If QB salaries were pegged to the price of ground beef Jordan Love would be getting $150 million/year.

Offer J. Love two contracts. If he gets 13 wins in 2024, give him $60 million over 6 yrs.. If he gets less than 13 wins in 2024, give him $45 million over 5 yrs.. Right now, J. Love has only won 9 games, and has yet to master the art of passing deep without causing the WR from breaking stride. The receivers have helped J. Love a lot by breaking stride, but it keeps the Packers from scoring more.

I had this thought yesterday while listening to this live. Teams seem to have decided that RBs aren’t going to get paid and the market is what it is now. Recently teams have also seemed to have decided QBs no matter how successful are going to reset the market every 5 minutes. It’s fair to say that none of these guys deserve the money they’ve got including Burrows and Hurts. Is there a team willing or able to stand their ground and slow this nonsense down or are we just supposed to accept that QBs will eventually be half of a team’s entire Cap? If any team could slow it down it would be GB. They have a front office willing to do the difficult things. I love Jordan Love and I hope he continues to perform well but 56 mil per year is a ton of money.

Packers are cooked if they overpay for Love’s contract. They won’t have enough left to pay other key players. Quality of the team goes down and so will Love’s performance. He can’t do it alone.

Trevor Lawrence is mid. It’s too early to see how Love is going to be, but he has potential. If he can sustain what he did last year he is infinitely better than Lawrence.
