If the commanders were barely getting by teams, you could maybe make an argument that things were just going their way. They're not, they are absolutely destroying teams and they quite literally sat their starting offense vs the browns last week. Good teams beat up on bad teams. Saying that "It's just the cardinals" "It's just the browns" is lazy thinking because the cardinals just beat the niners. The giants just beat the seahawks without nabers.

@@SandevistanSeanzo yup and the thing I'm most happy with is the commanders defense finding its own against the bengals. no, they didn't shut them down, but idk if anyone truly can shut down that explosive offense, but they got some stops when they needed it and you can tell they've been building on that since then. if we can get this defense playing even as a middle-of-the-pack group, it's going to be scary for any team we play, and i mean ANY team...

The defense has not been good, let’s not pretend. It has looked good and played much better the last 2 weeks. Arizona was impressive, the Cleveland game is not that impressive when Cleveland has the worst QB in the entire NFL and are down their star RB. The biggest pick peters got right and slick moves was DANIELS OVER MAYE, and patching up the offensive line. I mean it’s kind of unfair to say Daniel’s over Maye because Maye has yet to start a game and has played a couple of drives in blowout losses but that was big. But you put Maye on this team and I bet the offensive line and defense don’t look nearly as good. Daniel’s keeping the offense on the field and avoiding a ton of sacks other QBs who don’t run a 4.54 40 wouldn’t is a big part of why both units look to have made tremendous strides. It’s easier to play defense when you’re not on the field 40 of 60 minutes and it’s easier to protect the QB when you run the ball effectively. Skins are 3rd in rushing yards. Which is in huge part is also due to Jayden Daniel’s.

If Peter’s was really a genius he would CUT/TRADE/BENCH BRIAN ROBINSON. The man is terrible. Inefficient, doesn’t break tackles, and is slow. It’s crazy watching Ekeler get 3 carries against the Bengals and go for 33 yards and a TD, when Brian Robinson gets 15 carries for 31 yards against the same team. A team with the WORST run defense in the league. He should be 3rd string behind Ekeler and McNichols. Both are averaging 6.5+ yards per carry. Both have the offense looking so much better than when Robinson is in. Ekeler has proven enough to be the lead dog. 1 injured/bad season for Ekeler and everyone thought he was washed because of that and his age. Comes to Washington and runs circles around Robinson who’s in his PEAK athletic prime.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have been terrible over the last 12 games. Jalen Hurts has the MOST TURNOVERS IN THE LEAGUE AT QB in that span. The eagles have looked MID at best. Also the Cowboys are a far cry from what they were even 2 years ago. They have no run game, Dak is like black Kirk Cousins, great at times but never wins the big games in the playoffs. Cowboys constantly play DOWN to their competition. Their defense doesn’t look anywhere near as good as last year. The Ravens would be a STATEMENT win. But besides that, you can only beat who’s in front of you. They didn’t write their schedule. They haven’t even had a true close game since week 2. The final score of the Bengals game was only 5 but that was because of a garbage time TD after Daniels and Terry put the nail in the coffin with the last TD. They’ve averaged damn near 40 points 3 for straight weeks. The respect will come when they do it consistently for a long enough period of time.

The Redskins are the ONLY TEAM of all 32, even the expansion teams like the Panthers/Jags/Texans that has NOT had an 11 win season in 33 YEARS. We have NEVER WON over 10 games. In 33 STRAIGHT YEARS. That is definitely the first real test. Not that the Ravens are great but they have the best D Wash has faced so far and are great against the run so will be real interesting to see if he can handle them. Then they get the Steelers not long after that.

5 games played, we don't know yet. Commanders have weak talent in enough positions that one or two injuries or just a slight fall off could lead to a string of losses. Jayden is amazing and he will probably be great for a long time to come. There just isn't enough on defense to win in big playoff situations yet.

I think the injury argument applies to every team so I don't think that's something to consider, unless speaking generally about everyone else. They're deep at running back and have good wide receivers. I think the offensive line is where they can't afford to lose anyone else, as they are very thin there. I can't help but feel that their kicker is also going to come down a little. He's not experienced and hasn't had much pressure kicks yet.

It's interesting to see how much thing's changes if you're not having consistent success n have to face adversity. Thank God! Someone stepped forward and actually commented on how teams look. Really Cowboy fans have been living with Dak being up and down for years. No one cares about regular season from Dak to many years in the league to be impressed by season games. Who is this CBS Sports crew? Soft as tissue. Why don't they throw Bengals in the mix? I think Bengals have a great team except I see the 0--3 start as a problem if all goes well in the regular season miss the playoffs behind 1 or 2 games on field goals. Steelers 23rd in total offense and 13th in rushing. Expecting the defense to carry them. First 8 games aren't so bad then comes the divisional games much harder schedule.

Jayden Daniels is good, and I like him; however, he will see Lamar one-on-one, and it should be a good game unless Raven's defense plays its A-game and shuts Jayden down. Washington coaches know it is a difference going against a Super Bowl-winning organization! The Bengals or Cleveland have not won a Super Bowl; therefore knowing how to win against a quarterback like Jayden was difficult.

Going into the season the Skins were not notable either. Left for dead at the bottom of the league. So for them to be doing what they are us actually worth talking about. Might not be the best, but they are they best team in the East and that makes them contenders.
