Hypergamy is a real thing. A woman cannot take care of a man for a long period of time. She'll resent the man and will leave. But nowadays, a man's value has been diminished to money. So a question you should ask a woman as soon as you encounter her is, "How much does your submission cost?". Because your respect is only tantamount to the amount of money in your account. A man is only loved on the basics that he provides multiple things; whereas a woman just have to look good. That's why a billionaire/millionaire can marry a girl who's not working and it'll not be a problem but a woman who's rich will NEVER marry a jobless man and still give him the respect he deserves. I love the show and I'm enjoying it but I think when it comes to some of these delicate discussions maybe you guys can invite one married man or woman to be part of the panel to bring some real life into the discussion. I laugh at some of the opinions because I feel you are young and don't really know what marriage entails. You all are just speaking from what you think you know and what you think but marriage is more than that. I laughed hard when Scanty said he can marry a self made woman who won't cook, wash or do anything in the home just because she has money. When you get married it's a different ball game. I think a married person will share a real life experience because they are actually living it.

It sometimes depends on the attitude of both Partners. I know a male lawyer and a WAEC official(who is high ranked) and they've both married for long. They're very fun to be with, they understand each other perfectly and the woman is still submissive to the man. I also know a Female lecturer from one of the universities who is a Professor and her husband works in the corporate sector and they're both really admirable, the woman is higher in terms of academics but very submissive to the man. I know a lot more but I really think it has to do with attitude.

This whole double standard is based on the fact that a man's traditional role primarily demands money and woman's role doesn't. Which means that if the woman is having more money even if the man is doing well, she must continue to play her role despite. Also you can add your money to the man's so that he plays his role even better. Women must know that their not being submissive because they are expected not to have money but because that's their role. Marriage is about role playing of both feminine and masculine energy.
