I love your reviews Bro, your not trying to please any particular company, your just giving your honest and very experienced opinion and I 100 per cent agree with you regards buying quality products. We all do squirm a little when we see some of the prices that Nash & Jag ask for there products but once you get your head round it and you actually buy there gear you can actually see why they cost a bit more than the other run of the mill products. I would rather be sat on the bank, using and looking at my quality gear thinking, "Jesus that stuff was expensive but its all great quality and I love them", rather than sat there, going "Jesus they look shit and wont last me 5 minutes but hey they were cheap"!! 🤔 Anyway I guess its each to there own and we all have different opinions (and budgets!!) but I do believe if you buy cheap, you buy twice!! Keep these great review's coming and all the best mate 🤟👍

Great review. I also have the Micro pod, lovely bit of kit but like you said, the long up-right just isn’t long enough. I did contact Jag on a number of occasions to see if they could make me a bespoke longer version, but they weren’t interested. Going to machine my own one up on my dads lathe when I get the opportunity. I purchased a 9”bank stick to use instead which gives better reel height and allows to get the rod tips down, but no matter how much you tighten the lock, even with the lock tool, there always seems to be too much movement on the small diameter carbon inner. You can use the inner rod of an excavator bank stick, which I have done, but it’s a shame you have to purchase something else to try and achieve what it should do in the first place. Have decided to go for the super compact pod. Have purchased the base only as already have bank sticks and the large 2+1 buzz bars. I like the new RP-1 pod, but doesn’t quite open enough to my liking, I like to have a bit of space between my reels. You can’t beat single bank sticks but the amount of time it’s took getting them all in correct spacing, could have got the rods out. Sometimes I think we are too fussy for our own good, you’ve got to be happy 😉

Some of my Jag kit I’ve bought 2nd hand, just have to wait for the best condition stuff at a good price. Bought my excavators and 2+1 new. Got the micro pod 2nd hand for £150, not a mark on it, was like new. The super compact pod base I’ve just purchased 2nd hand is in the same condition, like new.

I have this pod and can't fault it. I had the compact pod before but switched over to the nano pod. The compact was great but I use 2 rods which made the pod was really narrow and didn't seem stable. Also with the compact, you can't get your rod tips down if fishing off an high bank. There's not much room for adjustments. On the nano pod I had the same problem with the reels touching the bar. I use a 9 inch bank stick as the back stage stand and they're no where near.
@CaravanCarpers2 жыл бұрын
Interesting point! I use the wider buzz bars so that might make it less of an issue with the compact pod but I don’t think I’ll be buying another I’m going to just keep what I have for now. That’s what I’ve done with mine and it stops it but it is a bit annoying!
