One of my favorite perspectives actually comes from Dumbledore of all places. It's at the end, when Harry has a near death experience and converses with Dumbledore. He asks if their conversation was real or just in his head and the wizard responds "Of course it is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?"

All those mega successful franchises are riddled with truths at every turn, I think it's largely what contributes to their success. What they are saying resonates deep within us whether we know it or not, I think that that deep subconscious resonance is what ends in our conscious mind manipulating our physical brains neurochemistry into liking something more than just simply liking it. Leave it to a series about magic to embed a description of mentalism, if only more people looked twice!

Being a mystery performer and a magick practitioner I can say (from my point of view) that cerimonial and ritual magick in general creates a shift in our mind in reaching specific results. The actual “spirit” don’t magically appears in front of our eyes like in the movies, but in our mind. Rituals are utilized to create a strong emotional reaction that then will help us to create what we “asked the spirits”. I think are the visual and practical representation of our thoughts that then will lead in actions to achieve specific results.

On a tangent, for mental health awareness, saying something like "Well it's just all in your head. It's not real" is also diluting the power and significance of what happens in the brain. And the same fallacy is occuring. It can be happening in your head and still be real. Your emotional and mental states are subjective but also still valid. They won't always line up with an objective reality, but then again very little of what we experience could be counted as actually fitting whatever is an objective reality. It's all subjective and that's ok and still has significance.

Jung talks about the materialism of the 1870s negatively influencing psychology to the degree that dreams are written off as merely a somatic experience. We are still in the 1870s. If someone says she saw her grandmother's ghost at the foot of her bed the night her grandmother died, it's not anyone else's place to say it wasn't real, though there are plenty of people who will. They are speaking out of turn. The mind is a powerful thing.

I've actually witnessed in my apartment at one time what I think back upon as either familial spirits or trickster spirits. I was going through some hardship and was not in a good state or frame of mind., there was a lot of turmoil going g on. I actually witnessed my mother walking in an area inaccessible to anyone unless they were to pass where I'd been seated. I was so convinced that it was here that I asked what she was doing there. The only response was a smile and a wave of her hand calling me towards the direction she was in...I of course didn't follow because I knew it was something else. This happened a few times and I finally said depart from me you wicked spirit. It looked as almost in a mocking manner pretended to sob in its hands. At one point after this I witnessed it coming towards me turning towards its left and then strangely walking backwards through a wall and into the bathroom area. When I got up to look in,it was nowhere to be found. My children also were manifest in that way and were in the same spot. I was so convinced that I asked them what they were doing there and were not in school. I tried several time to get them to come out but they were pretending to be stuck. I finally gave up and went to my stepfather to tell him to talk to them so they'd come out from where they were hiding. He looked at me and said they're at school...just then my oldest walked in the door with a back pack on and when asked she said she just came from school. Needless to say I was bewildered by this...I thought I was losing it. I've experienced other events that I won't get into, but I feel that this wasn't hallucinations, I believe something was showing itself. I had dabbled a little in trying to contact spirits. I guess they work on their own time-line. My mother is alive if anyone is wondering if this was a ghost...it wasn't. Just so everyone knows, make sure you know what you are doing before trying to contact the other side.

The answer to this, in my opinion, is in how one interprets the question itself, meaning, how are we interpreting "The Mind" in the question. If the Monad was mind before matter, and everything emanates from the Monad, then everything is in "The Mind" Spirits are in "The Mind" meaning the mind from which everything emanates, as are we. The Scource of all is everything, and thus, even our minds and the things we perceive are in "The Mind"

