisation a central mechanism of administration. By 1860 the British formulated the caste system into their system of governance, granting administrative jobs and senior appointments only to Christians and people belonging to certain castes.

Caste derived from Spanish "Casta". Its Jaativaad here. Many medieval religious leaders like Chaitanya(founder of Gaudiya Vaishnavism), Kabir, Ramdas etc also spoke against jaativaad and untouchability so they were present before British too. The British increased it more like "Criminal tribe act" etc. In Vedic times it was not present. It was Varnashram which was based upon one's knowledge & Merit and according to that ppl chose occupation, later after Mahabharat period since the downfall of Vedic Era nepotism entered here and it started becoming hereditary and that was early Jaativaad. Later some selfish people to take control over society manipulated ancient sacred texts and interpolated some in the name of Rishis. The manusmriti is victim of such interpolation. It's the finest work of Vedic Period, Ram & Krishna both used to quote it. 50% of it is interpolated today. Read "Visuddh Manusmriti " edition & "RajaRishi Manu aur uska Manusmriti:Manu ka virodh kyun" which explains about the whole story.

Need to build lot much iits for that, with top notch faculty and research centers. It's lot much difficult to find a good college and study. People who can afford go to the us instead of preparing difficult exams like gate and jee plus we have reservation system in that. Education system is really frustrating for a guy from open category and they are literally forced to spend money in foreign country.
