Are the Boston Celtics world champions or NBA champions?

We dont know because there has never been a competitive game between euro league and nba champions. You can’t call a team world champions because you assume they are the best.

@user-jm9nn3dn1p We do know they match up every year for pregames at least twice a year for the top teams and markets, and it's not even close. You really don't know NBA if you didn't know this. The skills gap is still broad between NBA and international teams.

1. True I dont follow basketball but i like the sport itself 2. That is irrelevant to if they are world champions and you are still wrong. Lets go back to your first comment. You said name a team outside of america who would beat the celtics. I think it would be challenging but still possible. Now switch to football. Name a team outside of europe that would beat real madrid. Thats right you cant but they know they have to beat other international confederations champions to be called world champions and that is what a world champion is.

@user-jm9nn3dn1p There are plenty of teams who have. Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal, etc. There is no equivalent to the teams in the NBA. And the "domestic" NBA title will still siht on a FIBA "world" title because the best in the world is here, not anywhere else. The Euro Cup has real competition because those teams are not that far skill wise from other top leagues. We can literally sent G-League players to win the "world" title and disallow every NBA player - that's the best chance other leagues have against US basketball
