A massive benefit that wasn't mentioned: rejection of electronic and radio frequency interference. This especially applies to starquad type cables from the reputable brands such as Mogami, Van Damme, etc.

Then he goes on to mention that yeah actually you don’t get any hum/noise/buzz on the mogami. He fails to mention that mogami cables are reference cables - meaning they don’t alter the tone of your sound!!

Slight disagreement, the Mogami cables reduced a 18k-20k hiss I got from mid priced cables. For me it wasn't just durability, I got more headroom, less noise, and more clarity with the Mogamis.

I was dealing with some hum and buzzing in my studio (very quiet, but still there and bothering me), and some times even with radio interference from cellphones and led/neon lighs. I tried a lot of different cables on all prices, with little results, but Mogami seemed to work well. I didn't want to replace all my cables with Mogami Gold cables because of the huge price (picture a 24 i/o channel interface, using a patch bay to connect to a lot of outboard gear, which means around 48 cables - plus cables for instruments and microphones). So, I researched a bit and I found out Mogami sells cable on bulk. Their best, better shielded, most quiet cable, is the Neglex Quad. Buying it on bulk drastically reduces the price. I got 100 meters (around 328 foot) of their Neglex Quad cable, and the around 96+ Neutrik Gold connectors (a mixture of TRS and XLR) I needed from Sweetwater. I even got a very good discount because of the big amount of cable/connectors by contacting my Sweetwater rep. I just had to wait around 6 weeks for them to have all the order ready to ship. I had to solder everything myself and that took a big while, but I ended up with around 60+ cables of the equivalent (or even better because of the Neglex Quad) to the Mogami Gold line, for a very small fraction of what it would had costed me to buy factory made cables. And it was even better, because all my cables are made to fit my exact length needs. That being said, all of my humming/buzzing/radio-interference problems went completely away. So, on a medium to big scale (lots of connections and/or big lengths), yes, they make a huge difference.

Disagree with a lot of what you said. You can absolutely hear the difference. This is the rule of thumb: if it is for recording, use Mogami gold. For live performance use LiveWire Elite. For home use / hobby use the cheaper cables will do fine. But if you are recording you absolutely want as little extra noise on the signal as possible. Using a cheap cable on expensive gear is like driving a Mercedes on 4 donut wheels. If you’re a “struggling artist” you shouldn’t be dumping hella money into gear. All you need is your computer and a USB mic, take the rest of the money to a studio to record in but come up with your ideas on your laptop in your home.

Don't listen to this dude. The sound quality improvement in Mogami cables is very noticeable compared to cheaper cables. I suppose if you have cheap monitors like this guy cheap cables will do...but for high quality monitors trust me they will sound bette with high quality cables.

Thanks. I really appreciate your reply. I have Adam T7Vs and I don't want the cables to be the weak link. I have some buzzing in the woofer and in the high end that isn't there before the cables are plugged in. The cable's balanced and not cheap, but pretty basic. We'll see how much difference there is--Mogami cables on the way.

if its well soldered and basic standards are upheld it doesnt make any difference. You can think of expensive cables like the popcorn in movie theaters. Thats where they make most of the profit cause the margins are so high. Thats my opinion though.

Bruh you are absolutely wrong. I discovered there quality by accident. I was under my desk replacing cables (when I first started back in the 90's) I had some hosa cables and i noticed when I unplug the hosa cable then plugin the mogami cable in the volume and clarity was louder and clearer. I have probably 2,000 dollars work of mogami cables. I hate buying new gear because I know I have to buy cables. I wouldn't use anything else. So, again I been doing this since 1994 and you are wrong there is a difference.

Or just buy World's Best Cables that use the specific Mogami parts you want. If you don't already have the soldering iron/solder and crimping tools, The expense of Mogami wire, Neutrik plugs and tools will come close to the cost to outfit your studio with World's Best ... + time is money, saving many hours and potential headaches -- and not having to worry about beginner mistakes causing problems in your audio chain.

