Finally, a voice of sanity is arising. Dems current values are misaligned with most Americans. I remember when Republican were losing and the late Rush said, we need to stop pushing losing agendas and start winning again. This landslide is extremely costly to Democratic candidates who put a lot of money to be elected. And to be out of a job because of issues that not only do not resonate with average American voters but alienate (repel) us. Even in this interview the guest had to parse his words and walks a verbal tight rope feat in order not to offend a small but loud minority. The American people have sent a strong message. These policies that the Dems are pushing - open boarders, men beating woman up, the economy for regular Joe is disastrous but yet he is hearing that illegal are getting food and board - and if Joe doesn’t pay that parking ticket his car is liable to be towed????? Drop these agendas asap. Some people left to the right. Good luck getting them back. All business owners understand that it is hard to get a customer. So, when you lose one it is hard to get another one and almost impossible to get the original one back. Dems got a lot of work to do. But I am pessimistic about Dems being able to course correct in these 4 years. You are going to have to the conclusion that it is not about being silent about your stance, it coming to terms that those stances (pronouns - open boarders - soft of crime) was exactly why the American people ousted the Dems across the nation. There are many unemployed Dems because the power that be (or was) were not touch with your average American. And just like Pathmark, Toys R Us, etc, are out of business. And those that are in business are in the Red. Or moved over to the Reds.

The Progressives did cause a huge problem. Identity politics is a loser but I'm not sure his focus to a wealth transfer focus is a winner either. Californians have had a very progressive tax structure for years that has funded a very expensive safety net programs and wealth transfers only to watch the situation deteriorate significantly. Highest top income tax rate, capital gains treated as regular income, the third highest minimum wage in the country and what did it buy us? Growing homeless population while we increased our investments in homelessness to $24 + billion, the second highest level of unemployment in the country despite being the fifth largest economy in the world, AND the highest rate of poverty of any state in the country when you factor in cost of living. And a $75 billion deficit during a strong national recovery. Prop 3 which supported gay marriage passed overwhelmingly but the voters said no to a minimum wage hike. no to rent control, and yes to increasing the penalties for shoplifting and drug possession. Some voters are realizing that good intentions aren't the same as good results and they said no to a Berkeley Democrat.

We need "progressive economics" and not social engineering. Fix this illogical debt based eco system and then much of the social issues will evaporate. The value of all the inventory created in the entire world will always exceed the value of the money paid to create it. The difference is the profit margin, but it also represents a purchasing power deficit in the system. The system on its own cannot turn a profit by virtue of the lack of money to buy all the inventory. Lending money to a system that cannot turn a profit is called a bad loan and said system will with mathematical certainty default on that loan. As bankruptcy ensues all wealth will gravitate to the top like a game of musical chairs. Every country works for a profit using debt based infusion. Every one is in debt. Not one winner. We are not going to solve this arguing over who can use the bathrooms to relieve themselves.

But to play the devils advocate laws must be enforced and if one is not mighty enough to enforce the laws, then the laws are worthless. Therefore one could equally argue that hiding underneath all of our ethical laws is the law of the jungle. To me that is the dilemma. Based on Friedrich Nietzsche’s quote, “Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you,” Do we really win anything if we become the monster? Seems like one monster simply passes the baton to the next runner in humanities relay race to hell. A moral dilemma/paradox.
