Just happened on your site. I have lived in the Sacramento suburbs for more than 40 years. This is the first time I am aware of a night market here. The only night markets I have been to were in Malaysia. We call it Pasar (Market) Malam (Night) and there are food offerings and sundry goods than you can ever imagine. The stalls are set up along the city streets. They move around from different places within the city. I wish there are night markets here with similar vibes to feast on. Thank you for sharing.

That's sounds so cool! While the American night market scene I think is very different from the Asian ones that inspire it, I still think it could be a fun visit if you're ever wanting to check it out!

Your videos only get better and better 🎉 awesome food menu additions - it’s so interesting because yes I’m good obsessed and living in the middle of nowhere west Texas - so so happy with your shares 😊

You are too kind 😭 I’m truly trying to make higher quality vlogs so I appreciate you noticing! I love food vlogs so here’s me squeezing some of that into my artist vlogs hehe. I know there are some Foodieland locations in Texas! If you’re down for a weekend trip or something, might be something fun for you to try out

Wow, I LOVE your booth space. Totally goals on the cohesiveness. Wonder if you put a small battery fan on the stickers it would help discourage the gnats? Regardless so awesome and happy birthday!

Happy birthday!! Although I'm technically 1 day late 😂 (or not..I just realized after writing this comment that some time had already pass from when you initially film this 🙃🙃). I'm wondering, do you make more profit selling on conventions or night markets on average? 🤔 because from my own observation, a lot of people who makes artist alley vlogs tend to be more negative towards night markets than the usual convention events but since you like them a lot I kind of wonder why?? 😮
@kelsiekishidraws5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the birthday greetings!! 🫶🏽 Yes, this is a very interesting observation, and I’m not sure if I have the most accurate data for 2 reasons: 1-I haven’t done TOO many conventions compared to night markets and other standard local events and 2-I don’t sell fanart. I think because of my business model (original art and apparel) I tend to sell pretty well to the general audience. Also paired with the fact that I only do local night markets, I don’t have the additional costs of overnight stay and far travel. Overall, I believe my satisfaction with night markets stems from the fact that audience is slightly different from a standard anime fan art artist. But these are just my personal thoughts. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤗

I realize I didn’t answer the original question LOLOL. As for which show I profit more from, honestly it just depends on the size of the show and audience. I haven’t done many multi day cons and most night markets I do are 3 days.

First of all, Happy Birthday! Second, congrats on a successful event 😊 So I’m like slowly starting to get into the night market event and I was just wondering, lights. What do you recommend for lights? Also…how were you able to attach your mirror to your booth? lol
@kelsiekishidraws5 ай бұрын
Thanks you so much for the birthday wishes and kind words 🙏🏽 For lights, we actually use barn lights from Home Depot 👀 it’s why they’re so bright!! We secure the mirror with zip ties! The lights too. They hold up really well to the wind and elements

AAAAAH it's great how your family members always coming out to the night markets And happy birthday! Maybe Oni Girl t-shirt didn't sell as well this event because the tote blocked her from view? Finally, did you see repeat customers, or have people recognize you from other events?
@kelsiekishidraws5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! 🫶🏽 I agree about the oni girl. I think our placement of it affected sales. I’m not super mad tho cuz we have very little stock of her anyway rn LOLOL And yes to both! I get a good number of repeat customers, some people even show up wearing my merch! Also plenty of customers say they recognize me from other events. I focus mostly on local events so I think this is why.
@næntsi5 ай бұрын
@@kelsiekishidraws that's great :D you usually mention repeat customers and I didn't hear or missed it in this one, so I was curious. Ashley from Le Spirit Designs has mentioned in the past that SacAnime is also a weird con, where the longer she's continued to vendor, the more she's continued to build a loyal fanbase. Do you think this Foodieland Sac is getting the same weird effect (in a good way), the more you return the people come back to support you?
@kelsiekishidraws5 ай бұрын
@@næntsithat’s an interesting observation and question! I would say it’s not so much as loyalty right now as it is familiarity, though I do find a good numbers of customers attend my events to visit me for sure. I think I’m at a point where I’m building brand recognition, saturating my local area so customers see me often and become more familiar with me and my art! I think that in turn makes them more compelled to purchase from me now that they feel like they recognize the brand (the same way seeing ads for Coke makes me want to drink a Coke LOL). The night market crowd is different from the con crowd-it’s less about community and more just about shopping. But I do think returning to the same show the next year, especially with new stuff, definitely increases sales!

I can't watch the video with sounds at the moment but do u know if u really do need to carry a clear bag? It says on the website but I'm seeing no one carrying clear bags. Or can I carry those kind of bags that holds my water bottle and other small things, for ex wallet, sunscreen, etc? Plz someone answer back soon
@kelsiekishidraws2 ай бұрын
As a vendor, I'm not sure because I have a different set of rules to follow. Since this response might be too late, as I was very busy at another event this weekend, for future reference, I would refer to the website and follow along as best as possible.
