So I've always wondered if spring locks could genuinely hurt. To test this out I did what any normal person would do and decided to build my own which definitely can be classified as dangerous. I guess the Fnaf was the friends we made along the way.
Like and subsribe if u wanna see more of this saturated content !

If you would like me to build or do anything else let me know in the comments below, Would love to hear

I love how all the problems of the springlock suit could have been fixed if you reverse the springs from the “push apart” kind to the “pull in” kind. Then the suits could have been wound up to turn into the animatronic, and would snap into the suit mode. Would have solved every problem, and a “springlock failure” would just mean the animatronic accidentally snaps into a suit.

Yes I completely agree, but that's also the whole point imo? Afton thinks of himself as this triumphant engineer who makes impossible things (I mean bro was making bipedal ambulatory robots in the early 1980s!) but he makes fundamental errors like this and in the end gets killed by his own hubris.

The danger of the situation was that it wasn't just the springlocks, but also the animatronic parts being held in place by said springlocks. When the springlocks failed, not only did they stab through William, but then the animatronic parts sprung into their usual place, ultimately crushing and mutilating almost all of his body

I always thought the suit was designed to fit around an endoskeleton. Like, the spring locks snapped back to form super thin openings that form fit the endoskeleton, keeping the suit stable and all that. And that when the accident happened, the spring locks closed like their supposed to, but instead of closing on the ENDOSKELETON it closes on his HUMAN SKELETON. The parts would be passing (piercing) through all his flesh to the skeletal system and closing so tightly around them that the suit pretty much just clamps around his bones and smashes the flesh out of the way. Imagine a set of rings being squished around your arm so tight, they reach your bones and tear your flesh. Then imagine living like that in the back of a Chucky Cheese for a few decades. …Or imagine playing g mod, and colliding one model into another so they both painfully glitch out.

@@masterwolfgaming3436 IIRC the spring long suits were inherently made to be cheap. It was made to kill two birds with one stone by having both a working animatronic and a stand-alone suit so that restaurants would not need to get sets for both kinds. I wouldn't be surprised if they used cruder/lower-grade parts to cut down on the prices even more. That, or William and Henry didn't use regular spring locks and instead their own kind because that's what the suits needed which could explain why the spring locks were so prone to failure because they're not standard and are still experimental.

The springlocks being dangerous was actually always the most believable part of the entire "killer animatronic" theme FNAF has. The sheer forces involved in every other way they hurt anyone defies basic logic and engineering: Freddy can bite down with the force of a fully grown crocodile, and has a mouth that can withstand that force, and somehow no one notices or cares until it's too late? And the mechanics to fit all this force fit inside a suit with a human in it, too? But the springlocks themselves being dangerous are a different story, since it's really just a springloaded Iron Maiden disguised as a dual robot/body suit combo. Still a stretch but at least one that could exist.
@HEHE-tv6mm
@HEHE-tv6mm 8 ай бұрын
For freddy, I think the top of his head and all the mechanics inside it were so heavy that he had to have hydraulics to push it up. But gravity pushed the jaws back down to an extent. So more blunt force trauma than sheer bite force.
@Candjstudios2024
@Candjstudios2024 8 ай бұрын
I build animatronic mascots for a living, and I'll point out, springlocks are dangerous, while Freddy wouldn't hurt you in the slightest, so the bite of 87 (which he would have been the only animatronic who could cause it) wouldn't hurt unless he had some pretty touch mechanisms in his jaw. Fredbear would kill with his bite though, because of the springlocks.

could his head have a spring or tension based system that stores energy and releases it when desired? Some depictions of freddy have his head being maybe 2x the size of a human's, and his body is larger overall? Probably he doesn't bite down with the full explosive force if his mouth is empty, and saves it for when he's expecting to bite into prey? Who's checking? It wouldn't be checked by people other then the makers until an incident happens, even then.... eh? I'm sure one could find places that went through multiple incidents without serious repercussions? But you'd have to purposely design this into freddy, it couldn't come about as an "accident", the person(s) who built him for some reason designed it to have a forceful bite.

This is cool, but you’re initial test was flawed. When the springlock is inside a suit, there is a barrier (the suit) preventing the springlock from being pushed away from the suit wearer so instead, it goes inside the suit wearer, but when you’re just holding it, the springlock gets pushed back because nothing solid is holding it in place. The movie did a pretty realistic and surprisingly not graphic version of the Springlocks, the problem is not the springs themselves, but the animatronic parts moving back to where they should be. As for William dying it was also very realistic, he was being punctured, torso first, people who get stabbed rarely if not at all scream, and on his case, his lungs were being punctured, he would immediately go into shock, in the movie if anything made his death somewhat creepier, with his body shaking and struggling to move, and you can hear his muffled screaming as Foxy drags him, and moaning in agony when G.Freddy kid locks him in the back room. His body wouldn't become the mutilated mess like Scott portrayed his model (although Scott does a terrible job at doing human anatomy so it doesn't help either), but if anything in reality it would be ALOT bloodier than it was in the movie.

the primary danger in the springlock suits was the sharp animatronic mechanisms that were compressed to the sides of the suit. the springlocks alone would likely only cause puncture wounds, but when you add in the compression of animatronic parts crushing in from multiple directions, then you have a system capable of a slow, painful, drawn-out death.

The real danger those in the games wasnt even tbe springlocks themselves. Its the animatronic parts trying to go back into place (and they usually do) which is what usually would kill the suit wearer.
@corellioncrusaderproductio4679
@corellioncrusaderproductio4679 10 ай бұрын
The animatronic parts are only pushed into place by the springlocks though. It's the springlock that are making them push together, not those parts on their own. I believe you're thinking of how phone guy states in the first game you you were going to be forcefully stuffed into a suit full of animatronic devices, but that wasn't a springlock suit.

@@AubergineMans That's exactly what I said? The parts themselves do not do anything, but the springlocks push them into place. Making the springs the dangerous part because they push the devices towards you. Without the springs, the devices would just flop (slide) around inside the suit and do nothing,

The thing is In the suits, once all springlocks go off (which will most likely happen if one singular lock is triggered due to shock and pain) the suit goes into animatronic mode, where the endoskeleton moves you into a default pose for the animatronic so basically, you cant get out and you slowly suffer

Part of the reason the first didnt hurt, is because nothing was held together, it just pushed itself and your hand away, if it was attached to a suit, which was also attached to your hand, then all the force will be applied to your hand, similar to the second example but without the spikes

i'm not sure if a real springlock suit would have plain old spikes, but i'm sure that animatronic parts are plenty sharp. another thing would be parts of you being pinched between parts on different sides, creating bruising and potentially ripping large holes in your skin because of it

What’s kinda weird is that while the springlock you made is very dangerous, the ones used in garage doors and other appliances are rather flimsy. The strength of mass produced springlocks isn’t usually significant enough to go through anything, and it’s akin to a torque converter, where the movement can easily be stopped just by hitting a barrier of any kind.
