I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but with all the invention stuff you got from the sites, you could invent the t2 rigs yourself pretty easily. You'll have the t1 rig bpos anyway so might as well invent them. Just to reiterate - totally glued to this thing you are doing. It is super. Not only the idea, and the execution- but the way you talk through everything is super engaging.

15:26 it's not valuable to Bill and what's even worse is that specific can can be hack after the npc show up ans blow up the site. So Bill could have picked another can, bm the site and come back one or two minutes laters to hack this can. But it's what make this challenge so special and so fun to watch : you and us by watcking keep learning things on eve on different aeras of the game.

Hi there, I've discovered the rule of 8 and some of what you say is slightly misunderstood. The number "8" in the "before 8 its bait" rule is only true for red-core hacks. You should replace the 8 with 7 for orange and (I believe) 6 for green core hacks, presumably because the maps are smaller. I didn't put too much attention towards orange/green core hacks because I thought they were pretty easy anyways. There's two cases when the rule doesn't apply: 1. Spawning in the middle 2. Spawning in a 3+ connected node Both of these exceptions are more common for yellow/green cores due to smaller mapsizes than with the red-core hack. I remain that for red core hacks the chance of this happening is well below 5% though. I have yet to find a hack which I cannot explain with my above explanation, where I should add that the (1) exception case is a bit inconsistent.

Hey fair enough. Hope you don't think I was dragging your work too much. I'm sure you're right about this. My point in the video is that, while the rule of 6 is something you can learn in 5 seconds and apply perfectly, "before 8 it's bait" has a bunch of different dials making it feel very unreliable if you don't know all the edge cases. You need to know what counts as a "middle" start, you need to remember to look for how connected your starting node is, you have to remember different rules for different difficulties of cans, etc. I myself did not know all the edge cases and exceptions until you posted this comment, and I had been led astray several times in the past trying to apply it. Overall, I still feel that it slows a novice/intermediate hacker down too much if they try to apply it perfectly and it's too easy to make a mistake and get led astray. Like I said though, I'm sure you're right. And I'm sure an advanced level hacker tackling things like Superior Sleeper Caches will be well served by learning all the ins and outs. Some time after making the video I realized that I made a mistake: I made a research video and presented it as a tutorial. Whilst I pushed the boundaries of knowledge on how the hacking minigame works, I never really translated into usable easy to remember strategies. On average you won´t be able to open the entire grid, because on average opening a node loses your virus´ health. This is why you need to focus on finding the core as fast as possible. 1) Ignore numbers early on, if you happen to come across a 1 I usually open it, but 2's are definitely not worth chasing. GO FIND THE CORE. 2) Never fight a 40-60 or 20-90 defense system in an area where the core cannot spawn yet, (try to) go around. 3) Use the rule of 6 to get into the core-spawnable area. 4) Play the odds, don't fight a 40-60 or 20-90 if it uses a lot of resources and you could still look for the core elsewhere. Yes, you might never be able to kill that defense system, but you won't have to if you find the core elsewhere. 5) Yes. Sometimes the before 8 it's bait rule doesn't work, either learn when random core-spawns happen, or accept that you'll lose some hack to it. However, don't disregard the entire strategy because it doesn't work 3% of the time.

Get loads of condensers in high sec. Fit up your corvette. Ran 3-4 hi sec data sites last night - got lucky with 18 or so condensers. My null sec alt runs relics and data sites - relics are far more lucrative and condensers never drop. (And don’t take the junk items, they waste space. The valuable stuff has almost no volume) In low sec, the neuralink drops from the central can of the ghost site, which actually doesn’t die after the rats turn up. The other cans have different loot…

I really did think those condensers were HS only drops. I guess they do drop in LS after all, but you'll probably get there faster popping those scanners into your corvette.

If condensers are more common in HS data sites, would it be legal in the rules to head to high sec in a corvette with a probe launcher and data analyzer to run them? Also, one thing about this challenge that is great for a newer player is that all the extra loot you are making would be great to fund omega for a month.

Drop the shield and install a cargo scanner to cherry pick the condensers and save you a ton of time. Those decryptors and datacores are good for your blue print copy research tech II equipment.. so your data analyzer I becomes a tech II and makes your hacks easier.

I was just reading forums of people bitching about not being able to find these condensers. Someone said they are more common in low level sites in high sec. They are only expensive because people don't run those sites in favor of low sec relic exploring.

Condensers are loads cheaper than they used to be cos you can now buy them for LP. Prior to that the green goo condensers were 6-7mill each. I remember fondly opening hi sec cans to find 36mill of green goo …. Now it’s only 6mill. If you fit a cargo scanner it doesn’t take long to check out hi sec data site cans - but condensers aside, they have almost no loot of significant value. So soul destroying if you don’t take a cargo scanner

Unless you want to make that ligature analyser first, you should fit your corvette to scan data sites and go into hisec … condensers are pretty common there. Sorry, no alternative really

Obviously you can sell the "junk" after you're done with the run. It clearly wont be useful for the run, but you can always sell the stuff and make some videos of you losing ships with the isk you earned during the run. Actually, that might be a good way to wrap up the run, showing people how efficiently cash out fw lp and turn it into ships and modules to pvp with. Glad you managed to score some of the items you were looking for though. Seems like getting that astero might not be a terrible idea.

This hacking is nothing and it will only get harder. AND WE ALL ARE HERE FOR THIS GRIND. You were spoiled with good luck from the start. But now I'm cautiously concerned abut future of the series.