So, I used to work in a video store in a strip mall in the woods. It was secluded and a lot creepy at first but I got used to it. One day a couple came in with an old man and they were ignoring him. I found it a weird family dynamic. The couple picked out a few movies and they came to the counter and the older man kept talking to them as they ignored him and he told me to say which one they should watch first because it was his favorite and so I did. The couple looked uncomfortable and asked who's, and the old man said his name and a few other silly things which I repeated. The woman started crying hard on her husbands shoulder and the husband gave me a dirty look and they left. I just thought they were jerks. A few weeks later they came back in and tell me her dad died, I said I was sorry, but then they said he died before they had come in before. She was having a very hard time so they came in to get her mind off of it and feel better. He had looked completely solid to me and they said ghosts can look solid. She asked what he had on and where he had been standing and she said she knew his outfit but it wasn't what he had been buried in. Now, either I somehow saw a ghost who was worried over his daughter, or that was a messed up weird family. Could be either way really, but why would they put on an act like that and lie to me? One other time I saw a man who looked solid at a college when nobody else had- they had all walked past him, but when I described him the teacher said nobody was suppose to be there and described the man who had died there as fitting that description. Again, the man had said hi to me and seemed really nice. Gag on me or do ghosts appear solid? I do have visitation dreams where I feel loved ones are there, even received a message from my dad a decade later that turned out to be true. When I was depressed a few years ago I started hearing their voices talking to me but that was too much and I shut them out and ordered them to stop. I don't know anything for sure, but it seems those who have died care about the living, or our minds are very magical themselves and seek to make us happy and comfort us.

There's a collective unconscious where our minds are connected. Spirits are like functions on an app downloaded onto an electronic device like a cell phone. The app is the human mind. In the app, several functions (spirits) can be invoked to perform a task.

I know this is an old video, but I had some recent experiences that fit in with this discussion. Recently, I had a very positive experience using mushrooms. While under their influence, I often experienced objects and even myself as being repeated in multiple directions within a sort of three dimensional grid or "The Lattice" as I called it at the time. It seemed as though this was how I was able to see and comprehend four dimensions. I, and other things in my home, were "echoed" into neighboring three dimensional spaces. As a mere three dimensional being, this was my mind's feeble attempt to turn four dimensions into something I could perceive. People sometimes talk about parallel universes as if there are copies of us in these other worlds with their own separate souls and consciousness from us. I think instead, we should see such copies (be they full copies or mere echoes) as extensions of ourselves rather than weird spooky doppelgangers. I also had the realization that "spirit" and "energy" are really one in the same. The energy that flows in and out and through us has its own sort of intellect and often even a soul. Some magick practitioners argue over whether spirits carry out your spells, or if it's all an exertion of your own energy. From what the mushrooms taught me, it's all the same thing. Energy is often aware of itself and knows it's being used by us. We could say that energy is the "Flow" of spirits through a system. Of course, by "energy", I'm referring to subjective energy of the spiritual/mental/psychic variety. I don't yet know if this is true for more objective material forms of energy.

I think TV and movies are one of the biggest culprits for this idea of what's "real". Before we had TV, we told stories and every part of those stories activated our imaginations to give us those experiences... we saw the images in our minds and they were real... now we see images out side our minds. Not to mention all the TV shows and movies that are portraying supernatural things have no choice but to make them seem as if they appear corporeal to the other characters. It's been really helpful to me to realize that our minds are actually just the doorway to other realms and altered states of consciousness allow us to peer into those realms but the only faculty we have to perceive them is our 3rd eye... although, black mirrors help to externalize the experience. Just because the point of perception is in our mind, doesn't mean that the entire experience is.

I have long since concluded that both the thesis and antithesis are simultaneously true, or untrue. So if we see the world as materialist and having substance then so too are spirits. But if we see everything as co-created by our consciousness then spirits are also. Seeing spirits as different from so called inanimate objects simply reflects the constraints we place on our experience.

