2.0 NA 168 horse? That’s great! In the Netherlands we get a 1.2 Turbo with 120 hp .... a 1.8 Hybrid from the Prius and a new 2.0 hybrid with 180 horse. But not a high(er) power manual. We should honestly get the boxer motor from the FRS & BRZ planted in this baby. And the Ford Focus ST and RS are on there way.

As usual, your reviews rock! It’s the only review that I as a regular average driver (who was an SAE member in college) can relate to. You’re right about the tight headroom. Had a rented camry last month and kept hitting my coconut on the headliner. No bueno! Had a 94 corolla (badged as a Geo Prizm). Bulletproof but performance was not even 1/2 bean

Drove my wife's mom's '11 Corolla for a week. Like you said On the highway it was terrible but, on the city roads it was pretty fun. I do way too much highway driving to even consider something like this. Great review all together still

Hey Sarah, i like your channel a lot. I have an ideea for the acceleration and brake tests of these cars. Maybe you should do them together, from a standstill, like how much time it takes to get to 60, and then stop. And you can make like a list with all the cars you test ride. Your friend can time you from inside or outside the car, and she can even give you the start, like through a walkie talkie or something like that. I think that would be loads more fun and engaging. I find it surprising that Toyota colours the instruments in blue light. Years ago VW and Volvo had blue instrument lighting, and both moved away. Blue tires the eyes way faster than other colours. (Not just my experience, but outcome of studies long ago, human eyes are most sensitive on green light, so less light is needed to see green things, and we can distinguish more nuances of green than any other colour).

There is a manual option, at least until the 2020 models take over. It's an amazing car, the 3.0 honestly drives much better than the 5 liter in that thing, so balanced. But the v8 does sound better, or at least it sounds more. I think Sarah would love that car.

Sounds like they didn’t give a tall enough overdrive- which is what they did with the Scion tC 6MT. Pretty sad, but I guess they need to keep Camry sales up and keep the market saturated with automatic transmissions. My ‘94 Sentra with a 1.6L 5MT could crack into 40 mpg’s. These cars should easily be able to top 35 mpg’s on the highway.

BTW, I used to have a Toyota Yaris, all my friends used to say that thank God you didn’t buy a white one, they would’ve removed Toyota and replaced it with Maytag. IE, most (not all) Toyotas are appliances only. Great review Sarahs!!!

I like your vid and agree with your statements, especially safety features. A better layout center stack (after-market head unit friendly), 100 more HP. delete fake plastic exhaust trims and they'll have something special. 22-25K still seems a bit high for what this is though but sub 20K would be so much better.

It’s a second slower than a Ford Fiesta st and 1.5 seconds slower than a Ford Focus st. I drive a manual and get 40 mpg highway and 36-37 mixed. I think it’s a lot more reliable than a ford, still not a hot hatch.

Slow cars are way more fun! You can beat on them and be laughing your ass off and suddenly remember the speed limit with an "oh shiiii" moment, then you look down and discover you're doin 63 in a 60 and it's all good!
