Shoe surgeon messed up because he was selling materials kits to make your own fake custom Nikes. Nike asked him to stop multiple times and he would pull the kits but then a few months later make them available again. Nike got fed up, it is what it is.

😂😂. Nike may be hurting but shoe surgeon doesn’t make a drop to barely change Nikes books. They don’t need the money. Nike is protecting its brand and trademark. And anyone can say they don’t have to be like that but if you was Nike you would do same thing or at least should. And just because they’ve collaborated with him before doesn’t just automatically give him the right by “law”

I have to agree with Nike on this one. If you’re selling shoe kits versus customizing a single received pair, to the owners specification…Then yeah, that’s a problem. It’s apparent that SS was way too comfortable with his relationship with Nike and stepped out of line. Probably assuming they wouldn’t care or find out what he was doing.

You’re taking parts from other sneakers and trying to call it an Off-white or a Travis Scott! It is not a real Travis Scott or a Virgil off-white. you’re selling a kit to make whatever it is that you wanted it to be! FAKE! I don’t mess with replicas. Look up the meaning of replica. It’s not real! Slice it and dice it however, you see fit. I don’t care how good fakes are getting, I am not putting it on my feet. Because I know that I’m being a fraud.

Nike has sent him a cease and desist before if what the article I read. Main part to the case is trademark infringement and counterfeiting. The counterfeiting is how he was decon the shoe and build a whole new shoe with different materials and would still be the same as the original which patented and the the trademark infringement is where he would take the actual swoosh which is TM’d and putting his name to it and making it look like a Nike product. And I laugh when you said Nike trying to eliminate competitors, lmao, Nike net worth is over 110B, this size lawsuit won’t even change those books. In the end they are protecting their patents and trademarks. Which if “you” was over Nike “you” should too. Plus the mass producing hurt him in this case

The article I read quoting Nike directly, wasn't the 1:1 shoes, it's that he was manufacturing shoes, and teaching classes on how to make Nike fakes from scratch. Also, he had a downloadable swoosh they could use. Imo, 1:1 is custom. Manufacturing is a lottttt different 😊

A fake in my opinion is using materials whether from other materials to create a shoe similar to Nike is fake. But to paint or change autor details to the shoe but maintaining the integrity of the original design is real. So it’s a fine line between fake and real. But to mass produce is an obvious call fake all the way because Nike had absolutely no hand it. Therefore is not an official Nike product.

Sorry but it doesn’t matter if the shoe is bought from the store. If you alter the shoe from its “original” form and recreate it to mimic a different product it’s a fake.

There is a difference between manufacturing and hand made custom sneakers manufacturing sneakers are not good as handmade. The craftsmanship in his work is legit manufacturing would be done by a machine

Nike just doing what they should’ve been did. 1 can get inspired but don’t copy and sell as your the creator. Pretty common sense. & to your point, customs are dope but when you’re out here mass producing a sneaker from another company; I mean what else would you expect to happen.

I agree if u bought it u should be able to cut up and sell if u want to, but once a logo goes back on backwards upside-down or whatever it's still there logo... so idk it's fake imo, or modified original witch is fake essentially... it's the logo that kills them all same with the addidas he still has on site, they will be next...

My opinion customs are not fake. Guys like Shoe Surgeon and Mache are artists. And if you look at what and how they create specifically Surgeon his he cuts and sews and handcrafts these sneakers as representations of sneakers we’ve loved through the years. I look at it as custom art .

So it’s legal to make millions being a reseller selling Nikes in a personal store but will get sued if you touch the shoe and change it? Help me make sense of it’s ok to resell Nikes product but can’t if you change it and sell it? You got people selling fakes on websites I mean they need to target all the factories selling fake nikes

Nike dont need the money i promise. They are protecting their brand, their name, their patents, their very soul that makes nike what it is. Back when napster was a thing, everybody could share music and anybody could download free music. The artists then started bleeding money. Then lars ulrich had to represent the music industry alone and got looked at like a badguy. Nike dont need the money. They are simply protecting their interests. Sure their stocks are down, you hear all these different reasons but its just the was the market is rn. Shoes are cheap rn. As far as the whole thing with copyrights and patents and that is concerned ive been on the recieving end of someone taking from me without asking. It sucks. All these customizers had to do is ask or work within the confines of what nike would allow. Im sure if that was the case the shoe surgeon wouldnt be getting sued. This is just my 2 cents.

Thats another thing. Fakes. I dont care what a person wears, if you want to wear reps thats fine, this is a free country. I just dont like ordering kicks from goat or stock x only to find out they fake. Nike is fighting the rep market too. Im on nobodies side here. I hope nike and shoe surgeon can work something out. I hope nike squashes the rep market or at least figure out a way to make sure what we are getting is the real deal.

I would definitely say that this custom nike are making a lot of $ and not involve them I would half to say that I believe there is no problem with this guy who made the nike custom is in the same situation as a re seller who buying the shoes and I believe that nike is taking down the competition that is making money and making more money than retail they're down in the stock market so they could afford to kill their stock market and drop the prices and do these releases to hurt the resellers and custom shoes so that there's no profit margin above retail they are a big company that has been around since 1964 they become a top tear brand who is power tripping they see all the sales 🎉🎉🎉 lol 😆 idk I was just thinking 😅

Actually, unless Nike has given their expressed written consent, they could sue all yall shoetubers for making a profit through youtube by using their products to build your brands. BUT since yall are all just being used for free advertising for them anyways, they CHOSE not to litigate….but hey, you never know what Nike has in store for us.