This is something I am struggling with after having a vision of a deity I had never heard of nor tried to contact. In my case the vision was black and white and 2 dimensional and seemed to project out of my eyes as a semi transparent overlay on my "physical" surroundings. Obviously a hallucination, but I heard a name spoken as if it were in the room with me. And as I said, I had never heard the name, and upon researching the vision matched his discription to an irrefutably non-coincedental degree. The fact that It was Abaddon has caused me to stop performing any ritual work until I can convince myself that it was a confrontation with my own shadow (which is honestly very fitting). It's distressing in that my christian upbringing keeps surfacing a dread of looming damnation, yet I am so extremely compelled to keep searching for God through experience as dogma and nonpolar ethical doctrine always seem to exacerbate the impulses it represses. Abaddons face was undeniably representative of destruction, emptyness, nihilism, etc. But he was just smirking at me with one corner of his mouth. So he announced his presence and did nothing else as if waiting for me to make a proposition, but faded as I was too bewildered to speak. I felt no fear until I googled his name. Not sure why im even posting this other than to vent a heavy experience and possibly get some input or perspective. I tend to think of various parts of the human brain as energetic receptacles that, in certain states, are able to conduct universally present energy patterns that phenomenologically create complex archetypal structures of images, sounds, and emotions. I also tend to think that all experiences that a human is capable of having are the results of these patterns combining in one's environment to affect one's brain in chaotic ways that our job as consciousness is to make sense out of. I stop thinking this as soon as it gets too confusing, however. It tends to be safer that way, I think.

The Mystical Yogic view (Vedantic, Jnain) is of course that Mind creates the physical using Prana. Mind is not a product of the physical but the physical is a product of Mind. More like Mind is a form of Will used by Self as a form of Consciousness. I'd say Time is a product of Mind as well, as matter cannot be without time and time is distinct definition of the infinite flow, of Beingness. Being truly in Mind (or Wilful Self-identified Consciousness) and working with Prana, we can influence physical reality. But mind you, there's not just one mind or one level of mind so we need to learn to defocus from this one focused frequency or contracted point we call 'I' or our person. So we're back to square one. Still, the moment we as a species truly grasp what mind is an how we can operate from it, reality is our oyster (perhaps we need to grow up a bit more first or perhaps the game is to not know and trying to figure it out).

my comment was actually for the other video about the Vast mind. Wow, that was amazing! I love this one too. ✨
@ljr67233 жыл бұрын
The answer as you point out, is yes and no. From the previous Saturday video I think we first consider the vast mind. I would use the Hermetic descriptor, the ALL, the ultimate expression of idealism. All is mind, and that is the ALL. The ALL is in all, and there is nothing that is not in the ALL. But how do we get particularity, individuation? Particularity pre-supposes limitation but because the ALL is not or cannot be limited, then particularity must exist within the ALL, within the vast mind. Particularity and identity are then closely tied. The dimensions that you describe are a parallel to the levels of vibration expressed by the Hermetics. However, I believe the difference is that within the ALL, the borders are progressive and fluid between them. Dimensions per se are a mathematical expression that comes from our "operating system" if you will, the way that we define borders, ie. circles, rectangles, triangles and so forth. The ideals of Plato we may say, and really "hard" borders that do not correspond precisely with the vibrational world around us.. This is how we have a material world with speciation. We have individuation and extremes of vibration within our own species. And we have the capability of transcending the borders in either direction. As above so below we may say. When we move into the layer of slightly lower vibration we communicate with animals such as pets and so forth. This would be the source or framework of the Animist belief system I think. When we transcend above us we can communicate with that which is proper to that level of vibration. But spirits, demons, angels, principalities and powers, to use the scriptural expression, are also individuals within the ALL, within the vast mind. As particularities, they are also limited. They are definitely individuals separate from us, as we are individuals separate from them, but the only way that we can apprehend and/or communicate with them is through the vast mind, in which we and they exist. To the extent that we do apprehend them they have to be in our own mind for that is our interface of perception for any level of vibration. And to the extent that they are in our mind we have the power in that sphere, whether we are aware of it or use it. Just my take on it. Excellent video, fascinating subject matter well presented.