TLDR: Mogami cables are absolutely worth it.. Just not officially branded Mogami -- Get World's Best Cables that use all the same parts for less than half the price. You're not getting anything extra with Mogami brand except an emptier wallet...but you're getting all the same benefits using their wire w/ neutrik plugs.

I love Mogami cables, but the only thing I really hate about them is they don't get much less in price the shorter they are. Drives me crazy that a 15ft cable is almost the same price as a 6 ft or even 3 ft. Doesn't make any sense at all. As far as how much bette they are than other cheap cables, I have no clue, cause I only use Mogami. I spent thousands on my equipment and I didn't see the point in going cheap on the cables. For me it was a piece of mind. I know if I ever have an issue they will replace them for free and Ive only heard great things about them. So Im not going to say this dude is wrong though, cause I honestly never compared them to anything else.

Why buy Mogami cables? I'm about to buy them myself and I feel this video kinda misses some important points. 1. Lifetime warranty - They will replace the cable if there is a problem at anytime for the original owner, no questions asked. A company that 100% stands behind their product. 2. High noise rejection (hum, buzz, bumps, etc.) - They reject noise well, good if you're in a location with a lot of electronics, power cables, noise. If you bump the cable, it will reduce the noise picked up. 3. Professionally tested and reviewed - Pros have tested the cables over and over, they're used in pro studios, they've been reviewed many times and the reviews are nearly all positive. 4. Top quality connectors - The highest quality connectors are used. You want to get a cheap xlr cable pin stuck in your expensive hifi equipment and have to send it back for servicing? Waste of time / money. 5. Cost - What? Why are you listing cost, these cables are expensive!?! Yes... the cost is high, but it's a one time purchase. Why are you still buying cheap cables and paying to replace them? PS: I'm not saying Monster Cable is good rather Mogami isn't Monster Cable.

@@feliperudas Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, that was actually a main reason I looked into the Mogami cables. I have a lot of electronic equipment (monitors, pc, dac, midi keyboard, mic, etc.) within relatively close proximity and I was experiencing line noise (hiss or hum) and even occasionally some clicking from other devices nearby which was unmistakable when the signal was amplified. I replaced my cables and no longer experience that using the Mogami cables. I've seen the Amazon cables compared in a few videos, and against Mogami, and what I saw was that the Amazon cables carried more signal noise and also picked up noises that occurred "in line" much more easily than Mogami. and again high end cables dont get you better sound. they make you able to get closer to the nature of your sound which should be mostly free from any kind of noise. so while we study the myth we have to correct again. its not about getting "better sound" its about getting closer to the nature of the sound which is pure. so the calculation isnt about lifting my quality from 100 to 150 percent, its more about reaching the full 95 percent possible which is what expensive cables are for. now you can go invest without panic, your money wont be wasted.

Cables do sound different and in the hi end hifi world where people spend ten thousand for an amp they spend hundreds on a single xlr that are proven to sound better. It's the same in the pro audio world, studio's costing hundred's of thousands equally want to make sure every component in that studio is the best including cable's. Vovox, mogami and others are what they will use and not only are those cables high in quality and durability with years of development, they also sound better. To some home studio users those cables may not be considered necessary. But as you upgrade your setup when your making money it makes sense to do the same with cables. Try getting your hands on a VOVOX Sonorus Direct S cable and you will see.

Go with mystarsound cables, I’ve used those in live sound for over 15 years and they have worked well. They’re 35-45 cents a foot depending on the amount of length you get. They use silver shielding but copper signal lines. For live they’re just phenomenon, for studio quality strictly go with mogami.

For guitar, my mogami gold sounds WAY better than the fenders and Ernie balls. I know there are many in the middle that I skipped over but the sound is way cleaner. It’s night and day to me.

ppl should stop being dumb and start thinking easy and logical. sure a 120 euro cable wont get me better sound, my sound is related to a lot of things but a cable?? come on, how should a cable make my sound better??? think ppl, please. its the same signal running through BUT.... and that is way more important, I further get rid of disturbances and types of additional noises I dont want in my signal... so what I get with more expensive cables surely isnt "BETTER" sound but "MORE ACTUAL SOUND" wihtout having to deal with all else I dont want.
