Are Nth Metal Detectors Worth It?

Trying to settle the question what is the fastest way to level your artifacts and if the Nth Metal Detector's are worth their value on the marketplace as well as in game.

I think it was during the the Metal Part I or II episode where I level’d an artifact from level 1 to 160 with Nth Metal Detectors only, took 3 weeks of grinding a few hours a day probably, more or less. Compared to these last few days where you get like 25k artifact exp per hour with Nth Metal Detectors because of the bonus artifact exp boost, cheers!

So how do the detectors work? I just came back I’m only t1 about to be t2. Can I use them now or will I not get 5/6 caches? Should I save them til a higher level?

Nth metal drops won't be tied to your cr level so you can use them now if you want. You just have to make sure you are in combat killing npc's throughout the 1 hour duration to get the full 5-6 caches.

Is more nth metal earned when your cr is higher? I’m at 262 and getting less in world and caches.

nth metal will be the same regardless of level. The only xp that changes with your cr is your salvage augment xp

it's pretty much a crucial element to artifacts is the lower breakthrough chance and needing seals. The 140 & 160 breakthroughs took me 26 seals of preservation. It's a little bit easier now that catalysts cost MoV but that's alot of marks you'll have to dumb into it without seals.
