Are PRS Private Stock Guitars Worth it? - Ep. 2

i picked up a private stock special semi hollow aftermarket at a price i couldnt refuse. the best instrument i own. just so well made and rings like hell. pristine cleans. i love my custom shop les paul because of that classic sound but the buiid of the prs is just next level. no comparison there

Great review, as always. As I indicated in my last posting about the Masterbuild Gretsch guitars I own, I also have several PRS Private Stocks, including a PRS RG Private Stock Hollow Body II McCarty 594 and a PRS RG Private Stock Buckeye Custom 24 with 594 Controls. If you've not seen either one of these, they're pretty stunning and sound good as well🤘. Thanks again for all your good work. While it's likely a labor of love, it's still a labor (LOL), so thanks for taking the time and trouble of doing these videos.

The PRS core line is so unbelievable that I would have to say probably not. A private stock is more of an art piece/heirloom where a core is a top of the line instrument.

I'm not a big fan of PRS, but this one looks and sounds amazing. The sad thing is, unless you have no other priorities (bills, rent, mortgage, etc) this is not in reach for the majority. I still think that best route is to go with a small boutique builder (like I did) that can give you what you want at a fraction of the price of this example. btw, wonderful playing!

Or settle for the Core version rather than go for a Private Stock - they have the same Pick-ups and hardware in general (unless you choose something more bespoke). The cores too have the same 'build' - maybe not as aesthetically pleasing or even different 'woods' but in general. they are similar... I have this guitar as a core version and it is an Amazing and very Special guitar...
