I landed on this channel purely by chance and i have seen the video you have referred to. When i was watching that video, i instantly said, these guys dont understand "Purchasing Power Parity". In other words, no economics knowledge and no finance background. I moved on to other videos that showed more details about ISRO's capabilities, especially the one where it launched its Mars mission at a cost lesser than a Hollywood Blockbuster movie! Hats off!!

Can I add one point ? The indian tax system doesnt allow you to have a lot of income in form of salary, I mean after u are getting approx 15 LPA as salary, for each one lakh addition, you get 5k added to your monthly salary. i.e. 40 percent is deducted straight away in form of tax. This is one of reasons why any of the govt organisations dont pay you more than 2 lakhs (approx). Now comming on to Google, Facebook etc etc, they pay the extra salary to you in form of stocks which are given to you across 4 or 5 years, which u can sell and get the money. Tax is lesser on those. But remember u dont get the same number of stocks every year. Usually u get once while joining or getting a promotion. PS : ISRO does pay you well with added security.

Its very unfortunate that scientists/engineers in government institutions/PSUs dont get anything as overtime allowance, But people in staff level/ blue collars get heavy overtime allowance ( more than their actual salary).

One doubt : Just because the salary is less does not mean we make cheap rockets. People around the world are paid high to make goods cheaper by making it more efficient. The less expensive space missions have got nothing to do with salary. Doing such thing with sooo less cost requires talents.... Even if we were paid high, we would still try to make cost as efficient as possible! Its not like if we get high salary we would make costlier ones. It has to serve the purpose at low cost and that's what is to be praised. Keep making such videos.

Actually, ISRO is a government organisation, so it receives some particular amount of money every year. So let's say a rocket or satellite or any project we want to do costs ₹500 crore, and money we are getting is also ₹500 crores(in 10 crores we have to distribute salaries). We can actually decrease the salary of employees to get project done

About overtime and holiday work you are correct bro, there are some sections, engrs who dont work at holidays etc whereas some do come to office almost all saturdays even on sundays and also public holidays and they are paid the same. The only way to spent more time with your family is by taking leave, thus further there is loss of earned leave. This problem has to change. Overtime should be paid.

Sir...I am a class 11 student, currently under entrance coaching for the jee 2022....I am really passionate about both space and cricket....I want to play international/domestic cricket as well as I want to explore black holes and the quantum realm......so I finally decided that I am gonna work hard for the jee and get enrolled in any good IIT and after or during my college,I will attend selections for domestic cricket teams in that locality, and just pursue it...but I am not sure if I will be able to succeed in cricket....so Sometimes I think I should focus on IIST than IIT and just focus on my space research dream in ISRO if possible......so please reply me about your advice or suggestion,if you see this comment

Friend , I am an Enginnering graduate took admission in 2016 and passout this year 2020. I read your comment and your situation somehow resonted with me. When I was in class 11-12 I also used to dream to play cricket when I would get into College, I studied hard but due to lack of proper planning method of studying I could not get IITor NIT . But Then I decided to take admission in atleast Government College and then whole heartly conentrate on cricket. Somehow I landed up in Government College and as I wished I got selected in College Cricket team ( though generally First year student do not get chance easily ,but I was so desperate that I put all my efforts and Luckily got selected as fast bowler) . The plan was to show good performance in Intercollege tournament , get attention of selectors , further get selected in zonal , perform much harder and eventually get selected in University team which is National Level. But Cricket is a team game and sadly our team could not do good enough to get attention of selectors. Now , I went to Second year , I made some like minded cricket friends and we made a fresh new team of College ( since all the senior players got passout ). And from second year to last year, there was no single day such that me and all my teammates gathered on ground to practise and play cricket. Although everything did not went as planned but eventually we enjoyed a lot and tried our level best. And now in present I have no regrets alltogether because I tried whatever I could do. Speaking about the academics , Playing cricket kept me physicaly and mentaly stable , and I used to utilise all my remaining time apart from cricket to study and somehow managed to clear my courses. ( Now since we get various courses online we can do self study rather than relying on the lazy teachers , especially of Government Colleges ) . By the way I also cleared Gate exam in last year ( not with very good rank but thik hai ). Although ,I have not achieved so much succses , but I just wanted to share my experience. Hope you would find some of the point useful. Now I am trying to get good College through Gate for mtech.

Agar aap india se bahar jaa rhe ho...toh aapko 2 saal mai MS mai+1-2 job mai ghisna hoga tab jakar aapki life achi hogi Germany mai 52000€ annually ke neeche citizenship hi nhi milti toh agar is figure lekar chalenge saal ke 4000-5000€ ke aas paas baithega ek mahine ke Rs3,40,000 milenge Lekin iske pehle joh aapka 3-4 saal ka struggle bahut jada hoga( paiso..ka pressure) agar jhel gye toh definitely india se achi lifestyle miljayegi. ISRO is growing at a faster rate and scientists salary will definitely increase. Talk to a scientist they don't care about money its all passion that comes out. The more successful research will be done, more there salary will be. I am sure that the scenario is gonna change in 2-3 years. ISRO is and will rise to maximum.

Ya , I also don't understand that. Isro scientific officers salary today as per 19 percent da . Salary is around 57,700+8500(Travelling allowance )+11,000(Dearness allowance )+ 9000( HOUSE RENT ALLOWANCE IF YOU ARE POSTED IN A2 city ..) Total =86,200/- Inhand =73,000-75000/- So I don't think it's less ...provided that ..most officers are single when they join ..like 23-25 age group .. And by the time they marry there salary become reasonably good ..as they get around 2-3 promotion ..salary become in 6 figures quite decent ... So it's too enough ..I would love to work with such great elite organisation where I get to do my dream work ..and get paid top decently for that .. Man goosebumps

All ISRO scientists are not PhD holders and everyone is not an innovator there, BE scale salary paid by govt is good. NASA should paywell because their cost of living is high at US. If people says we Indian scientists are paid less they can apply to NASA and if they get selected they can happily move. No one works for free...even though many people speak patriotism and other shit when they don't get opportunity outside.