Thanks for your reflection, one must reach a "STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS" according to interact with them, being them and us the ALL? Cheers
@LaneMaxfield Жыл бұрын
Here's a question that gets more usefully to the heart of the issue: do the spirits you encounter have their own experience of being a separate unit of consciousness, before you perceive them in your own mind? I think part of the controversy is that, for some people, "all in your head" means something like a fictional character, who only has the traits that you give them or the knowledge you project on them. Many people believe that spirits who they contact do have an existence separate from their own perception: if I am unaware of what my husband is doing, he still exists, and so does the deceased woman who nudged me to clean up her daughter's stove and the deity who I give offerings to. The distinction does have real implications for magick work. For example, if a deity is just a projection of your mind, you don't have to worry about them doing anything you would not give them permission to do, any more than you need to worry about being hypnotized into killing the president. If a deity has their own separate will, consciousness and priorities, you need to be a little more wary. Another implication: if a spirit from another culture interacts with you, and they are a projection of your mind, they know nothing about their culture that you don't. They may behave in ways that reinforce harmful stereotypes, and your believing that they actually represent the spirits of that culture could cause you to treat real people from that culture in a way that perpetuates oppression. On the other hand, if a spirit from another culture interacts with you, and they have their own consciousness, now they have agency in this interaction, just like a human friend from that culture would have agency. They can guide you to opportunities to learn and to interact with that culture in a positive way, and also choose to leave you if you are not being respectful of their culture. So while I do think this is a useful clarification of one aspect of the debate, I think it leaves some important questions on the sidelines. Personally, I think both types of spirits exist. We know that we can raise and lower dissociative barriers between parts of ourselves, as well as make up fictional characters who seem to have a life of their own, so it is entirely plausible to encounter spirits that are projections of repressed parts of our own consciousness. We also know that other people have minds, and if other people's minds are capable of reaching a mental plane, why can't we encounter those minds there? Why can't there be beings that have those mental planes as their sole mode of existence? I approach the spiritual experience with the assumption that both might exist, and rely on the evidence to make my best guess about which type of spirit I am interacting with at any given moment.

Nothing is outside of our mind. Every single thing we experience, both "out there" and within, such as pain, memories, emotions and so forth, is in the mind. Every undergraduate psychology student knows that if 10 people see an incident, you will get 10 different accounts. That there was a crash, for example, they will probably all agree. But who did what, when and how will vary greatly, depending on their prejudices and pre-suppositions. That's how the police know when a story is concocted, btw - it's usually too homogenous, bc people don't understand this. The ancients have known this for thousands of years. You can't get outside of consciousness.

Great perspective! I also have come to realise we make the mistake of assuming that something being, "real" or "not real" is a binary system, that it can be only one or the other. Why can't it be a spectrum? There are different states of something being real or not real. You can have something that is partially real. Are we real to spirits? From their perspective, maybe we are not so real if we are too far away from their reality, but as we do magick and other practices, we shift our vibration and state of being to match their vibrations and so our realities can temporarily connect so we then experience each other either in mind or in a full evocation and we can perceive them in our reality. Maybe when we experience them in our mind, they are now partially real, and when we see them in front of us, they are now temporarily real.

You sir, you are amazing! I don't near as much as you, but even I have understanding of dimensions. Thank you, this was inspiring and wonderful to watch! Love you content, keep it up!

I've shared a similar experience with another human being we both interpreted the same things along with seperate interactions. I was brought there to be communicated with but I never left from where I was in the first place like you said to expiernce both simultaneously.

I had the same but separate sort of experience with a sister. I woke up to what looked like a baby shadow person with red eyes watching my mouth who looked shocked when it saw that I saw it and it did a 180 and flew through the wall to my older sisters old bedroom. I thought it could be a hypnogogic hallucination. I later asked my sister if she thought the house was haunted, she went and said not the house itself but she said outside her bedroom window she used to see small black shapes with red eyes looking in her room and watching her. I never saw it again.

like a below commenter said, it seems a shift in perception/energy has to be worked up to reach spirits. You see this commonly in spiritualism and such. Sitting in circles and singing generates energy which seems to be the point of a seance for example.

smell has always intrigued me. of all the senses it alone hits the brain directly, or more directly than the others and supposedly is the last sense to die. also really interesting is the delay before a signal reaches the brain and how we compensate for that lag. and another thing is how sometimes we react before a signal reaches us. which licks up against the shores of the whole time slowing down thing some people experience during accidents. oh and have you tried sensory depravation?

