Are Lighted Nocks Worth It? | Pros / Cons / Deer Recovery

I switched to Halo nocks this year. I have heard some people say they aren't as bright as the Nockturnals.. but a big reason I switched was just convenience of use. I really didn't like how you have to "half nock" the Nockturnals. The amount of times I accidentally nocked too far and turned on the light, or wasn't confident that I had the nock seated in the right position was a big annoyance. Especially since you then have to use a tool to turn the light back off. A couple months before season I shoot with only my lighted nocks and shoot with my broad heads a lot of that time too, just so I'm practicing with my exact hunting arrow as I can. With it being hot I shoot a lot early morning and late evening in lower light, so its also nice that the Halos turn off when you nock them so you don't have to shoot with a light glowing by your face or turn them off manually each shot.

They help me far before the hunt. Although I can see my white fletchings, lighted nocks help me see slight wiggle during flight while fine tuning. They definitely let me know what minor adjustments I need to make.

Thanks for the comment and the patriotism! Arrow tuning was something that I forgot to mention, but with a slow motion shot of a lighted nock it's hard to ignore tuning issues. It's helped a ton.

im done buying lighted nocks, i lose my arrows with them just as much as i do with regular nocks after a pass-through, it will just cost me $10 less to lose the arrow without the lighted nock. i have lost 2 of my last 3 lighted arrows on deer pass-throughs. i even went back after dark to see if i could see my lighted nocks, and recover my arrows..... no go. where i hunt its real thick briars that are a couple feet tall and also tall grass. i never have a problem finding my deer (since i been using swhackers) but its always a chore to find my arrow lighted nock or not.

I got the DeePower lighted nocks on Amazon. 12 for $26 and they ALL work. Why pay the ripoff prices the other companies sell. 3 for $29. Really?

I've heard mixed reviews on those but haven't used them myself. I'd use them if I had tested them, I just have a bunch of nockturnals already. Thanks for the comment.

i bought a 6 pack of the deepower nocks and they only worked for a few shots each, went back to lumenoks, now im just going to go back to white or hi viz yellow standard nocks.

@@yourmomma2995 bummer. So far all of mine have worked with literally 50-60 shots on a dozen different arrows. Wonder if you got a bad batch? Or I’m just lucky so far? Reckon I will know in a few more shots.

It seems hit or miss with some of the kockoff ones, but again I've never used them. White or yellow vanes got me really far when i first started hunting, can't knock you for sticking to what works man 👍
