I remember those days, well, and I also could not wait for the new clad coins to come out. Uncirculated silver dollars were $1.75 back then, and the US was still on the Gold Standard, so there was very little money circulating then (and the US was not How Many Trillions in Debt?). I digress. Morgans are great, I have thousands and I will get even more in the future. Cheers.

They are absolutely 100% worth stacking. 99 times out of 100 you are going to be paying more of a premium for ASEs than you will for a Cull Morgan. And, if you aren’t in a rush to sell them over the years, you’ll always be able to sell the Morgans for a higher premium, especially if you sell a few at a time. Bottom line: it all comes down to what you are paying. Let’s just say, for example, the Morgan dollars you featured in this video were available as well as common date ASEs, & both were selling for $4.00 each, over spot.. I’m buying the Morgan dollars 100% of the time over the Silver Eagles. Great video! 😎

I agree with you while you may have reached your ideal or comfortable 'goal weight' in silver. since even a bit before I achieved my goal weight, I started getting sick of seeing ANOTHER tube. ooooh...a tube of eagles is a bit different from a tube of buffalos or maples...ooooh... and I started making my silver journey more about aesthetics and paying a bit more of a premium on things I really liked or loved, like libertads of random weights and year/designs. also ultra nice 10 ounce pieces and various interesting pours and whatnot. I think as long as you just keep saving silver of any kind, you are doing great, keep going with whatever you like and do it within your budget. I would never suggest starting your stack with morgans unless you get a good deal and have done a bit of research so you dont get a fake.

Well, I happen to respectfully disagree with every point you made, since you asked for opinions. First, I consider them NOT junk silver, because they do not follow the dime-quarter-half math of other junk. Very, very few people get excited about a 1957 quarter, it's just a disk of 90% silver. But many people get excited about an 1883 silver dollar and maybe they think about what a neat thing they are but it WON'T BE those people buying piles of them from you in the event you need to liquidate. If you own culls, you are gonna get paid cull price when you sell. And that goes both ways, when you start romanticizing who held the coin and what is was spent on in its prior live(s) Second, 90% is not a *preferred* composition of silver. it is an *accepted* form of silver. I have zero objection to stacking non-silver-dollar junk silver and even SDs. They are beautiful coins to look at, everyone should have 10 or 20 of them, but I believe .999 silver is and will be much more liquid. I feel the same about Eagles. Everyone should have 10 or 20 of them, but not hundreds. But the biggest problem is that there are so many counterfeit silver dollars out there. In general, I don't think you can be anywhere near the bullion business without having a Sigma Verifier machine or at least access to one. I have plenty of junk coins and .999 rounds and 10 oz bars, my favorite form. I used to have about 150 silver dollars and probably sold 100 of them. Again, with respect for your views.
