Hey man, I have a quick question. Do you recommend renting an electric car? I’m planning to go in the winter, and I’m a bit worried about running out of charge or not having access to super-fast charging stations. Are there many charging stations available across the country?

Hey! There’s a huge electric car network around Iceland actually. Just expect with the cold weather that you’ll be stopping at almost every town to top off the charge because they’re so far between. The charge time is something to take into account in the winter because their sun is only up for 4-5 hours total. So spending 1-2 hours a day at the chargers might cut into your travel time. I didn’t have too much of an issue with it but it was a little stressful timing wise. If you can afford it, I’d find a hybrid SUV that gets good mileage and you’d have a bit less stress that way. Oh also stock up on food / snacks before heading out to sight see. Food is so hard to find there for some reason. I spent 4 days there and had maybe 5 meals total because that’s all I could find haha