It's useful to take the non-dual position that there is nothing outside of consciousness and that everything is made of consciousness. All forms arise from the one field of consciousness and there is no real separation between forms. Our perception of separation is akin to an optical illusion. We make practical but ultimately false divisions like "subjective" and "objective" because of this illusion. Like everything else, spirits are a manifestation of form in the field of consciousness. Our subjective experience is connected to the objective world because there is no real separation. Therefore spirits are naturally "in your head" and "out there" at the same time. The way a spirit interfaces with you is individualistic and "subjective" but they have their "objective" existences that run independently of your localised expression of mind.

I love this channel especially because of the way you approach these topics. You tend to be instructional, curious, quizzical, and educated all at the same time. The good thing is that you are not dogmatic or absolute. Instead you are a seeker on a journey and I sense that there is a turn in your focus and your progress. While I am nowhere near as informed as you, I have been exploring with a sped up intensity. I am a believer that science, biology, and physics combined are in fact magic (it is the terminology that makes it seem mythical). In a universe that is largely unexplored and misunderstood there a many things that we cannot see but they do exist. The quantum world is exposing more and more each day. What I find perplexing in Solomonic Magic is the connection of calling up spirits or demons but needing to go through an Angel. This brings up not only the existence of God but his autocratic authority and need to be praised continually. This is problematic to me and makes we reconsider the Assyrian and Babylonian mythos of otherworldly interplanetary beings creating the world. At the end of the day I believe all is energy and we just have to figure out how it travels. Your movement into Solomonic Magic will no doubt provide some answers. I hope you share them in generosity to your thirsty followers. Alan Watts wrote "What if when we die we just wake up?' an interesting view.

I agree that it is all in our heads, however this statement does disqualify the effects on what we call the outside in my opinion. I believe the "outside" is shared between each and every conscious and more, and thus the outisde can be influenced by inside changes

I just happened upon you. I’ve never read a spiritual book (not including the Bible) nor anything about this, but I “know”. I happened to intuitively click on some video you made of the tree of life and 4 worlds (actually 7) and this is sacred knowledge. Everything was true. Even Keter. It’s is the most beautiful place. No light. No form. No thought. It isn’t until you reach thought that light begins to form. Like zillions of molecules. All you. But no identity. Then all lives - all awe and love. This is the knowing. Where U got all your information. I don’t teach and rarely translate. The spirits you speak of on this video. We are shown in this world backwards. Everything is backwards here. It’s death to life. We are seeing them (bringing our energy to them), not them to us. We aren’t truly evoking. Consciousness leaves a trail like a snail. Lol. They show me so my pea brain can understand. Spirits are very much alive and well. Anyway, I am impressed. Rarely do I come across anyone who is right on and can translate the knowing. Be. 💙 And you were right on with each tree being within each sepherot. All of it. So, I subscribed. Lol.

Magic seems to be mental in the sense that the ritual is the way to unlock the veil that separates the different dimensions, but some apparitions are seen by more than one person at the same time and so it becomes difficult to conceive of this mental concept in different situations in that the ritual was not present.

Great videos and very fun channel! I see it as a a near miss to say the spirits of the grimoires are only appearing here or only there. The old axiom goes: as above, so below, as within so without. Not trying to cop out, I think spirit is first, matter is second. But, I wouldn't have any physical friends on the wrong side of the circle! In my view "the real world" is everything from the earth to all the way beyond the 7th heaven. The "world" tarot card means "universe" for a reason.

The mind is the house of consciousness I suppose and we’re an aperture through which the universe sees itself including other entities, spirit etc, if it is one consciousness in our cosmos, but linked to the other dimensions it would seem certainly plausible that we are in fact communicating with other beings when in a state of ritual or meditation. That’s what I’m getting from this anyway.
@DarayEdalene3 жыл бұрын
My theory is these beings are of a similar energy (or something we don't know yet) that merges with our own, hence people having similar yet different experiences with each, which can also explain how there are so many branches of religions as well. Just as they would need energy to manifest to us, they could take some of ours to do it, which explains the fatigue one gets after communicating with them. It's the best way I can think of to explain different versions if the same God, like Artemis Agrotera and Artemis Ephesus, but also the Spartan War Aphrodite compared to the one ONLY about love and sex.

