Nice. I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. Multi-show full-concours winner. I do my own maintenance. I'm never selling it.

These cars are charming for sure. I have a 993 but manual / sun roof it's quite the little go kart. with some sticky tires it rides on rails. No other 90's car feels as planted like a modern day sports car. Not fast but isn't really it's goal. An exhaust makes it feel faster lol. What I love about it is that it isn't boring, takes effort to drive and I think that is why people hold onto them longer vs. all the modern day flappy paddle cars of new that ultimately just get boring.

I had a 993 1994. 272 BHP. Here in the UK they upgraded the engine midway through the run in around 1996 to a Variocam or some other name and it went to around 285 HP. Sounded different and of course something for the Porsche community to argue over as to which was the best.

I’d be concerned about that fan too. They are magnesium. Replacements may not be. I didn’t know the cabs had the basket handle in 1997. They dropped that from the coupe in 1995. It makes sense though, they had to have a place for the 3rd brake light.

I like both brands. No hate for either. Many Ferrari owners seem to be very narrow minded. Dan is definitely the latter. His partner Josh seems to be a true car enthusiast though. He can see the positives in most cars and enjoys them for what they are. Case in point he drives a Tesla as a daily.

I love the G body, 964 and of course the 993, (and I like the newer 911s too). On the G,964,993 I'm not a fan of the cab, simply because of the how the top looks when down. Still a nice car, but I love the Speedster in those years. IMO

I had a '96 Coupe back in 2011 for almost a year, an average level 3 driver. Yeah it starts in 2nd unless you mash it or manually put in 1st. My interest fell off after a few months as I wanted a manual so I sold it back to the owner I bought it from for the same price, $24k.

Even if the cabriolet was a manual it wouldn't be worth that much. I think like the 355 spyder people just don't like how the canvas top is not integrated into the lines of the body. Its like a spaceship with a beverly hillbillies ragtop. Since you guys are entrepreneurs you should figure out a way to turn these cars back into slicktops. I remember a long time ago the 355 spyder had a fiberglass conversion kit but it didn't look quite right.

I don’t get in a car I’ve been driving and look at the HVAC while driving as “if” it’s not in my direct view and begs for me to make changes????

Someone needs to tell Dan about impulse buyers. He always reviews inventory with NO link to the car sales site. First put the car on the website, THEN publish the video review. Some people will see the video, want to get the VIN, do a little research etc. By the time they put it up on the website, people will have moved on to another seller. Seriously, why do you guys do this? Are you putting the YT channel before your sales site? Do you want to make sure the YT channel videos don't age with a sales pitch or something? Put the channel as secondary. Turning inventory is more important than views. Sometimes I think you guys are treating your business as a lifestyle rather than as a business.

@@normalguysupercar That doesn't negate my observation. You cannot prove a negative, no one can. How many buyers have simply not bothered? With an impulse buyer, they don't bother so you don't know what you don't know. It's an unforced error in my opinion.

Nice job. However reviewing this in the context of new Porsches, Ferraris etc is misleading. Isn't it a tacit understanding that features like ac, small cockpit and other issues will be dated.? That doesn't make it bad. The acceleration for example is all most people will ever need. Want is another thing. Think of how extraordinary this car was when new. That is the allure of vintage cars of any make. The experience as produced. But the best part if you are hands on, you can still work on them. With a tinmng light and basic tools you can keep them going. That is part of the fun of air cooled Porsche. Nonetheless nice job.
