Not sure Potter is the right man at this present time. I wanted him before he went to Chelsea (and his time there, isn't a factor). It's just I don't think we can play out from the back with these players and I think he would need a preseason.

@MrRondonmonКүн бұрын
Why? He has them defending against great teams very well, he can't make them score easy goals they miss like the 4 on 2 to end he Chelsea game, was that his fault? Or giving up a 2 goal lead vs. Bournemouth and losing after the 80th minute? He did what he had to do with the team after the leaked goals in the first few games. He knows 30 points will keep you up this year so he's playing for draws and a few wins. This team can not change without investment in players. Now, is he the man we need next year? No, I do not think so, but he is the rare guy who can keep us up, if we bring in a guy who tries to do what Frank Lampard did we will go down. Only Moyes IMHO, would do a good enough job to keep us up then expand in the coming years. But I really do not like going back in time. Best to keep Dyche then hire a new guy for next year. You guys act like a 1-0 loss away to Bournemouth is bad, they are what top 5 this year? And without that awful foul call we were on a break away, then they scored. The BIGGEST MISTAKE was trying to get 38 million for DCL when we were offered 25 million for him by Newcastle, we could have then signed a descent forward, maybe. The Friedkin group isn't stupid, they know Dyche is giving the a chance in every game with an average lot of players, all he has to do is win games vs. the lower tier a home and we stay up easily. NF and Bournemouth are to 7 this year so we have played what 5 straight top 7 teams, were competitive in every game. The problem is people do not think about is if a CHANGE will create a situation where we may go down. There is no way we go down competing in every game we just need our one Goal Scorer back. DCL can't be bothered, hes playing not to get injured, hes a waste of space tbh.

@MrRondonmonКүн бұрын
@@johnrimmer5955 I think our fans are the ones looking pretty bad tbh. So, can any manager, eve Pep pr Sir Alex win with average players, old players and no new signings of any significance for like what 3 years? The negatives I see are a fan base nit taking everything into account, without Sean we go down the year we fired Frank, without Sean we go down last year because of the points deduction. So, he finishes on 48 real points, decides since we got two players in, one good one, not fantastic but good at a few things, just not scoring it seems, he tried to give them so rope, he opened up the offense and we were giving up goals galore and after 5 games we had 1 point. So naturally he reverted to his old tried and true defense first, stay in the game and bang a few goals in, not working bad until McNeil went out. The truth is the truth, with Dyche at the helm there is zero chance we go down because we stay in games, we can get a lucky goal and win1-0, or have a good night like Wolves, once we get the lead and the other team opens up we can score on average teams, sometimes, BUT....there is only one way we go down, bring in someone like Thomas Frank, or another Frank Lampard type who will refuse to play the team the only way they can be played to win in our current make-up, and they will start getting beat 5-1 or 3-0 and we will go down losing 2-1 to Ipswich or Wolves also. I do not think hes our long term man, AT ALL, but with the current bottom three, imho, not going to get 30 points, all we need is 13 more points and we have a game in hand. The only way we have a chance at going down is to change managers. I could care less about his style at this point, but change at the end of the year, not now. Those who want INSTANT RESULTS? WHY? We are not making Europe, LOL, so we have 1 JOB this year STAY UP, then we can turn the corner with a new manager. Thats my opinion.

Dyche deserves big respect for the job he done under the circumstances during the first 18 months but this season we should have easily kicked on to between 9th or 12th. He obviously can’t motivate the players or has the tactical know how to move us up the table. The football is shocking

I understand we want and need change but bearing in mind the new owners have been in process of acquiring us for over 6 months, had a month or two of approval processes, and did the deal a few days before Christmas and New Year, I think it's a little presumptuous to think they're gonna come in all guns blazing and make a whole pile O' changes in a few days. Just because we're not hearing or seeing anything doesn't mean nothing is being done at the club. They've dropped a substantial amount of money on Everton and I am sure will want to see drastic improvement at the club. Don't get me wrong, I want to see a manager change too - as well as other changes - but please give them a little more time. The football is as shite as I have ever seen and the manager has done nothing to change the team to make us score goals. Love the chat as ever, Happy New Year boys.

Completely agree with the way we play. Nobody at all plays that kind of football anymore. Everton have never been relegated from the Premier League, its not like we are Luton Town, a one-off club or a yoyo club. Bournemouth, a small club, go to Old Trafford and win 3-0 two seasons on the spin....We have won once at Old Trafford in 32 years. What we do, the way we play, the mentality at the club, it hasnt worked since the days we actually were something. Im sick of watching a club that's basically just stuck in the mud, we havent moved on while the whole world, the whole game has..
@Cahill68-bc6tvКүн бұрын
What i find depressing is players i have never ever heard of just hit the ground running at the likes of Bournemouth Brentford and Brighton. You can say we have been shackled with spending but some of these at these clubs havent cost a bomb but we just carry on buying duds. Reminds me of the cock up the club made in the late 80s by buying players that took us backwards and not keeping us at the top table of clubs. The only hope i have is clubs can revitalise themselves again when you see that Forest and Villa are back where they should be and that is the hope but theres also we could become a Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday
@scottcuk112 сағат бұрын
I assume Dyche is on a huge bonus (like previous seasons) if he keeps us up. He knows he's gone at the end of the season as a contract would have been on the table. So, all he's bothered about is getting his bag at the end of season. He's playing the percentages for us to crawl over the line. team performance and fan support are a distant priority.
@philipguimeransКүн бұрын
we seem to just be linked with similar managers like Moyes though. So who should we be going for? The next David Moyes maybe? A young manager from the Championship? Régis Le Bris at Sunderland, Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough, Carlos Corberan at WBA?

@DannyOConnor1991Күн бұрын
The biggest worry for me is the 3 home games against Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton. All 3 of them have to be wins (And I'd rather the last one not be the decider). But Dyche loves bottling the winnable games (Bournemouth, Leicester, Southampton, 10-man Brentford, an awful West Ham). Then we need another 2 wins and 3-5 draws beyond that. 5 wins, and 3-5 draws in 19 games. Technically on that, he can just about keep us up (42% loss rate as it stands but slightly short on wins). But we all know from the way it feels right now, that's not going to happen. It feels like when Burnley went down. Moyes keeps us up and improves us. But the dreamer in me thinks that Carsley could do something (especially in the cup - not sure why 😂). Either would be a huge lift for the supporters. Other than them, I don't see anyone else taking the job in January. And a 'bigger name' could be available in the summer. If that's a good thing or not...

If you want to go short term while getting who you really want - ask Lee Carley to bring us through. if he does well he might even stay with us. We don’t get players forward and put the ball into the box every time they check and pass backwards and on the odd occasion we try to cross the ball we can’t even get it over /past the first man, constantly giving the ball away, no composure, it’s like playground football !!!

What is there to “ consider “??.. they can’t just look at the few games that they’ve been owners, they’ve got to look at the season from the start and even into last season.. 3 wins this season… 8 wins in 12 months…. 0 shots on target against Bournemouth… need to change now while there’s still a transfer window, and not waiting until deadline day… yet again.!!

Hi lads, I hate even thinking this but I'm honestly fearful for our Premier League existence under the current manager and also some of the players, just don't look good enough under him. Again I hate pointing the finger, but a new left back, a pacy left and right winger and a goalscoring centre forward are a must. ( I know a lot of other Evertonians also feel we need these players too) Anything less and I fear we'll play in our shiny new stadium in the Championship next season.