I think there's something to it being both 'all in your head' and 'real outside you' simultaneously. Many traditions like to posit that mind is all, or that the body is 'created In the image of god' (which would happen to include the universe if a being above the universe could exist). This would suggest that our mind does indeed have the capacity to contain every possible spirit and being within It. You could literally say this is true by simply stating that all phenomenon are experienced by the mind in the mind. However, I think it's arrogant to suggest that there is no objective or at least persistent reality beyond us, because that would basically deny the existence of any other being, and lead to some very damaging solpsism. It's more like our bodies contain a blueprint for every possible experience, including that of external spirits, or even just basic other human beings. Note the use of the word 'external'. These beings manifest first in the mind because one must first expand their access to their own 'body/mind as all' before they can experience active communication with higher or lower dimensional entities. A cool side effect of this is increasing the types of people you are capable of 'percieving', and thus creating unique friendship vibrations. Building that connection would be more like discovering all the possible frequencies a radio is capable of transmitting rather than creating new possible frequencies. I think that's why the process of invoking spirits and practicing ceremonial magick is typically a part of the path to 'becoming like god' because becoming like the universe you were made in the image of is a necessary part of magickal work. You can't really perceive certain entities if you haven't expanded your own brain's ability to create those experiences. It's also why many of the same spirits are contacted, and why traditions exist that are based on 'objectively' solid principles. Sure, you could create your own spirits and many actively do, but it'll probably be easier to generate results working with spirits that have existed and had 'names' for longer than you've been around. That said, I think one really cool implication of this model is that - especially if you include belief In a collectively constructed reality - you genuinely can create entirely new spiritual experiences, or ways of accessing spiritual experiences. I think the best magickal practitioner ends up with a system all their own, and a perception of spirits and magick that uniquely models their own creative potential.

Our eyes can only see what our brain can comprehend. So open the minds “eye” to actually see what most cannot see. Of course it’s real. Even the Bible states do not speak to spirits they know nothing more than you do.

I like to apply to same logic to spirits as I would to any other phenomena that I can perceive. (Ie. The material world for instance.) Sure it could be all an illusion, but as long as I have no indication that that would be the case, it seems easier to just assume it to be real. I don't go around questioning the personal consciousness of my fellow humans, why should I do that to spirits?

Maybe this boils down to our dualistic natures. When we seek to abolish separation and instead experience unity, doesn’t this point become moot?

I've always imagine that: Time ≅ State of matter ≅ Dimension Where in our physical bodies the common states of matter are what we can access, such that they are on a scale among other states of matter. And that when we attune softer on the scale, we are accessing data from the more inner states, where all the others(spirits) are doing what they do.

i have manifested/ summoned/ encountered a real spirit before. I had been thinking of angels a lot. Thinking about god. I was at work when i saw "him". He looked exactly like a normal man, but when i saw him i saw this strange...I cant explain it, it was a kind of weird circular light that was on his head for a few seconds. It was a halo I guess, but it didn't look like the halo from pictures. He knew my name and I should have had a deeper convo with him but I was scared I was hallucinating. I think back to that moment. It has left me... words cannot describe. I am not sure if I created this being through my creative power or if he existed before. God willing my next encounter I will ask. He knew my name and I am positive I didnt know him. This stuff is for real If you want to encounter one of these spirits, dont think of a being that looks unrealistic, like something with wings, think of a being that looks like a normal person. "God" willing you will meet one

@foolishfish Hey there. The goetia is interesting to me. I have been practicing ceremonial magic and I definitely believe we’re all consciousness. I keep getting door ways leading to Saturn work. I’m interested in path working and fulfilling my souls journey in this life. At the climax of my Saturn symbolism downloads you posted a video on Saturn work. The rituals seem intense and the warnings bring up a feeling of caution and tension in my body. Do you have any experience working with Saturn or thoughts on the rituals in the grimoire you posted a video on. My concern is that im “not far enough on my training” to take up this step yet. I just started the Queria work feeling that and Franz bardons work were the most succinct and straightforward. Chaos magic is intriguing but it’s so open ended I like the structure of Queria a bit more. Would love to hear your thoughts.
